I get the whole unashamed-about-the-human-body thing and i most certainly agree that it promotes a healthy attitude as children grow up, but WHY is this so necessary for the audience being targeted

If you for some weird reason want to delve more into weird European animations, you should look up Vanamehe Multikas (means Old Man Cartoon) on youtube. There are English subtitles on at least some of the clips (the earlier ones for sure). It is not geared towards children exactly but I don’t think it should be geared towards anyone. They also made a full length movie of it recently.

I simply do not approve of this show (or others like it) being aimed towards little kids (of course neither should the rest of you), but god damn, I'm not going to act like I didn't laugh my ass off reading the description of the show
Danes just don’t see penises as inherently sexual. This show would never fly in America, but the fact that so many people are surprised by this just shows they haven’t been paying any attention to Danish culture for the past… ever.

Weird? Of course I’m an American I see a lot of things in other cultures as weird. Immoral even by my own subjective standards. Danish culture isn’t my culture though and I can’t judge it by my American morals. Instead I judge using ethics which, unlike morals, are objective. Ethically speaking it is wrong to sexualize children’s media, but the Danes simply don’t see penises as inherently sexual. From what I’ve seen of the show there doesn’t seem to be any kind of sexual acts performed by the penis, and I don’t see any way this could harm children in a society like Denmark.

It's not sexual at all, this is what Americans and other cultures don't understand. body parts and nudity does not necessarily equal sex at all! Most people who have criticized it haven't even seen it. America is teaching young children to be afraid of their own bodies, they deem them taboo, something to be ashamed and inherently sexual and to me that seems more harmful.

One would have to go through giant mental leaps to come to the conclusion that there are messages excusing or enabling sexual assault. That is seen very much through the lense of american hypersexualization, trying to find malintent or harm where there is none, just so you can get that dopamine rush of finding something to be offended about.
At the end of the day it's about a guy with a really long penis that gets up to shenanigans, and it's just supposed to be a bit of absurd toilet humor. If there is a message it's a generic one that you should help people in need, just with a fresh coat of paint.
Scandinavia has never shied away from showing nudity on children's shows ever since televisions were first introduced to us. It hasn't made kids perverse or traumatized, but has given them a more relaxed attitude towards real bodies and genitals.
I suppose the biggest difference is that for America, the naked body and genitals are inherently sexual; there is no separating the two. In Denmark however, they aren't necessarily intertwined. John Dillermand isn't sexual and wasn't created to be sexual, and i understand how that might be a very difficult premise to wrap your mind around if you're not from scandinavian cultures, but i can promise that the kids here won't be perceiving the show as sexual either. For them, the pee pee is just another part of the boy's body.
