      Definitely I'd say the lower level boxers are more challenging more technical than low level MMA guys but they are only practicing one technique where MMA is at least 3....but yes some MMA guys are super technical....

      I agree. MMA has lots of disciplines to learn and be aware of. BJJ especially. You have to know what each technique/submission is capable of. To call it a school yard fight comes from ignorance. But that’s boxing fans for you that don’t want to learn more

    duran is firm about saying he never did drugs. food and alcohol were his weaknesses. In fact, in a book on Duran, there was a story that Duran was found drugged out and with a prostitute, Duran took no issue with the prostitute part but was angry about being accused of drug use.

  • @igorsvacic217
    @igorsvacic217 4 роки тому

    Cmon Patrick, being surprised about ppl loving Duran?
    Id say, and I HONESTLY think that, if you dont love Roberto you dont love boxing, and you dont love fighting. Manos de piedra was a fucking WARRIOR, perhaps the biggest in history. Heart of a lion.

    I agree with Cortez, but MMA due to proper marketing, which lead to a bigger fan base, which lead to a bigger talent pool, which inevitably leads to faster progression towards perfecting the science and art of fighting within the set of rules. As a 20+ year boxing fanatic and former boxer, I used to almost loathe MMA fighters more because of the fan base than the actual fighters (I always had to respect any man who got in there and threw down regardless of what sport or even if it was on the street). Now, I've seen MMA make gynormous strides. Back in the day, youd have a guy getting whooped for most of the fight then ending up winning almost as much as the other way around due to the lack of there being a truly deep understanding of the physics and math, distance etc and what is and isn't possible as well as what's effective and efficient. I've become a fan of MMA, they have a ways to go but boxing's been around for hundreds of years or more.

    Aldo I'd like to say that I never liked Jo because for some reason he always used to mess up my fighter's game like when hatton fought may weather he wanted to make it rough but Jo kept breaking them apart but I understand its a hard job and he seems a great guy who does love the sport. Respect man.

    I really appreciate the content and love the interviews, but this is not a business interview, Its more like a sports fan interview.
    As an independent contractor, with a life long career and international influence i expected more depth into his personal success as opposed to how and why he rates athletes.
    Keep em coming though, your interviews of athletes are normally better.
