Being an American, specifically in Texas...I'm so ridiculously jealous of the raw, natural landscapes of these courses across the pond. I hope to some day make it over there to experience these in person, but for now, these videos hold me over. I think the reason golf is so romantic and resonates with life is the quote at 10:23, "if you can't get in sufficient trouble, then you have no potential for a spectacular recovery shot".
Went to Scotland in 2023 and played North Berwick along with St Andrew’s, Murfield, Carnoustie, and Kingsbarns. If I could only play one again it would be NB.
One of my favorite courses in the world! What many people don't know is that there are two clubs with two different clubhouses that have full rights to play it! The older one is the Tantallon Club with a wonderfull, small and quirky clubhouse behind the North Berwick Club.
Actually there are 3 clubs - the other one is called Bass Rock. That was the traditional club of the artisans. The ladies club was a fourth but that is now part of the NB Golf Club
Enjoyed the course tour, worth mentioning that when it's chilly, rainy and blowing strong - it's not as easy as irons off the tee and you really experience it as a true test of golf.
Robert Louis Stevenson often visited the beaches at the area known today as Yellowcraig and it is said that he based his map of Treasure Island on the shape of the isle Fidra ,just down fro N Berwick.
My brother once played in for Scottish schools against English schools at N Berwick. His match was all square on 18th tee. He put it OB, where it hit a car. One of the Scottish selectors cars. Lost by 1 hole and was never selected to play for Scottish schools again...
It was his father in law's car and the eagle won the event and trophy for his team!
amazing story

This course is on my bucket list, and I didn’t even know about it until a couple of years ago. It looks like it’s just so enjoyable to play.
Thanks James. In the top 5 of my bucket list.
Nice video of my favorite course in the world. No better place to spend a day.
Played 36 holes at NB about 20 years ago. What a course!!! Eagled the par 5 on the back nine. A day to remember.
Sheer class - course and clubhouse. Absolute must for any connoirsseur of golf.
This is the world’s best train to tee trip. You can get from Edinburgh to the first tee in 45 minutes
Ok fine I will start planning my next Scotland trip
What a beautiful place. I hope I get to play out there some day

Great work as always TFE. What’s the incidental music here? Love me some piano jazz!
The best. Played it into big wind out and downwind back. Brother drove The Pit 13th 🤷♂️. Such I blast both directions.
The PGA heard about the ball off the car and just had an idea to set up the ultimate risk/reward back boarding situation for a tournament
Genesis will be testing the new back boarding system on 18 at Torrey Pines SC
Nice belt Andy!
There is a range btw - situated half way down the course.
lol this is true
🤤
Its great - walked it many times, played it never...
The quintessential Scottish links. If you don’t like North Berwick West, you should have stayed home.
