Ultralight Backpacking Gear I Carried For the Timberline Trail & Three Sisters Oregon : My Loadout!
Вставка

- Always forget something on gear videos! I also brought super cheap and lightweight flip flops from dollar general! Other than that and some different chapstick on the Timberline Trail, this is everything that I packed and flew across the country to Oregon. I backpacked the Three Sisters Wilderness in Deschutes National Forest, summited the South Sister Volcano (Oregon's third tallest peak) and after a night of breweries in Bend Or., went straight to Mt. Hood (Oregon's tallest peak) to circumnavigate the mountain on the infamous Timberline Trail. This video shows in depth everything I carried for each trip as well as some insight on how things worked (or didn't!). Enjoy my ultralight backpacking gear loadout!

Great series of videos. Thank you for sharing what you used for gear. I know I’m super late getting around to watching your videos, but I’m excited to have plenty of them to binge. 👍🏼😉🥾
Truly appreciate these videos Bryce. Thank you.
Thumbs up brother, really enjoyed the hikes, and surely do appreciate you sharing the goods. Be well, Terry.
Thanks for sharing your gear list.
Nice video, Bryce. Very humbling! If it was other UA-camr they’re be all over about their stupidly expensive camera, rain jacket, stove and satellite device, etc. But you kept it simple like how backpacking should be.
I’m in! Liked, subbed and notif on. 👍🏽
Bryce, you are the man!
Thanks for the info on the camp stove/fuel - I will give that a try.
6:50 my first water bladders like the Sawyer Squeeze I didn’t take care when I would screw and unscrew the lid and it messed up the seams around where the top is secured to the bladder. Since I started being more careful in screwing and unscrewing (I use my off hand to grip the hard plastic base of the out) I haven’t had that problem.
Loved the vids of the Oregon hikes. Well done! From one Ohio hiker to another✌
Thanks!
I feel the same way about Smart Wool socks. Unfortunately, mine tended to not last very long so I’ve been trying Injinji socks.
Pretty intrigued on that tent. Enjoyed the series of videos from that trip.
Backcountry Exposure It’s gotta be a Hyperlite tent..
nope. lol
@@BryceNewboldwas it a Tarptent?
Thanks for sharing this Bryce! I actually did my first fastpacking trip 3 weeks ago, and had a 21lbs pack for a 5-day, 89 mile, (running) trip. My loadout was/is largely inspired by your videos. Thanks for sharing, and inspiring others, keep up the good work!
That's awesome man. nice job. I really want to do a fast packing trip
i dont mean to be so off topic but does anyone know of a tool to log back into an instagram account?
I was stupid lost the login password. I would love any assistance you can give me
@Krew Abdiel instablaster :)
@Duke Jay i really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and I'm trying it out now.
I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Duke Jay it did the trick and I now got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thank you so much, you really help me out :D
Thanks Bryce very helpful.
I was about to say use the saw, not your braun as a comparison to using Sawyer Squeeze filtration. Let the filter filter.
KFC Famous bowl, hilarious. haha
Sandpaper your coke can stove and cover, works great to remove the paint on them if you are having issues.
Good tip
Is there a rule-of-thumb for pack litre size and camping duration? i.e. 20 litre for day/overnight hikes, 30 litre for 2 nights etc.
How do you hold your canon while hiking and not using it? I'm looking at upgrading my current camera setup which is a dji osmo action or a sony handy cam. Light enough that I can just drape it over my chest strap. I'm looking at mirrorless just not sure how to carry that especially on longer, high mileage trips.
Peak designs camera clip on my shoulder strap. It's a game changer
how do you keep the zing it line in the rock bag from getting all tangled up?
honestly it stays untangled very well I think. its all in how you roll it up I think. I used to use paracord and it was a nightmare to untangle! havnt tangled the zing it yet
Bryce, sorry if I missed it but what brand of gloves are those that your friend gave you?
no idea actually
When I bought my NeoAir XLite it came with an adapter. It's essentially a rubber tube you can stick into the corner of any garbage bag and allows you to use the bag as a pump sack.
I bring a Gerber Dime multitool, not so much for the knife but definitely for the scissors and pliers. ua-cam.com/video/u0sUaboEz5k/v-deo.html
Have you revealed what your tent was yet? I’m scrolling through your videos and I think I keep missing it.
Its a liteAF prototype. Sadly it will not be going into production 😕
@@BryceNewbold that’s what I was guessing. Sorry to hear that, seemed like you enjoyed it.
Did you fly, and if so were there any issues with your stove? Heard you had to clean them well or it can flag TSA.
yes I flew and had no problems with the stove. I use the yellow bottle of HEET for fuel and it burns clean so I don't think it needs cleaned
Nice overview - thanks for posting! Do you have an approximate reveal date for your tent? Does it rhyme with “TiteAF”?
...after the Gear Patrol article confirming an upcoming LiteAF shelter, I emailed Chris to buy a prototype. He said no. 😄
Enjoy your tent! Looking forward to hearing details in the not-too-distant-future...
Love the video except the park but we can't find it the name of the tent think I would have waited till we could actually hear the brand name of the tent
cant talk about it. and cant make a gear list video with out it. sorry
Consider getting some decent gloves, Bryce. Ultralight is nice but not at the cost of having your hands get dangerously cold.
Came just to see the prototype name
regarding the pot stand problem: ua-cam.com/video/PPvbAX5Aiml/v-deo.html
17 oz is not 28 grams lol.
Yea thats a typo. Probably 280g im guessing
Let me tell about my gear- secret. Eye roll.
@@russs811 if i dont adress it then everyone will ask
Why would I want to buy a shelter that you can't tell us about? A Black Diamond Mega Light...for me...it is a 4 season shaped tarp...
Why do you watch all my videos and leave troll comments? Obviously when i reveal it i will talk about it in depth.
@@BryceNewbold ha!
I stopped watching after you didnt say what the tent was! Just Kidding!
lol. you wouldn't have been the only one!
