I have only been watching your videos for about a year now. Finally going back and watching your older ones. I really enjoyed watching this adventure. I'm going to watch the Timberline videos next.
Awesome man thanks!. I feel like I look not very happy in all those videos... the solo across country thing made me act more serious I think. Haha. Ps thanks for joining patreon if that is you. Appreciate it! New stuff coming on that platform👍👍
I didn't see it that way, I'm sure you were just really in the moment. The patreon is not so much for getting additional content (though that is great), but to help you out a little in producing your content here.
Awesome video series dude! Spent a lot of time in those mountains growing up, glad you enjoyed yourself! I'm from Bend, but live in DC now... It just doesn't compare.
good to know . thanks! i actually called the forest rangers of Deschutes and they told me there was no fire bans of any kind when i was there. im sure this last year there was one however!
Bryce Newbold I’m already talking to my Kentucky buddies about doing this trip. There’s 5 of us who go on trips all the time. They never watch UA-cam. Lol. So I’m trying to tell them how awesome Oregon looks. We usually just go to Colorado.
Day three awesome adventure Nothing like some absolutely fresh clean water Excellent video Yes those trees are absolutely huge I think those are hemlocks
Probably not the right shoes if they're giving you blisters.... Awesome trip! Looks amazing! I'm up near Seattle, I definitely need to get down there and check it out!
Hi Bryce - Thanks for making such an informative video. I'm wondering if there was cell-service on your trip or if you were reliant on the Spot for communicating your location with your family. I have AT&T and would love to avoid purchasing a satellite communicator if possible. Thanks!
Woo- enjoyed watching this one. It will take me WAYYYY longer than it took you-but I hike about as slow as a club footed turtle going through peanut butter. Question: Would this trail work for hammock camping? Or were there some spots that you would HAVE to have a tent?: ))- thanks and congratz on the 3 days!
haha! thanks. I actually I thought it would be a tough trail for a hammocker. especially by moraine lake and green lakes.. not many options when you have to camp within 15 ft of site markers.. not to mention lots of trees are gigantic in circumference!
So I live in Oregon and this trip has sparked me to do it!! Now that they cancelled the permit system that was going to start I’m doing it! Any info would be greatly appreciated!!
I'm from OH as well. Western trails really are just better. AT may be harder than any other, and very few vistas for payoff. If you had to choose which thru hike to do, I think you'd have to choose PCT or something west, if you have the ability
Heh.. 16:50.. checking permits. Right about when you discuss this, you just passed Minnie Scott Springs. Last summer I camped at a pond/tarn 1/8 mile E of PCT, 1/4 mile N of MSS’s. On a late Sat. afternoon two FS emplyees bushwhacking, also way off trail, stumbled upon my camp, and then thought to ask to see my self-issued TH permit. They were not working. They were effing around. I do not like this form of policing. Several years back at Golden Lake, you went past it on day one, same thing, ranger tracks my tent down far end of that lake and meadow, woke me up in my tent to check my permit. In 2020 and beyond, much more stringent permit system. USFS getting mjr push back. twitter.com/zachsoroutdoors/status/1225844674960732161?s
Bryce, wonderful series. Well done. Thanks from Ohio.

Great video. I hadn’t realized the trail was so sandy. Guess I’ll wear my dirt gaiters when I do it!
You are a beast!!! Really enjoyed your videos.
Awesome video! Thanks!

Great video. The smaller peak you noted is called "The Husband." One thing to note is that alcohol stoves are prohibited during fire season.
good to know . thanks! i actually called the forest rangers of Deschutes and they told me there was no fire bans of any kind when i was there. im sure this last year there was one however!
You are turning into a mileage machine!! Great trip ... congrats. Looking forward to the next one!
I’m behind on the Oregon vids. Really enjoyed 3 Sisters. Looking forward to Timberline!
I like the timberline videos better! they were way easier to edit for some reason

Excellent panoramic views in this episode. The National Geographic film team would be envious. All the best to you Bryce. Take care.
🤗
Nooner meant something other than lunch when I was younger. I’m surprised I beat Restless Outdoors on that. 😂 Nice 🧢 toss! 😁
lol!!! That sounds better than lunch!

What an awesome trip!
Thanks Barb!
You are a mile crushing machine! A monster of mileage. (Also, beautiful series)
haha.. thanks!
Yep going to add this loop to my list.
Amazed you hiked in running shoes versus hiking boots. What are the pros and cons? thanks
All right. : )
A great way to close the day.
Nice trip 👍
Awesome videos!
thanks man. really appreciate it

...do you have an ETA for your PT shelter reveal?

I did not have service I believe.
I'd suggest a 3 day trip to the Marble Mountain Wilderness in Northern California next time!
thanks. I will look into that. never heard of it
Pct is the one for me too

Email me if I have any questions about it
Thank you sir!
Is that Montbell jacket a rain jacket or wind jacket?
Wind jacket
I live in Washington. If you come back to the NW or IF you PCT, I can assist with anything you need from Bridge ofThe Gods to Snoqualmie Pass.
Great to know! thanks!

Yea. AT just cant compare as far as views go
What kind of tripod are you using?
Mefoto backpacker air
What are the sketchy areas to avoid?
Not sure. Just loose rock on the summit trail to south sister
Bryce, to just ask the question, were the rangers on foot or horse? Thank you.
on foot. kinda hiding in the bushes around a corner so she couldn't be avoided... super cool chick though
Psalm 10:9
"They lurk in ambush like lions in a thicket..."
