I think you're right about the graphics holding the game back a bit. I've never really had an issue with more retro graphics, but I didn't play Syx until recently, even though I bought it a year or so ago. The game is amazing once you get started, and the graphics have grown on me over time.
One question - you seem to be able to delete individual workshops/furnishings inside a building while you are building it out, how are you doing that? If I right click it just removes what I placed last. Thanks for the video :)

Shift click I believe, the menu also has the option in it, usually the workbench will have an option to plaace, and next to it *remove*, but I think I shift click them.

btw how do you know the lizards use the lavatories less? Less compared to who? Is it just personal observation or I can find that info somewhere?

Under properties or the "?" You'll see stats pertaining to all traits, including defacation. They eat less, therefore produce less waste.
