Hi Joe. It's a good feature, considering PT's just randomly lose connection with the key fob and need to be reprogrammed. Having the key and it allowing you to turn off the alarm and start the car is great. Glad I could help.

Lisa, PT cruisers suffer from key fobs just not working one day and they have to be reprogrammed. When I bought mine, I only got 1 key. Some people may have lost the second key or may be out and about and only carrying one key, as most everyone does. If your key fob should stop working, you can still disarm alarm and make it home.
Good Vids. I've had an 04 GT Dream Cruiser(blue and silver-blue tint glass) for 20 years - 1 of 2500 made. Love it. BTW, mine does not have a right door lock cylinder, is it because it is a GT? Coincidence, been having p0340 and other codes, had purchased an Ecklund cam sensor. Your vid was great on how to change it, now i have to get weather above -20 to do it! Thanks
Hi Roland. Glad I could help. My GT does not have passenger key lock either, only driver door and trunk, which is the upgraded latch style trunk handle only on the GT.
How to disconnect the alarm altogether? My 2002 PT everything is new, drains battery overnight. MUST BE ALARM. I have nothing but the key, no little push thing, only the key. Can I remove a fuse that will stop the alarm from draining down in one day the new battery? 2nd new battery. New starter. New alternator. It must be the alarm draining the battery. Any help appreciate tremendously!
I got a question about this one and this is what's throwing me off I can program the key myself and I've done that but it still keeps continuing to not unlock the car. So every time I locked the car manually and open it manually through the unlocking mechanism the alarm goes off. So even with unlocking the door programming it didn't do any good so I'm just wondering is my key fob defective even though I can still start my car and run it but none of the lock functions work on the button?
I have a basic key, no security, and opens drverside door and works in the ignition, but will not turn in the trunk. Why? Also note, Fob works but trunk won't open. I am missing the latch lever.
I just bought a 2007 pt cruiser touring edition, and I just bought a new battery for it when I go to connect the positive and negative the horn goes off constantly, anyways to stop it, we’ve tried checking the fuse, the inside of the car watched tons of UA-cam videos still not working
Hook up the battery. Take the sentry key. Insert in driver's door. Turn left twice. Alarm should stop. Your has cae two alarms; entry and panic. Pushing the remote will turn on the panic alarm; then you'll have both running. good luck

Hola David. Que yo sepa, no tiene nada que ver el estéreo con el control de alarma. Lo que si se, es que este carro tiende a perder comunicación repentina con el control de alarma y hay que reprogramarlo. Ya es defecto del carro. Eso me pasó a mi y por eso subí este video.
Hi Junior. It's an OEM Hood that another PT owner cut to give it some design and allow heat to vent out. I'm actually selling it if you're interested. I lost valve compression on a WOT run. I'm not gonna fix it anymore. I'm in Riverside county, Southern California.
Your key should disarm the system as you unlock your door. If it didn't, stick the key in the ignition and turn it forward, alarm should disarm. Is it factory alarm or aftermarket?
Same issue 2001 key fob stopped working when I use the key alarm goes off I have to put in an ignition to turn off the alarm I thought the fob was going going dead replace the battery not the issue new battery fob still not working

Just about the most confusing nonsense I've ever heard and nothing about disabling the alarm and for the finale` he turns the key to the right twice while saying turn it twice to the left!😂
Absolutely non productive comment. The alarm shuts off as soon as you unlock the door with the key. I'm on selfie mode so the camera was flipped. You sure are picky for getting free advice.
@@luiselmilusos7625you did a great job on the video. Just lost the key with the fob & you saved us about $200 on ordering the replacement now knowing the manual (less expensive version) will work.
@@Karan-pl5ko if you were more observant, you'll catch that my camera is flipped on selfie mode and so it shows right when it should be left. That was my bad when I recordedthe video. You could simply try it in your car and figure it out. All in al, It's a free video trying to help out. Some people are petty, It's understandable. Glad I could help, or not in your case.

Hi Ningun05 , yes, on my '04 GT, it also works on the rear hatch, not sure about the lower trims and those rear doors but I believe it does.

The right door key lock was deleted starting in 2003 on most American cars including the PT Cruiser.

Hi Slim812. Sounds like you may have an aftermarket alarm causing the horn to go off.
Hook up the battery. Take the sentry key. Insert in driver's door. Turn left twice. Alarm should stop. Your has cae two alarms; entry and panic. Pushing the remote will turn on the panic alarm; then you'll have both running. good luck

@@morepowerr my guess is that you must reprogram your key fob. PT seems to have this problem.
