  • The eye area has a LOT to contend with. Expressing ourselves takes it’s toll on the most delicate skin on the body. Plus it’s very exposed and rarely properly protected.
    So it’s worth taking stock of the simple, daily habits we can build into a consistent routine to ensure it stays fresh and firm, not depleted and drab. I take a deep dive into this in today’s video - settle in and take notes!
    As always, thank you so much for watching and for all your support!

    Can you please do an in-depth video on safe pregnancy 🤰🏻 skincare products and acne products that are safe to use. Also what would be the best products to use to prevent likelihood of skin hyperpigmentation that some individuals develop during pregnancy. Thanks! 💗

      The hyperpigmentation that comes with pregnancy is often Malasma which is hormone related topical products may not prevent that. I was lucky enough to not develop malasma on my face but I did get it on my stomach even though I had a good solid body care routine.

    I am 41 and skin around my eyes like a teenager. I barely touch it = I don’t wear make up,not even mascara , don’t use spf so I don’t have to wash the area with cleanser and I don’t drag this delicate skin, I ALWAYS use sunglasses when I go out even if it’s cloudy and I use actives in the evening, be gentle !

    Dr. Sam, your skin is flawless.
    I wonder how do you have no nasolabial folds ?
    Any tips to get rid of them or reduce them by peptides, or acids or some really proven scientific methods ? Thanks.

    • @kendallstark4302
      @kendallstark4302 2 роки тому +2

      Probably dermal fillers would do the trick with that. I've been massaging my prescription retinoid into my nasolabial folds for months now and haven't seen any improvement. Topicals will only take you so far.

      Tretinoin tretinoin tretinoin tretionin. It's not a miracle. You're not going to reverse in a few months but get on it now and keep using it on your whole face. It's the best topical we've got. It took me nearly a year to get rid of a skin flap on my left eye but it is gone. I have no crows feet in my 40s. I do have some improvement in my eye hood (which Reddit seems to think can't happen but by god yes it can) and a bit on NL. Or, you might be left with needing fillers or other in-office more expensive treatments. Still, tretinoin will also help to slow down getting wrinkles in other places too. I wish I started younger than you. I didn't start until 38.

      Then I had to stop for over a year due to little ones being around me all the time. So getting back into my tret routine. Take it from my cold dead hands.

    • @abc_cba
      @abc_cba 2 роки тому

      @@taranullius9221 I play with acids all the day ! Weeks, months !!
      I have a daily Retinoid routine for 6 days.
      So, two days Tretinoin 0.1, two days Tazarotene 0.1, two days Adapalene 0.3, one day of rest.
      I do it for a month, then halt for ten days, do a mix of Glycolic 70(for 3 minutes) - TCA 20 (2 passes).
      Let it heal, then restart my Retinoid game for a month and that's how it's been.

    Very interesting, Dr. Sam! So, I’m wondering if I should also consider using an occlusive around my eyes in the morning as I use an active cleaner with salicylic acid and let it sit on my skin for several minutes while I’m showering. I’m 56 with aging, mostly normal, and somewhat still acne prone skin.

    Hi Dr. Sam, thank you for this video! I'd been wondering what to do with my undereye skin area. Could you please talk about skincare and pets? This might be out there, but for us with pets that lick our faces and sometimes scratch, I find it difficult to know if my skincare actives could harm my pet and also how to protect my skin from all the furry attention that sometimes results in irritation and damaged skin barrier.

    I checked your products and there was ex. eye cream. If you are a real doctor/dermatologist you should know very well that regular face moisturizers are just perfect for the eye area too, the skin is the same. They taught you this in dermatologist school. Yea its thinner so dont put retinol in eye area but when it comes to moisturizers, what is good for the other parts of face is good for the eye area. I know bussiness is bussiness but it gives a bad taste to fool people. But if your conscience dont ring any bell... well there is a judgement day, so they say in the big book. Better keep good conscience.
