Artix Entertainment Games was my childhood From Adventure Quest, to Dragon Fable, to Mechquest, to Adventure Quest Worlds and etc. Club Penguin may have shutdown, but AQW is still alive. I still visit the game to get a nostalgia experience from time to time.
@@thotslayer9914 You might not be setting your stats up the best way so try resetting them. You only need to invest in one type of damage dealing stat at any point in time. All my stat points are used on mana, luck, and piercing damage since I'm currently using Master Soulweaver.

Man, AQWorlds was just nostalgia. I remember being introduced to it by a friend and my curiosity got the best of me. I played that game for so long, But I eventually fell out of it. I haven't seen the new stuff, and judging from some comments, it looks like it has fallen out of grace. I don't wanna watch nor read past the intro of the game anymore just to preserve what good thoughts I had of this game. Also, the old intro was the best. You get struck by lightning and you fall off the cliff. It told me that the game was just a chill game where you don't really have to take it seriously, you have fun and etc. I hope they still have both the old intro and that one scene in one part of the game where your Character goes "this scene feels familiar" only to get struck by lightning and fall off the cliff, just like the old start of the game. P.S. I was notoriously socially awkward back then and had no friends to play the game with, so to beat bosses that i had no chance to solo I had to make like 4 other accounts, formed a team and bum-rush with everyone keeping damage on the guy so it doesn't instant regen it's health back. Good times.
To some extent they do...after you beat the 13 Lord's of chaos it triggers another part of the story which is zombies but idk if that's cause I just hadn't done the zombies story before but that part of the story starts off with you getting struck by lightning. Basically a callback to the old intro honestly
Their only active community now is in their subreddit and discord. Their forum is almost dead and I think there's even no moderator anymore. MechQuest and HeroMart is dead and haven't updated for years now. The updates that AQW and AQ3D are getting are just cosmetics. AQ3D has been running for years now and their's still no guild, pvp etc.
I still hop on my Adventure Quest from time to time. I remember buying my house, and your house actually gains worth over time. My house is worth so many Z tokens after 13 years
I would really recommend you to play Dragonfable, it is much closer to being an actual successor to AdventureQuest and it is an outright improvement over it in every area, including artstyle, gameplay and most importantly story
@Aedion Ashryver I mean, they're all made by the same company, have similar mechanics, almost the same characters, and are sometimes even the same canon. They're all a family of games, so it's more expected to talk about them as a whole because of how similar they are.
@@lildaffy1695 dragon fable was actually an official prequel to classic AQ. I think they retconned that though, and made it to where classic AQ is the prequel for all other AE games, with each game (AQW, DF, MQ, WF) being a sequel to AQ in a different timeline

DF is still considered a prequel to everything as it features younger versions of all the characters and establishes the origins of Lore before any of the other games' stories takes place. Think of DF like a "birthplace" and everything that follows is it's children. Then you have different "timestreams", so you are correct here but it's more confusing than that. AdventureQuest is technically the first in it's own line of four games; the other three being WarpForce, MechQuest and Epic Duel. WF is widely regarded as a direct sequel to AQ as it featured many crossovers with AQ and was the closest to AQ in terms of Lore. However, WF was replaced by MQ and thus rendering WF defunct. MQ primarily takes place on "Loreon" (future Lore) so because of this (and since MQ took WF's place in the timestream) it could be considered a direct sequel to AQ. ED also exists alongside MQ in the same time period, just on a different planet known as Delta V. AQWorlds, however, is set in an alternate universe apart from classic AQ. This timestream also serves as the catalyst for OverSoul (more on that in a minute). I haven't the foggiest idea where AQ3D falls in the timeline as it's still relatively new and unfinished but I suspect it's a direct sequel to AQW. I'll explain why it is I think that. This is where it begins to get a little tricky. You have certain characters like Dage and Nulgath who can time travel and open portals to other universes, respectively. They both originate from AQW. Dage has appeared in Epic Duel and AQ3D so it could very well be plausible that MQ and ED also exist in AQW's timestream. What's more, Dage's Legion exists in AQ3D so it's even possible that this is the same timestream as AQW. Nulgath is the one who first discovered the foreign realm of OverSoul and he's even popped up in DragonFable in his quest to return to his Lore. Since Nulgath's Nation is also a part of AQ3D, this further strengthens my theory that AQ3D is the same timestream that Dage and Nulgath originate from. Think of the Artixverse like one big Venn diagram. DragonFable is one big circle and there are two smaller circles inside that each represent AQ and AQW/AQ3D. Where the two smaller circles intersect is where you might find WF, MQ, ED and other games because AQ and AQW are different universes that seem to share the same future. At least that's how I like to look at it anyways!

Adventure Quest was the first RPG I played and I still remember the day I made an account and jumped around being super giddy that I could make my own character. I feel as though I have grown out of the AE games but I thank them for the friends I made along the way, reintroducing me to the excellent musician Voltaire and opening the doors to my favourite game genre. Battle On.

Finally you feel me. 2012 AQW was the last time I felt true happiness After that they started updating crap Like... Chaos Slayers? Perfect round classes for farming, boss solo, and PvP making Necromancer, Evo Shaman and Shaman a little less worth getting. They also started adding weekly stories, items, shops, and sometimes even classes which are consistent but total crap A lot of it I can go around but still. AQW now is not the same as AQW then, not in terms of Nostalgia but in overall as a game.
@CogentPhilosopher The ones that don't outright have "You are now a Warrior" or "You are now a White Mage" on command let you customize in other ways that simulate a job change. FFVI gives stat mdifiers based on the magicite you have equipped, and allow permanent mastery of the spells associated with the esper. FFVII's materia system is essentially the job system. FFVII's junctioning is the VI and VII systems mashed together. FFX's sphere grid is COMPLETE AND TOTAL STAT CUSTOMIZATION.

I never played alot of AQ, but their other turn-based game, Dragonfable, was a HUGE part of my childhood. I preferred it cuz of its far superior art style. But the real winner was AQWorlds. I sunk probably hundreds if not thousands of hours into that masterpiece

Made a brand new character almost 12 years later and even bought a brand new guardianship just to support Artix Entertainment for right along with RuneScape being the foundation of PC Gaming in my childhood
I'm still a frequent player of AQW to this day, and even though I think it's more of a fashion game than a proper MMO, it's still pretty damn good and addicting. They also update the game with new content literally EVERY week.

This game is such a healthy dose of 2000's nostalgia. I can still remember coming home from school and hopping on AQW to play the They Might Be Giants collaboration event. That feels like a lifetime ago now.
This game was really good for the time, frequent updates for places, and characters! It was well thought out, armor and weapons choice made a difference depending on the enemy
This game was the greatest casual, old school, single-player Fantasy RPG of my life. Dude even after not playing for like ten years, I come back and the game was like, " Oh you've been gone for a while and your house has sort of accrued A BAJILLION Z-TOKENS OF INTEREST! Have fun!" It honestly kept me coming back to check out the new updates and try the new challenges. And honestly, I never felt bad about getting burned out again, cuz that one moment 5 years down the road where I remember that this game was a thing, I get to come back and start a new adventure. This game is a classic.

And on the last year or so before it shifted to launcher I made it to level 150. And now... "Wait... your telling me they updated classes?!" "What happened to Holy Might?! What happened to Summon Undead Mutant?!" I remember abusing undead mutant... occasionally I'd get it for free even with not enough mana. Z-tokens are easier to obtain now... yeah you can only get like 50 per day... I remember when they hyped the movie "Seeker Darkness Rising" I still have all the signs...
When I was a child my friend brought it to my attention and we would play every day, we were friends from elementary school to freshman year of high school when he simply didn’t want to be friends anymore I would sometimes load up the game just to feel like I wasn’t really alone with an alcoholic father and an over worked mother. It truly kept me alive as a child.
I remember playing this game back in gradeschool, and being a free member at the time it was waiting a good 10-20 minutes just for the queue by going to Arcadepod and playing Tanks with friends while we waited. Was crazy. Then we got AQW. What a drama laden nightmare that was. I didn't really know what the Internet truly was before that place. It was basically like 4chan had a video game and some of the worse people congregated, botted, and overall made people feel bad for lack of rare items and the like. I had a lot of fun playing that game, but there was a lot of things in it that were really unhealthy looking back on it and it would have been better if I personally never had got on it. Concept was great though. Maybe someday I'll log back on it and buy a month of membership just to dress myself up again.
As an adult with a job I sometimes find myself thinking "I could buy that amulet in battleon" but tbh, you stay logged in with a new account using the wizard guy as your mentor you can wipe the floor with most of it except for the "members only" parts.
I remember the early days when only those with a Guardian or X-Guardian account could play Dragonfable. I started in early 2006 and my first event was the Vampire versus Werewolf War. That is still one of my all-time favorite events to this day. Many Vampires fell to my claws.
I remember when I first started playing this like 9 years ago. I always had a problem with the AC stuff and member exclusive items and events cause those were always so cool but I never let that stop me. Back then it just pushed me to want to be one of the best non-member players in the game. Even to this day I'm still playing the game and have yet to buy even 1 AC. All thanks to botting, God bless whoever came up with botting honestly

I have not thought about this game in years and I was pleasantly surprised to hear how it progressed. My last year at school was 2005. there was 1 IT classroom that allowed kids to do "homework" during recess and it was always just full of kids playing this. I was always mad you could never just get work done.
I started playing AQ3D after watching this and tbh my favorite feature is being able to equip almost anything as a cosmetic while still using the gear that has the best stats. Now I can use the better, ugly gear but still look like an edge lord. Also, I love that you can change your class freely to suit your needs whenever you want outside of combat.
Artists and other creators nowadays get so caught up in making the absolute best content they can, but things like this are proof that it's not about the quality, it's about what you put into it. You can have fun and make something that is so far from perfect and it can become an important part of childhoods all over the world
I played this game from like 2009-2012. So much nostalgia watching this video. Takes me back to grinding my ass off for the Ungodly Reavers of Nulgath, asking for my parents to buy the AQW calendar so I could redeem a code for the Chronomancer class, and absolutely losing my shit every year when they would launch the Talk Like a Pirate Day events because I loved those costumes. Good times, man. Good times.
For me it was 2011-2015 which were the golden times for me haha. Met some awesome friends who I still keep in touch with occasionally on social media. I still log in from time to time as well, just to see what's new

The only artist games that aren’t dead is aqw and to some extent, aq3d. But even they are losing a lot of the player base

I would really recommend you to play Dragonfable, it is much closer to being an actual successor to AdventureQuest and it is an outright improvement over it in every area, including artstyle, gameplay and most importantly story

@@lildaffy1695 dragon fable was actually an official prequel to classic AQ. I think they retconned that though, and made it to where classic AQ is the prequel for all other AE games, with each game (AQW, DF, MQ, WF) being a sequel to AQ in a different timeline

DF is still considered a prequel to everything as it features younger versions of all the characters and establishes the origins of Lore before any of the other games' stories takes place. Think of DF like a "birthplace" and everything that follows is it's children. Then you have different "timestreams", so you are correct here but it's more confusing than that.
AdventureQuest is technically the first in it's own line of four games; the other three being WarpForce, MechQuest and Epic Duel. WF is widely regarded as a direct sequel to AQ as it featured many crossovers with AQ and was the closest to AQ in terms of Lore. However, WF was replaced by MQ and thus rendering WF defunct. MQ primarily takes place on "Loreon" (future Lore) so because of this (and since MQ took WF's place in the timestream) it could be considered a direct sequel to AQ. ED also exists alongside MQ in the same time period, just on a different planet known as Delta V.
AQWorlds, however, is set in an alternate universe apart from classic AQ. This timestream also serves as the catalyst for OverSoul (more on that in a minute). I haven't the foggiest idea where AQ3D falls in the timeline as it's still relatively new and unfinished but I suspect it's a direct sequel to AQW. I'll explain why it is I think that.
This is where it begins to get a little tricky. You have certain characters like Dage and Nulgath who can time travel and open portals to other universes, respectively. They both originate from AQW. Dage has appeared in Epic Duel and AQ3D so it could very well be plausible that MQ and ED also exist in AQW's timestream. What's more, Dage's Legion exists in AQ3D so it's even possible that this is the same timestream as AQW.
Nulgath is the one who first discovered the foreign realm of OverSoul and he's even popped up in DragonFable in his quest to return to his Lore. Since Nulgath's Nation is also a part of AQ3D, this further strengthens my theory that AQ3D is the same timestream that Dage and Nulgath originate from.
Think of the Artixverse like one big Venn diagram. DragonFable is one big circle and there are two smaller circles inside that each represent AQ and AQW/AQ3D. Where the two smaller circles intersect is where you might find WF, MQ, ED and other games because AQ and AQW are different universes that seem to share the same future. At least that's how I like to look at it anyways!

Adventure Quest was the first RPG I played and I still remember the day I made an account and jumped around being super giddy that I could make my own character. I feel as though I have grown out of the AE games but I thank them for the friends I made along the way, reintroducing me to the excellent musician Voltaire and opening the doors to my favourite game genre. Battle On.

They also started adding weekly stories, items, shops, and sometimes even classes which are consistent but total crap

@CogentPhilosopher The ones that don't outright have "You are now a Warrior" or "You are now a White Mage" on command let you customize in other ways that simulate a job change.
FFVI gives stat mdifiers based on the magicite you have equipped, and allow permanent mastery of the spells associated with the esper.
FFVII's materia system is essentially the job system.
FFVII's junctioning is the VI and VII systems mashed together.
FFX's sphere grid is COMPLETE AND TOTAL STAT CUSTOMIZATION.

I never played alot of AQ, but their other turn-based game, Dragonfable, was a HUGE part of my childhood. I preferred it cuz of its far superior art style.
But the real winner was AQWorlds. I sunk probably hundreds if not thousands of hours into that masterpiece

I'm still a frequent player of AQW to this day, and even though I think it's more of a fashion game than a proper MMO, it's still pretty damn good and addicting. They also update the game with new content literally EVERY week.

Adventure Quest is one of the biggest games of my childhood.
I kinda really like the old artstyle. It just oozes early 2000s flash game.
This game was the greatest casual, old school, single-player Fantasy RPG of my life. Dude even after not playing for like ten years, I come back and the game was like, " Oh you've been gone for a while and your house has sort of accrued A BAJILLION Z-TOKENS OF INTEREST! Have fun!" It honestly kept me coming back to check out the new updates and try the new challenges. And honestly, I never felt bad about getting burned out again, cuz that one moment 5 years down the road where I remember that this game was a thing, I get to come back and start a new adventure. This game is a classic.

When I was a child my friend brought it to my attention and we would play every day, we were friends from elementary school to freshman year of high school when he simply didn’t want to be friends anymore I would sometimes load up the game just to feel like I wasn’t really alone with an alcoholic father and an over worked mother. It truly kept me alive as a child.

I remember playing this game back in gradeschool, and being a free member at the time it was waiting a good 10-20 minutes just for the queue by going to Arcadepod and playing Tanks with friends while we waited. Was crazy.
Then we got AQW. What a drama laden nightmare that was. I didn't really know what the Internet truly was before that place. It was basically like 4chan had a video game and some of the worse people congregated, botted, and overall made people feel bad for lack of rare items and the like. I had a lot of fun playing that game, but there was a lot of things in it that were really unhealthy looking back on it and it would have been better if I personally never had got on it. Concept was great though. Maybe someday I'll log back on it and buy a month of membership just to dress myself up again.

I remember the early days when only those with a Guardian or X-Guardian account could play Dragonfable. I started in early 2006 and my first event was the Vampire versus Werewolf War. That is still one of my all-time favorite events to this day. Many Vampires fell to my claws.
I remember when I first started playing this like 9 years ago. I always had a problem with the AC stuff and member exclusive items and events cause those were always so cool but I never let that stop me. Back then it just pushed me to want to be one of the best non-member players in the game. Even to this day I'm still playing the game and have yet to buy even 1 AC. All thanks to botting, God bless whoever came up with botting honestly
Considering the best class you can get in aq has to be farmed and can't be bought with ac. Yeah that's actually a good goal.

I loved going over to a friends house back in the day cause he had the internet and we would stay on New grounds all day long playing games and watching videos like stick death and the ultimate showdown. I was 9 when this game came out and it's almost been 20 years already!
I have not thought about this game in years and I was pleasantly surprised to hear how it progressed. My last year at school was 2005. there was 1 IT classroom that allowed kids to do "homework" during recess and it was always just full of kids playing this. I was always mad you could never just get work done.
I started playing AQ3D after watching this and tbh my favorite feature is being able to equip almost anything as a cosmetic while still using the gear that has the best stats. Now I can use the better, ugly gear but still look like an edge lord.
Also, I love that you can change your class freely to suit your needs whenever you want outside of combat.
Where it for me went downhill, is with the events after the dage vs nulgath war.. Ever since that, not a single event had that wow factor to me..

Artists and other creators nowadays get so caught up in making the absolute best content they can, but things like this are proof that it's not about the quality, it's about what you put into it. You can have fun and make something that is so far from perfect and it can become an important part of childhoods all over the world

Takes me back to grinding my ass off for the Ungodly Reavers of Nulgath, asking for my parents to buy the AQW calendar so I could redeem a code for the Chronomancer class, and absolutely losing my shit every year when they would launch the Talk Like a Pirate Day events because I loved those costumes. Good times, man. Good times.
For me it was 2011-2015 which were the golden times for me haha. Met some awesome friends who I still keep in touch with occasionally on social media. I still log in from time to time as well, just to see what's new
