Introducing the new "Folks" TACO scoring system (Tone, Audiovisual, Chair, Originality). This novel and scientifically validated scoring index utilises a simple 10-point scoring system, assigning a maximal score of 2.5 points for each of the four cardinal components of what makes a good FOLKS. Folks TACO user manual: T: Tone. Assess Rudy's usage of volume, pitch and intonation to appraise his overall mood as he enters the video. Was he confident and bullish, quiet but assured, or nervous and doubtful of how the FOLKS will go? Assign a maximum of 2.5 points for the perfect Tone. A: Audiovisual. Assess the audio quality and the background greenscreen before assigning a maximum of 2.5 points for the overall environment in which Rudy finds himself. C: Chair. An essential part of the FOLKS. The chair does what it wants. Assign the chair a maximum of 2.5 points. O: Originality. Assess the overall originality of the FOLKS and assign a maximum of 2.5 points. A total score of 10/10 equates to unsullied perfection. A score of 0/10 can be assigned when Rudy does not say FOLKS. Intermediate scores equate to anything in between. When comparing to previous iterations of FOLKS in your final appraisal, please clearly reference by video name and date so that other TACO users can maintain good inter- and intraobserver reproducibility.
Thank you for finally clearing that up, I was getting a lot of 6s that, if I ran them again, ended up as 9s. But now that I understand what I was doing wrong I'm not all flipped around.
I wish I could go back to the early 90's and tell my 12 year old self that these early sets I started my collection with would be THE cards to still have today. My younger stupid self.
Dude, you have no idea. When I was about seven or eight my dad bought me Star Wars CGC cards. He would buy multiple booster packs at a time and then bring them home to me so I could open them. I only got the first few Anthology boxes and up to cloud city or so before giving up on the game although I definitely remember when I was about eight or nine years old, my father telling me to keep the cards because one day they could be worth money. At the time of Darth Vader was only worth about $40 and when I I looked up prices in 2018 it was about the same price. Lucky for me. I started investing heavily around 2019 and then when Covid hit the prices went through the roof and now they are worth much more. It’s a fantastic game to get into and is probably the best card game ever made. Star Wars CCG by decipher. Merry Xmas
The mountain is nice because it's also the best OG mountain art and it's clearly distinguishable from an ABU mountain, if you know what you're looking at. I have a signed one from when I was a kid amongst all of my beta mountains and the Arabian Nights one will always be a favorite. If I'm fetching for a basic, I'm fetching the AN Mountain.
Younger player here. Met my goal this year of getting a playable antiquities set cube and finishing my old school deck. Been a good year! Antiquities may be my favorite set of all time.
It’s a blast to draft a set barely anyone ever had the chance to experience, isn’t it? 😁 Only about 15 cards left to finish mine! Congrats on finishing yours! 🥳
@@NerdAndProudOfIt Set cubes are great ways to put your cards that would sit in binders to use. I usually use LP condition for my cubes so you dont pay NM premium, but still look really nice in cubes. Currently my favorite way to play magic. Played the antiquities cube with family over break and it was a blast. Working on my the dark cube next.
When WOTC started reprinting everything that had value I jumped ship and now I strictly invest in 93/94 vintage. While vintage isn’t going to the moon it isn’t loosing value. I believe it’s just a matter of time before others come to the same conclusion.
Ever since Hasbro released Magic 30 , It broke the collector’s confidence in vintage Magic. If a teenager started playing Magic in 1993 at age 14, that person would be 46 years age . He or she would rather invest in the stock market or crypto before retiring. Cash is more important at retirement than game pieces.
I agree with other people’s sentiments, as a young player “old magic” to me was 9th edition or Mirriodin. So I do feel the draw for these old cards besides the high power cards is very low. The art is keeping it exciting but it’s way out of my price range! Thanks Rudy!
Careful... That Arabian Night binder might go crazy and Gatecrash into your Homeland Beta Legends. No Judgment... That set might Torment the hell of your collections. Its an Invasion due to a Dark Ascension that could only take an Hour of Devastation. I will give you a Jumpstart Rudy... You might not believe in Future Sight, my Vision or my Prophecy but you'll need to find some Alliances. Then build a Stronghold to help you pass the Tempest... The Apocalypse. Hopefully that Scourge, our Nemesis will fade in a Planar Chaos. Fate reforged, we will remember that we're Born of the Gods. We will survive. It's just Magic.
I had a low fever yesterday, still a little high today, so I'm watching Rudy while we take this ride to the bottom together! It'll either crash to 0 or race to the top, either way I'll make a killing...
chronicles was printed before the reserve list even came put. THe outcry over all the reprints is in a good part why the reserve löist ws created. So cards being in chronicales and on the reserve list is absolutely possible
The BEST CARD GAME ever made was Star Wars CCG by Decipher. It’s out of print however in the last four years or so prices have gone way up and are only going more with PSA, which is just starting to take off. No matter how you feel on grading, this game is awesome!
'97 baby here with a set of 10 unlimited duals, workshop, etc. I love old school print quality and just the flavor of it all. New school cards feel fake and cheap. Not a fan of revised though, cardstock is rough and colors bleak.
Wow, without the tapping, celestial prism is almost playable. I think crystal rod should do like the card says and give you one life for every blue spell played thereafter, with no maximum number of uses.
Rudy, you should acquire another arabian nights booster box. Then, you do a video showing then side by side, and crack one! You'd be showing proof of increaed scarcity so the value for the sealed one would go up, but also we would get the insane content of actually seeing a mythical Arabian Nights booster box opened
Yep. I like watching Rudy even thro I've stopped collecting years ago, but buying up old cards meant that people gave up ever getting them, and thus the price stagnated.
He who owns the majority of the physical supply and control over it, ultimately will determine the future pricing and availability on secondary markets! 🎉
If WotC did something similar with Magic the Gathering like the Pokemon guys did with Pokemon Pocket TCG.... Holy crap. Can you imagine? Start it out with the first set and then just move up from there. Release a new set every 2 months. "Fix" the "problem" cards and get people into loving OLD vintage cards again??? Hell WotC could just start PRINTING "new" old sets and just make bank. Will they? Nah. Power Creep too strong. Too many complaints. Meh.
I think wizards did the right thing by not flooding the market with wizards branded proxies. I also don't think blasting the market for the game piece Timmys would of help and possibly would of killed more confidence of your og legacy vintage players. Nothing wrong with flushing the 1 - 2 year Timmys out the vintage ... Keep in mind strong old trees take longer to grow 😉
So true, ArNi did nothing wrong. It was just an old set also hit by the M30 fiasco and almost absolute loss of faith in old Magic as a fallout of that M30 release. I still like and enjoy my ArNi cards, thanks for another set being shown!
Here’s what I guarantee will happen Rudy. Another company will come out with a better game than magic the gathering it’ll be superior in every way shape or form and it’ll pay back. The greatest heroes in the history of mankind who are facing prejudice from dismantling the deadliest gangs of hitman and inventing electricity with their own bare hands. Wizards response to the old school cards plummeting in value when people realize wait we’ve been playing a scab generic game this entire time that has been stealing from the greatest heroes in the history of mankind will be first and acknowledgment that people are thinking, I’m ashamed of myself for putting any more than 1/10 of a cent into magic the gathering if that’s all I put into supporting the trial lawyer that dismantled the deadliest gang of hitman and the deadliest gangs. So wizard response will be hey all we promised is we wouldn’t reprint these cards at regular size so they’ll make the cards 1/10 of an inch bigger than normal just off of standard and they’ll reprint all the old school cards and people will start forming leagues playing with the new different sized cards. Good luck personally I would feel like a troll to put any more than 1/10 of a cent and the magic the gathering when that’s all the tax dollars you paid to the trial lawyer who not only invented electricity but dismantle the deadliest gangs of hitman in the history of mankind. It seems crazy to put money into seemingly guaranteeing in the afterlife you’ll be on the wrong side of electricity and the deadliest gangs.
Let’s be honest, the market for vintage cards is very small, and I can’t really see it growing. If you were into Magic in the 90’s and got into vintage when you managed to accumulate wealth later in life to relive your youth (like many of us), you’ve already done that. Very few new players are drawn to old cards.
@TortaEnthusiast yup. I'm that schmuck 😂 New MTG player collector here, and while Timmy cracks "collector" boxes looking for expensive cards with fabricated scarcity and collectibility; I'm buying up all the vintage I can. Hi, my name is Schmuck, and I'm all about that vintage MTG.
The thing that really holds these old vintage sets back is the fact that they don’t have any rare variances or foils. If there were foils back then, the prices of these cards would be way more than what they are now. Anything after the four Horsemen (even some of these are questionable) but before Urza block will struggle. The reserve list helps a little bit with certain cards, but as power creeps up in game, old reserve list cards that are less powerful become less desirable. Couple that with the fact that there’s nothing foil or really all that rare or incredibly hard to pull, you’re gambling your money. Scarcity and speciality is key to success in the tcg world and most these sets don’t have that. Don’t get me wrong, I hope that they do succeed and prove me wrong but I feel like that’s the problem.
You're kidding right? Arabian nights is sooooo much more rare than any foil or variance garbage art that is coming out in New MTG these days. Try to find a nm Arabian nights card. It's tough. These cards are truly, truly rare and amazing. I honestly think that the reason why some of these cards, like even commons, aren't expensive is just due to ignorance about how special they really are. I buy old cards as often as I can for this reason
@ When it comes to Arabian nights in particular yes you’re right. And I don’t mean full arts or any of the other anime, furry culture, altart bullshit they make now. I’m talking about just plane oldschool foiling. But, the 95% of Magic’s financial support in the secondary market is all about cheap cards anymore. I certainly don’t like it that way but it is what it is, and most of the cards in Arabian Nights will never see game play ever again. Like I said, I really hope the secondary market really starts to realize just what it is that they’re missing out on in the collectors side of things, but with the way the market works in Magic, I just can’t see it happening. The market is very blatantly ignorant to old stuff like this. It seems almost as if they do it on purpose and wizards just goes along with it. In the end, all I’m saying is you would have a lot more money funneling into older sets like this if they had foils.
Rudy, Magic 30 was not a mistake. It did exactly what Wizards wanted it to. Look at all the new money going into newly printed sets… WoTC makes no money on the reserve list; It was a brilliant redirection of people’s attention and capital.
they literally destroyed all faith with magic 30, which is so stupid cause it could have been done right with no old borders and new art new art for the moxs and a reasonable master set kinda price

information can be a big hurdle. I've been
making more than $200k passively by just
investing through an advisor, and I don't have
to do much work. Inflation or no inflation, my
finances remain secure. So I really don't blame
people who panic.
Without a doubt! Ruth Ann Tsakonas is a trader who goes above and beyond. she has an exceptional skill for analysing market movements and spotting profitable opportunities. Her strategies are meticulously crafted on thorough research and years of practical experience.
how would you recommend i enter the crypto market? I am also looking at studying some traders and copying their strategy rather than investing myself and losing money emotionally. What's your take on this approach? and How can i reach her, if you don't mind me asking?
