If any game would pull it off, it might as well be a Metal Gear one. =P And yes, I was about to say the same. For how simple the sprites are, the animation is very impressive.
Yes, especially all those additional Codec conversations that most people would not even know about unless they called the team. Back then Konami (or rather Kojima's team) really did great attention to detail
Hey man this is Josh just watching your playthrough of metal gear for the game boy advance I played metal gear on the PS1 I hope this is the same one but I hope you're having a great day
Let's see... smoking ,alcohol, swearing, ethnic cleansing, terrorism, taking the Lord's name in vain, nuclear weapons... within the very intro of the game. Later the way the bosses die (especially Pyro Bison) is quite disturbing. Yeah... totally a game that deserves an E for Everyone rating xD
Did not know that there was a GBC version of this game. I've only ever heard people mention the PS1 game. I have never played a single Metal Gear game, but I'll definitely give this one a shot once I dive head first into this series.
I still have this cartridge. I remember asking my dad if he could buy me a GBC along with this game decades ago, I’m sure glad I did. I also remember playing this while my older brother played MGS2 on PS2.
same here, and the insane mazes you have to go through, and back through searching in 100 different sections without a clue. can't say i enjoyed it. quit after level 7. it's not really metal gear, it's a difficult maze/puzzle game. by far the most puzzle driven one in the series. no thanks
3 hours and everyone advice for the boss is "watch out for fire" well gee thanks. If i was snake id be pissed and wouldn't call these unhelpful assholes again. What do they think hes been doing for the last couple of hours? Enjoying a beach party? Joking aside its amazing this is all on gameboy! Seems like fun!
Even with inferior hardware, it managed to make good games that surpassed the old Nes. Imagine if they had released this version instead of the one that came initially
A 13 minute intro sequence for a GB game, quite a rarity. Plus the sprite movement is impressively smooth.

And then they drop a second title card after the first mission ends lol.
Metal Gear Solid is an 8-bit handheld game that somehow manages to feel like a big budget console release 👏 Nicely done, Konami!
Today, we have on Nintendo Switch
I Love this Game thx for Upload this i have beginning a German lets Play Of this Game
My grandmother gave me this game for Christmas long ago.
It's crazy how they managed to fit all of this into a 2MB cartridge
Yes, especially all those additional Codec conversations that most people would not even know about unless they called the team. Back then Konami (or rather Kojima's team) really did great attention to detail
Still miffed that we got that Metal Gear Solid collection recently that included Snake's Revenge but not this.
Hopefully they'll add it in the second volume.
They're not gonna get people to by volume 2 if they give away all the good stuff in vol 1.
From a mainstream audience appeal standpoint they already gave away the good stuff. The 2D Metal Gear games don't get a lot of love.
@@SomeOrangeCat They're adding more games for Volume 2 and it's rumored that one of the games is Guns of the Patriots.

Your gameplay of Ghost Babel is the best looking and sounding one on UA-cam currently. 👍 Much prefer it to all other ones.
Thank you very much! 😊

Love me some Ghost Babel, shame that it never got a sequel.

Buy the metal gear collection and start with the 1st metal gear for the NES then second metal gear Or the NES
@@davidconner641You mean MSX2. NES isn’t a different version that came after.
IGN gave this game a 10, way back when they rarely gave them out.
Still regret selling this game when I was younger.
They really packed a lot into this game.
The boss theme sounds like a re-arrangement of MG2: SS's Mechanical boss theme.
A game that tests the Gameboy Color's limits. 😮
Not really. Now Dragon's Lair on the other hand. How they fit a whole-ass Laserdisc game on a cartridge is the real wizardy.
@@SomeOrangeCat🙄
It has good animation and frame rate
This looks like a solid Metal Gear game. (Pun was intended)
I was looking at this and resident evil gaiden too add to my game it color collection but they both are going for over $90 dollars.

From what i remember of watching part of a playthrough years ago, much of the gameplay is similar to what Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake introduced.
These quotes were spoken by the AI Colonel in MGS2: 15:13, 1:32:44, and 3:18:43.
Fantastic video.
I didn't even know that this was on Game Boy at some point, LOL
this aesthetic in the screen like litle squared paper is made which process ? Photographic Camera filming an original gameboy on gameplay ???
It's a Retroarch shader.
I didn't even know there was a port of this iconic PS1 game on the GBC. It is definitely one of the games pushing the system, too.
It's not a port, it's it's own standalone game.
It's its own game subtitled Ghost Babel. Konami USA removed the subtitle and added -Solid for marketing purposes.
That intro was hella long for my lazy ass and i just dozed off right from the beginning
If Gander was mass produced like Ray, the mgs world would be fucked 😅
I have no patience for the stealth in this game

Chris is like meryl😂
I still need to finish the game on my own cartridge at some point.
How does a gaod console goes from good to worst?
This game is technically brilliant but it is limited by the hardware. Game boy cartridges also have a design flaw that can't be bypassed.
Even with inferior hardware, it managed to make good games that surpassed the old Nes.

Hope this ends up in MGS vol 2
Better than the NES games
I hate that for some reason I can’t remember this being a game…
Never hire a tweaker to design your buildings! Just a few more hall ways, zig zags and pitfalls should do er!!!!

Worst... port... ever.
It’s….not….a port.
