SvVAK ground target belts are extremely good for tearing aircrafts apart, despite stat cards. Get the belt mod as soon as possible.

You forgot one teeny tiny detail about the ShVaks....its damage seems to be based entirely on ping, unlike the Mine Shell or the Freedomcal. Go back and look at your footage, below 70 ping? Its a monster, above 85 ping? Its barely better than an MG and you just have to pour rounds down range to get more than worthless "hits".
I'm convinced the way Gaijin is calculating FI and HEF-SAPI rounds is severely bugged and based on ping, with Minengeschoss and API like the freedomcal they are only having to calculate a ball or a straight line with a fire modifer respectively and those are incredibly easy for a server to calculate, after all a sphere is the same from any angle and a straight line is just that. This BTW explains why freedomcals can nuke planes at 1Km+ when IRL all fighters equipped with them had convergence at 400m or less, this game is just drawing a straight line instead of doing accurate ballistics on the freedomcals.
But with FI rounds or HEF-SAPI you are drawing a cone filled with shrapnel, think a shotgun blast spread. The server has to calc how many fragments there are, how much mass they have, how much energy, whether they would intersect the target at an angle that would pen or not, and whether at their distance the mass would cause damage....that is a hell of a lot to calc on the fly and with a higher ping the server simply doesn't have the time to do this before the engagement TTL has passed, hence hit after worthless hit and having to throw twice or triple the rounds someone firing 151s or 50cals would.
@@Joe-nq6hy Yeah I took all the different birds with different belts and did flight testing and pretty much anything that uses a cone of shrapnel (HEF-SAPI, FI-T and to a lesser extent HEFT) are EXTREMELY ping sensitive while guns that only use a ball or straight line (50cals and Minengeschoss) damage model? Really not affected until you get into 150ms+ ping times.
And yes this is why the MGs on the Yaks are often better than the cannon and why the ones with the little 7.62mm ShKAS are flamethrowers while you can even have the 37mm on the Mig-17 just harmlessly bounce off Sabres, its because their cannon ammo is based on the cone damage model which in this game really doesn't work with pings above around 70ms. For those of us who can't ever seem to get a match below 90ms ping? It makes the Russian cannons about as effective as throwing vodka bottles.

"worst cannon round" then gijen added Sparks and for some reason Russian cannon rounds for some reason spark barely while Germans guns spark for days at times
(Yes I'm aware that Sparks is based on ping and pl, but when every I play Russia, I swear I get a ping of 0, every other nations I might as well be using sparklers ffs, gijen plz just remove Sparks, they help no one)
