I don't know why everyone's so focused on the prayer part of each video. They're uploading FREE college lectures! That's amazing! If you like the prayer, then watch that minute or two at the beginning of each video. If you don't like the prayer, just skip that small section of time.

This lecture opened my eyes to what I thought I knew about neurotransmitters and the processes that our brain and body experience moment by moment... Love these lectures.

Excellent professor, excellent explanations. This is how a professor should explain in class. I wish all the other professors, who doesn't know how to explain, watch this video.

I am currently in an advanced psychopharmacology course for nurse practitioner school at SLU. Our professors this summer decided to give us a "template" instead of providing us with lectures. This professor has saved my grade. I have no psych/mental health experience, mostly ICU and research. I was lost and thanks to youtube I was able to find lectures that were AWESOME. Perhaps I should pay my 2300 in tuition to youtube! THANKYOU THANKYOU

  • @Calmerism

This is not a lecture on myths but on actual science - why did he pray at the start? This not the time and place for that, completely inappropriate.

Ummm BECAUSE IT'S A CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY AND GOD CREATED SCIENCE I'll pray for your salvation

@@conlawmeateater8792 no you should really read your Bible. God only forgives those who repent. And you MUST believe in Christ to receive salvation. Unbelievers do not enter the kingdom I could give you thousands of scriptures that prove that.

Excellent passion and teaching style. However , it seems teach has a negative bias toward drugs. MDMA has been proven as an effective treatment for ptsd. It will more than likely be legalized in 2024. Touting only negative effects of drugs shows bias. More balance would be helpful as these students are impressionable.

For those saying the prayers are inappropriate and that God and science don't go hand in hand; don't realize how ridiculous they sound. God is the creator of ALL. If you say human biology is science, you should also take into account the fact that God created humanity and thus, everything that we are made up of. Praying for everyone's salvation..

is he praying to god before he supposedly talks about scientifically proven things? does he not realize god is a completely unscientific concept and actually is the starting point of many, many massacres and horrible things in the history of the world?

The fact that two different disciplines have different interpretations of the same event does not mean they do not share overlaps despite differences, said differences in interpretation do not take away from the importance of the subject matter in question.
Sure you can say that a person with depression is either possessed by the devil or suffers from a chemical imbalance, while one may helpful than the other depending on the circumstances. Are you trying to communicate a severe problem in their day-to-day life and advising them seek help? Or are you actually trying to fix the problem- it doesn't actually matter, they both still tell you that something is wrong with the person, which is a hell of a lot better than not being aware there's a problem in the first place, or worse, denying its existence.
