Being an ex guardsman 💂♂️ during the seventies London was always on a high alert but the general public were always great my face is on many taken photos loved every minute I was in the privilege service god save the king & family

Yes I have been Buckingham Palace before, many years ago. My Ex Husband with HMS Forward, Royal Navy Reserves, we were invited to the Queens Garden Party! Around June/July 1994

The UK is nothing like what it was back then. An American General and some our own have said the British Army is a tier two force and that if war kicked off tomorrow the Army would not be able to field anything tier-one for years.
This means at this stage NATO overtime will probably ignore us more and more as we have nothing substantial to offer them

Hi from here in Gloucester: I just thought of something you can mention in your great commentary which may give some extra interest to your subscribers. That is how to recognise the different Guards from their uniform and specifically the coat buttons down their fronts, also the colour of the feathers in the side of the bearskins. I won’t tell you in this comment in case I get it wrong but it is easily found out on line. Hope you find this comment useful as an inclusion in your descriptions of the Kings guards. Mind you there is also the other regiments that fill in like the Gurkhas, the Lite Brigades and any others that might serve at the palaces from time to

17:48 Never seen that gate before but that's clearly got something to do with Canada. The shield on the main gate is the original 1867/8 Great Seal of The Dominion of Canada as prescribed by Queen Victoria. It's a quartering of the four founding provinces, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Their arms are repeated individually in the small shields on the gate from left to right in the same order, as well as the shields for Manitoba and Prince Edward Island at the extreme left and extreme right respectively, those being the 5th and 7th Provinces to join Confederation. British Columbia (6th) doesn't seem to be represented there but they didn't have distinctive arms until 1906, using instead the crest of the Royal Arms (crowned lion on a crown) which is present at the top of the centre gate, and so adding it again elsewhere to represent BC was probably considered redundant and not required. Very cool and I'll definitely be checking this out when I finally make it to London one day.

Think she meant the guards who were marching with their Rifles are not loaded, in which case she is right.
In hindsight, she was likely referring to the guards. At the time of filming with security visibly heightened, I wanted to ensure everyone knew the armed forces were fully present and ready to protect at all costs. Thank you for your clarification and i very much appreciate you tuning in 🙏
