- I apologize for saying Classic "Vibes" instead of "Vibe". I've had it wrong this whole time..yikes :) I also forgot to mention that I've often heard these come pretty much ready to go out of the box, so I'm not sure how much mine has been influenced by another player setting it up first, but I think it's probably a pretty good example of how a new one would be. I appreciate you guys watching, this has been fun! See you in the next one.
Golden Age for getting excellent, affordable guitars. Squire is making a serious go at keeping the market for the starter guitars.
Glad you are feeling better!! Awesome travel guitar🎸🎸🤘🏻🤘🏻
I really enjoy Ashley’s videos. Her appreciation of her guitars and what she likes about them is so interesting and informative.
George, that is so nice of you to say. I'm so glad you enjoy the content :) I really appreciate it!
Thanks for making another great video. Glad you're feeling better. I love me some Squiers, dating back to 1991 when I got my first guitar, a made in Korea Squier II Stratocaster. Now I've got a couple of 40th Anniversary Vintage Stratocasters. The neck on them is amazing. Love them. Pretty much a blinged out 70s Classic Vibe.
Dang, those 40th Anniversary ones are nice! I've drooled over them from afar. Enjoy for me!!
I like your review style, you get the important info across really well:) My recent searches for this guitar must have brought me here, probably gonna be my first electric. Best of luck with your channel!!
I gigged for many years with Squire and Epiphone guitars. With a good setup my Squires played as well as my Fender. But my Fender had better pickups because my Squires were the bullet series so, good wood and neck, not so good electronics. My "knock around guitar" is a Harley Benton DC junior with a p90 pickup, only cost me $160. It stays on a stand to easily grab whenever I'm inspired to play. If it gets scratched, dented, and dusty I'm okay with that, lol. My Gibsons stay in their cases and only really get used for recording or gigs. Glad to hear you're feeling better, you're looking adorable. 😊
I believe your channel is super fun 'cause you're being super honest and you tell really nice stories about the guitars. Plus it's always great that you play at the end so we can enjoy the sound of those amazing instruments!
BTW, I feel like you need a Gibson Les Paul Reissue haha. If you love your LP epiphone, you're going to be obsessed with those!!
I'm afraid to get one for that very reason! I'm trying to just have the Epiphone fill my Les Paul needs, but I'm sure it won't be long before I cave in 😅 Thank you for always leaving such nice comments, it's super appreciated!
I gotta say i won't sit through very many 9 minute guitar videos where not a note is played but i sat through yours and enjoyed it very much. Although I was initially expecting to hear you demo the guitar i found it just as interesting to hear why you chose it, why you bonded with it and how much it means to you. Ive seen a hundred videos of those being played, used to own one myself so I know how they play and sound already. Thanks for a pleasant little surprise 😊
This comment seriously means a lot to me. Thank you so much for not only taking the time to sit out the video, but to also give feedback. Very much appreciated! Hope your weekend is off to a great start 🎸🎸
Hey Ashley I love the gutiar that's really nice im glad that u are sticking with it im getting a classic vibe I love the 50s white blonde its sweet im glad u are feeling better b safe and good luck have a good trip love the vids thanks hope to see you soon rock on bye
Thanks for sharing this with us! Pretty guitar too! I have a 1989 Made IN USA Fender Squier Stratocaster black with white pick guard and hardshell case. I was just finding that it's pretty rare to have a USA made Squire. My dad got it for me new in 1992 just after my mom passed away from cancer. I was 12, still have the Squier in my collection in perfect condition still. Been a good guitar, plays like butter.
Wow, what an awesome guitar you have. The year, the fact that it was made in the USA and the color combo. NICE!! Thank you so much for watching and sharing some of your story with me. It's funny how these guitars can tie other memories in with them.
@@AshleyOffset Yes ma'am, that's true. Prayers over you and your heartbeat by the way. Hoping that you get back to 100% 👍🏻✝️
Sweet looking strat!!! I love the stained finish of the headstock. I know I endorsed Squiers in the past, but I can never give enough love to the affordable guitars. Enjoyed this video and hope you enjoy your travels!
Yes! The coloring on it is just good :) Thank you for watching another one!
It looks like you have some nice guitars will you do a video of your collection?
I’ve got a 2011 Classic vibe Strat and it really feels great to play and a quality instrument 👍
I want a Jaguar next!
Hi Ashley. Love your videos. I started trying to make more videos about my guitars recently and found your videos through my dad. I have a travel guitar and I’ll be doing a review on it soon. It’s already snuck into one of my mini amp reviews. 😜
You have an awesome channel, Rose! Looking forward to your travel guitar video 😀
I've been looking forward for the review on the Classic Vibe. I recently got one really similar, although the candy apple red really seems tempting now! As per the great BB King's advice, you don't need to work so hard. Just use a set of 9-46s and it'll be just fine. BTW, can I ask what year is yours made? (You can check the first numbers in the serial number)
2021. Legendary BB King! He's one of my favorites. Sounds like solid advice!! Thank you for the awesome comment :)
Glad you feel better. That guitar is really pretty. I have bought several "throw around" guitars but they never turn out that way for me so I get what you mean. We love our guitars regardless I think. As far as for travel amp I got a Fender Mustang Micro Headphone Amplifier. I like mine. Check it out if you haven't already. Can put that in your pocket and hit the road!!! Safe travels!
Well that amp sounds completely awesome and perfect for my needs! Thank you for sharing :)
My traveling/practice/beater guitar is an Epiphone Les Paul Standard ‘60s. My go-pro guitar is a Gibson Les Paul Standard ‘60s. Makes it easier to transition between the two. I want to check out a CV Jag or Mustang or Jazzmaster eventually.
Sounds like the perfect travel/pro situation! I bet they are beautiful guitars. CV offset would be awesome!
Nice guitar Ashley...those Classic Vibe Strats snd Tellys are nice. .if you really want to try some nice ones look at the Sire T (Telly) and S (Strat) guitars. Those are really nice and play like a dream and affordable too... also glad you are feeling better ....
It's so funny you say that because I've been looking at the Sires heavily this past week wondering.. haha
Thanks for watching the video!!
First of all, "fresh" describes your videos best - the perspective of someone newly discovering the great aspects of guitars on the market is priceless, especially to us old folks who remember the passion from years past. Secondly, Classic Vibes are as good as the Fenders we bought in the 60's, 70's. 80's etc. Third, price point should never matter if you love the guitar (my fav with others worth so much more is a $400 tele partscaster); lastly you are inspiring a whole new generation and that is the very best. Love your channel. All the best to you!!!!!
This comment nearly made me cry! Wow. What kind words you had for me! I really appreciate your perspective on guitars as time has gone on. What an interesting time we are in, especially regarding these "budget" guitars. Thank you again for your words :)
I have several Squier CV guitars & basses. They are probably the best budget guitars available. Thanks for sharing yours with us.
Thank you for watching! It's good to know that the CV basses are also just as good!
I just got this exact guitar for my birthday. I knew I wanted a squier and the 60s classic vibe is my favourite look of all time.
I've been playing acoustic since I was a kid, so I wanted something that wouldn't be a difficult transition. It hasn't disappointed. It's really easy for a beginner to figure out and play on.
I sat playing with it today and I fell in love. It is so smooth, it's easy to get all sorts of nice tones. It only took me a minute to get comfortable with it.
You mention the string tension and as someone who's always played an acoustic I had to laugh! Not in a mean way, but for me the string tension on the 60s vibe is like heaven compared to practising pieces on a banged up acoustic! I couldn't believe how easy it was to bend the strings and slide up and down the fretboard. I'm sort of glad I played the acoustic first now!
So glad you are enjoying it! And you are definitely set now that your roots are connected to acoustics. Whenever I pick my acoustic back up I'm like "welp, not gonna be able to play about 80 percent of my songs on this thing" 😅
You go guitar gal. I just bought my first Sguire last month. I'm very impressed with the quality of these guitars. I have many high end players and this squire I has is very good. $450 new.
Those are actually pretty good, trusty and versatile, if set up properly.
I have a Cort kx300 and it was very inexpensive but the light weight made it quickly become my favorite. It's awesome that you can save money and still get amazing instruments!
Yes it is awesome! I've never held a Cort before, but you had me at light weight! Sounds like perfection :)
Very Cool, Thankyou. Stunning 3 color Sunburst Classic Vibe. The 3 color Burst is about the only Strat color I do not have lol. Not really, but yes I do have too many Strat style guitars .... if that is possible. I do have a stunning 2 color burst Affinity Strat that is maybe the most amazing finish in my collection. All the best.
That Affinity Strat sounds beautiful! It also sounds like you may "need" a 3 color burst to round out your collection 🤣
Good grief, girl. You are a sweetheart ... we can't help but love you.
I have a Sunburst 50s Classic Vibe Strat. Made in China 2010 model. It has an Alder body and bone nut. Plays great, nice fretwork. The only mod I made was to swap out the pot metal block for a custom made SS one.
I have a classic vibe Tele! They are well built, solid guitars!
Totally agree! Enjoy that guitar :) Thank you for watching!
About 25 years ago I saved up enough money to buy a Squire by Fender (as they called them back then). I traded it in for a higher end guitar years later but I still miss that guitar. It probably wasn't as good as my American Professionals, but I wish I'd kept it.
I know exactly what you mean! I think we all have that "one that got away". Thank you for watching!
Seems like Fender has taken the lighter shades out of the 3-color sunburst. I saw one today at a dealer and was surprised to see more of a tobacco sunburst body. The rep told me the shades vary upon delivery. On their site, a nice orange multi-tint but pure tobacco burst in the store.
Love the "classic" sunburst color scheme.
Me too :)
Is this a new guitar that you just got? Its very nice looking!
Thanks, Mark! I love the way it looks too. I got it a couple years ago but baby it to try and keep it looking new :)
Hey , I just bought my first used guitar, a Classic Vibe Tele.. I think my GAS has eased off a bit for the time being..😅 By the way, whenever I travel, I always take my 10w Frontman with me... On decent, low volume, no louder than a TV , no own ever knows I am playing, let alone complain... Just putting it out there,so you can enjoy more...😊
Haha, I love it when the GAS temporarily goes away! Enjoy that Tele!! Good tip about the Frontman, I may have to take one next trip! Thanks for watching :)
I bought a Squier Bullet Strat as my travel guitar (a lot of hotel time for work out of town) about 5 years ago - I think it was on sale for about $129 (!)... a few yrs later it seemed like the color (surf green) / Bullet combo was unavailable to get again if it ever needed to be replaced... and I like that guitar so much I ended up not wanting to risk it as "expendable" on the road LOL... so I bought a cheap Donner tele (which I also like quite a lot) as my new travel guitar...
Oh my gosh, I feel your pain. It sounds like you get exactly what I'm saying. What is one day the "expendable one" soon becomes the adored one, and then we have to get a new one to replace it :) lol
Your an inspiration...thanks
Wow, that's so nice of you to say! Thank you for the kind words :)
Thank you
Its cool that you also cant feel a difference between a mexico and a classic vibe
Also I think the neck is regular maple but they put a tinted laquer on the 50s and 60s classic vibes and the 70s are a lot paler
Good observation, I can see the 70s ones in my head and now that you mention it, I do recall them being more pale!
So shocked by classic vibe , I’ve played mostly $1200+ guitars over the past 15 yrs, when I was a kid my first squire was not great… recently by chance I tried a classic vibe tele and was blown away how far they came!
Me too! So glad we have better options in that price range today. Thank you for watching!🎸
Of course you already know we love your videos but I don't see any reason not to tell you again LOL! 2 very interesting characteristics of this interesting version guitar - that you may already know or that someone may have pointed out. But as someone that builds guitars and started by copying Fenders - are very unique in the Squier / Fender lineup. One - no skunk stripe for the truss rod channel (which is era correct for a 60's Fender - and found on some very inexpensive Squiers but only because of cost - not because of the desire to replicate the 60's vintage). There was no need to put a channel in the back of the neck for the truss rod since Fender were for the first time using rosewood fingerboards in the 60’s instead of all maple necks and in the early 60's the maple necks required the skunk stripe but maple / rosewood combo necks did not. In the years since Fender and some Squiers have kept the skunk stripe even with rosewood boards for the sake of tradition (or because factory machining made it easier). Two - walnut truss rod plug (look at all other Squiers or Mexico Fenders and you will only find either no plug, or a black plastic plug. This is a big deal since authenticating “made in America” Fenders long relied on the identification of the walnut truss rod plug as one differentiating factors. Really cool guitars for a variety of reasons. I believe they will be collectible down the road. Best wishes as always!
This is all very good to know! I appreciate you taking the time to lay it out for me. As you know, I love learning stuff like this! THANK YOU!!
I should clarify that the lack of a skunk stripe on the classic vibe in my opinion was not a cost cutting measure but a desire to keep the authenticity of the 60's version (may have even cost Fender more to change the CNC setup for this guitar). Just a super good guitar and on my radar. Just missed out on a great one that a buddy who's a tech at Guitar Center offered to hold for me but I was out of town and the store wouldn't let him save it so he bought it!!
I think the cv squiers are just as good as the mim Mexican fenders also the paranormal are really nice too for half the price I love them im not a brand snob it's all about fun ya know I hope u have fun too.the xaviers and firefly are great too on par with cv squiers u should check them out as well awesome.
Totally agree! Xaviers and Firefly sound interesting. Will keep them on my radar!
Nice Guitar but..I am not a fan of Pau Ferro or Indian Laurel, not only does it not look or feel as good as Rosewood but I find it dries out quicker so I will buy Squires with Maple Fingerboards. The new Vintera II line is exciting because now you don't have to pay a premium for a Rosewood Fingerboard. Thank you for the video Ashley :)
I actually really like Indian Laurel. Pretty sure it’s in the same family. In any case, I like that more than Pau Ferro any day.
I'm really not either, especially the lighter looking ones. I've been drooling over some Vinteras! Thank you for watching :) and for the comment!
Nice 🙂
Thank you!
Is the body the same thickness as a Fender strat ? I find with some squires the body seems thinner which I don’t like !
That's a good question! It seems about the same thickness as my American and Mexican Strats, maybe ever so slightly thinner. But nothing like the thinness of the Squier Bullet Tele I have. That one is much thinner than the Fender Teles!
Cool ! Thanks 😊
I’ve been thinking of getting a classic vibe for a while just as a gigging guitar but not sure if I go with that or a Mexican strat!
I’ve retired my U.S Tele …..
@@John-vk4gs Let me know what you end up choosing! I don't think you can go wrong either way 😀
@@AshleyOffset cheers, will do
If you haven't checked out Sire Guitars, I think you really should! I think there quality will blow your southern mind!
Thanks! They have been on my list, but perhaps now I will prioritize getting one a little sooner! :)
@@AshleyOffset I think you will be super impressed with their quality. I'm speaking from a T7 ( Tele ) style guitar.
They are hard to get at the moment. Everything on backorder.
Made in ?
