From FENDER:
A tribute to the 1960s evolution of the Strat®, the Classic Vibe '60s Stratocaster creates incredible tone courtesy of a trio of Fender-Designed alnico single-coil pickups. Player-friendly features include a slim, comfortable "C"-shaped neck profile with an easy-playing 9.5"-radius fingerboard and narrow-tall frets, as well as a vintage-style tremolo system for expressive string bending effects. This throwback Squier model also features 1960s-inspired headstock markings, rich-looking nickel-plated hardware and a slick vintage-tint gloss neck finish for an old-school vibe.

I'd probably still wanna get a player strat instead, given that they are often in the upper 600 range these days. But I respect squier for making such funky variations of strats, they are gorgeous.
When I look at squier cv, I would rather buy player. When I look at player, I would rather player plus. When I listen to player plus, I would rather am perf. So good job by Fender, but still didn't buy any of those.
My son got his first Squier stratocaster metallic red 25 years ago, still in fabulous condition. Plays today as well as years ago. Will never let this guitar leave the family.
I have one of earlier 2012 versions. I think they were specced out a bit better back then with a rosewood fretboard & alder body. Looks nice though. Thanks for the review!
You're quite right, I have a 2010 ( along with several other CV 60's and 50's ) and the body tonewood is indeed alder and the fingerboard rosewood...
I'm a bit surprised that they used nato on these new series...
The overall tone is a bit darker...
Surely you should adjust the truss rod first then set action height???
Wouldnt you adjust saddles last?
Winner Winner Chicken Dinner! 😉
Well played JOHN! Really love the Classic Vibe Line of Strat’s.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It’s actually a bone but, not synthetic bone. Put Fender Pure Vintage 61 pickups in my three tone burst CV. Great guitar for sure!
I assume you got one with a well cut nut. Not always the case. Those frets sound gritty and could use a polish. Other than that, I would like a thicker block, but I find it is really difficult to order one off our favorite on-line retailer that is guaranteed to fit a CV Strat. I see this Strat has a traditional switch. This is good and not always the case in Classic Vibes, with many having a circuit board switch. CTS pots and a Switchcraft jack would be a nice economical upgrade. Just for esthetics, another cheap upgrade is a matching 3-ply backplate to match the front pickguard. I would keep the rest as is.
That Goldtop Florentine LP - instant crush 😍😍😍

Nice review. I like mine, but it's a partscaster. It's a 50s Fiesta Red body with 60s electronics and 60s neck.
same-ish here... I have a 50s roadworn Black nitro body with a 60s classic series neck. I like it.
These can make good mod platforms, but keep in mind they are metric. So that means you can't swap the bridge. Pickups, jack, NP.
Shouldn't the truss rod adjustment be the first step as it influences ALL the other settings?
They are becoming less attractive with inflation, i got one in 2019 and cheaper, the tuners really suck and need to be replaced.
Junk. I’ll take my $429 and purchase a Sire or All In One thanks anyways
