You can use a Trickle Star power strip to turn everything off when you turn your RPI4 off (use the Pie as control, and then use the lcd/leds/amp/etc as the switch to off when the control Pie turns off, that way the whole system and everything will turn off when you turn your pie off.
I just have it in the mame-libretro folder. I installed the lr-mame2010 emulator from source, and then updated it from source. The rom I have won't launch using fba or lr-mame2003.
Great mod and great video! I'm working on a TMNT cab right now! Could you describe how you wired your speakers? Is it 3.5mm out from lcd controller board to 3.5 aux in? And then is it speaker wires out to the original speakers? Did you have to cut and strip the original speaker wires since they are also a 3.5mm jack? Any details are appreciated! Also, I love how your deck looks after the clear coat! Any recommendations on polyurethane in terms of brand, type, and technique? Thanks man!
Ahh... thank you sir! But yes just a 3.5mm Male to Male standard aux cord, and connect it from your LCD board to your amp. The amp I have listed in the description is not the cheapest option at $36, however it comes with the 3.5mm that you will need and a power brick. I mention this because some of the cheaper amps don't include any of that. So that amp will make life easier if you don't already have one. But for the speaker wire, yes you are correct. I just used the original speaker wire, cut it, and stripped the coating off and you should be good. That wire is pretty thin and short so be careful with it. If yours is too short, then you could order speaker wire online, but then you have to do some soldering. Hope that was helpful. I will try to locate the polyurethane that I used and get back with you.
@@originalconsolegamer8572 Thank you so much! One follow-up question...Did you just cut the original speaker wire right at the 3.5mm jack and strip it? If so, then what do you plug those wires into on the amp, the black/red of either the left or right output? If you do that, don't you just essentially get either the left audio or the right audio coming out both speakers as opposed to stereo sound? Sorry if this is a dumb question!
@@bryanfoley4027 No problem for the follow up. But yes I just cut it at the male adapter, and stripped it. Then ran one to L and one to R. I do know that sound it coming out of both. But I'm not 100% positive that it's stereo. That is a valid question though. I'll see if I can verify this weekend.
How does Golden Axe, Marvel superheroes vs street fighter and Marvel vs capcom 2 play on the raspberry pi4. Im thinking of modding my tmnt arcade1up just like yours
If you are referring to Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder, then it plays great. The original Golden Axe plays great as well, but the Arcade1Up Golden Axe Cabinet was a huge part of my desire to do this mod. All the games from the Arcade1Up Marvel vs Capcom and X-Men vs Street Fighter cabinets also play great on here. To be honest I really want to pick up the Marvel vs Capcom cabinet, but I'm having a hard time bringing myself to do it since they play so well on here. As far as Marvel vs Capcom 2, the arcade version will no play on here. However, you can get the Dreamcast version to play on here as well as the Dreamcast version of NFL Blitz. Dreamcast games are hit or miss as far as quality and take a little more effort. But if you get that far, then you should be able to figure it out.
@@originalconsolegamer8572 Thank you so much for your advice i really appreciate it. I really wanted Golden Axe cabinet but if Revenge of death adder plays the same then modding my tmnt cabinet is the way to go. @@mateos4514 I'm trying to be strong my friend. Space is limited though, but those are some of my favorite games. I mean it is nice to have just dedicated cabinets. The recommended buttons from Amazon from the video gave me a usb encoder error and even crashed emulation station randomly. Use cautiously. I tried troubleshooting over three days and in the end nothing. The setup with the arcade buttons were a breeze though so I wished it worked out but I had to use hikig arcade buttons from Amazon…much more of a hassle to wire but now my arcade is perfect!
The polly has held up extremely well and I have no regrets doing it. It was an old can and I threw it away, so not sure the brand unfortunately. I did 4 cabinets with it, and I used the same brush. By the 4th cabinet I was starting to get brush residue in the can and just tossed both. So that was my fault for not properly cleaning the brush or just buying a new one. The first 3 cabinets came out great though and would do it again!
RetroPie should recognize the controllers while booting up. If you've already added the controllers to RetroPie, and you are using the correct 4 player version of the Rom. Then the problem is more that likely in the Raspi Configs or the MAME settings. For the MAME settings make sure to plug in a keyboard and then press tab once the game has launched to access. It's possible that the input for player 3 and 4 is not set up. And similar for the Raspi Configs. Look in there for input and make sure that the 3rd and 4th player inputs are set up. That's about as good as I can suggest without knowing your exact setup. Good Luck!
No worries, but I'm using the built in speakers to be clear. And I had the sound working without the extra amp, but you are not able to adjust the sound and for me the sound was so low that I could barely hear it. With the extra amp you are just channeling the sound through the built in speakers, but you can now adjust the sound. It's possibly to do so without the extra amp, but I believe it's more difficult than purchasing an amp.
However, if you are doing this on a vertical screen like the Galaga or Pac-Man, then you will need to use the full desktop image. I would advise against this unless you have to though.
What is the cost you think if I already bought one set of light up buttons for the stock game...like I have 3 light up buttons from DIY retro for each turtle on the way now... and I am replacing all the sticks with Sanwa because the cabinet I have I think was a Walmart display I bought from liquidator and I wanted all new sticks. I do have a light up marquee coming from arcade game factory. I am also curious about the polyurethane as I need to replace the deck protector is that from like Lowe’s painting department? How long to dry and how did you make sure it was even?
@@concertsandvinyl The polyurethane should be in Lowes painting department yes. I believe i had fast dry and it took between 4-6 hours to dry.
