Thanks for posting this. I just finished installing my marquee and this was a HUGE help!
I just got my tmnt a1up and thank you so much I purchased my light up marquee and I can't wait to install it. I subbed liked and appreciate your review. Joe T COSH approved ✊ turtle 🐢 power !
Great review on this marquee! Now I want one for my cabinet 👍
I was kinda worried it would look home made or just slightly off, but it looks great and looks and feels like it was always on the game.
@@GeekDadLife that's the chance we have to take man unfortunately arcade1up doesn't have anything official but overall nice marquee
@@hectormancilla9855 I'm surprised they haven't yet, seems like missed revenue opportunities. Maybe most future games will have light up marquees?
@@GeekDadLife that's what I was thinking future ones might start to have light up marquees but you know that means they will jack up prices. I'm sure theres a reason why they haven't though.
Awesome man... I just replaced my TMNT Marquee and this video was very helpful step by step. 👍🏾
Arcade game factory make quality products. I have a light up marquee for my Mortal Kombat cabinet. Next is to light up my TMNT marquee. Great video!!
Yeah a month later it still works and looks great!
Jay! I didn't recognize your face in this video's thumbnail or your voice in its intro, but I literally lol'd when your name came up on the screen!
I was an avid listener of your and Jack's podcasts back in the day, including every second of your LOST stuff, the Ramblecast, the Married Man Show (goodness, how is Warm Taffy these days??), etc. etc., but I fell off at some point after LOST ended and didn't know you guys kept at it, so it was a nice hit of nostalgia to realize you published just the video I was looking for for my TMNT Arcade1Up cabinet!
Thanks for the video! I am considering The Arcade Game Factory's light up marquee, but I'm curious how the actual TMNT art portion of it is constructed. Is it a decal stuck to a piece of clear plastic? Is it removable without having to remove the entire marquee from my cabinet? I am considering this marquee as an item to have Eastman and Laird sign if I have a chance to meet them at a convention, but am trying to determine if that would be a feasible idea or not. Would I have to remove the entire marquee and bring it to a convention in order to get the art portion signed?
Thanks for your help!
You could get them to sign it before installing, I haven't attempted to take it out after the fact, but taking the original one out was easy. So I would thing this wouldn't be too bad either.
Thanks for showing how to install this marquee. Happy new year! :)
You're welcome, happy new year to you as well!
Thanks for the help, daddio!
Hi, great video. I'm from the UK & I'm awaiting arrival of my TMNT machine, can't wait. Do you know if this kind of mod would work in the UK?
Just bought my TMNT cab. Yours looks great. I have the Golden Tee cab with the lit marquee from 1UP and was thinking about this for the Turtles cab. Worth the $65?
To me it was absolutely worth it. Having my two 1UP's be lit up makes a huge difference in the look of my game room. I've seen some people comment on here that their kits were broken, but mine worked great. So hopefully their QC gets better and better.
@@GeekDadLife where did u get again I didn't quite catch that do have a link I would really appreciate it
Thank you for the video! Did you need to drill new holes for the speakers? Also, does the marquee power on with the main power switch on the control deck?
No there were pre drilled holes for the screws around the speaker, but I did have to screw in holes for the middle section. The Marquee powers on when I turn the on switch to the game :)
Thx for info. I wanted one of those marquees! Now I'm def gonna get one.
It definitely makes a difference in its appearance and feels and looks so much more like a arcade game with the light up marquee.
What is the adapter that comes on the marquee plug?
Ordered mine cause of your review but my marquee won’t light up all the time . I’ve been able to get it to light up twice seems to be something to do with the adapter idk any advise?
Is that a 12v connector before you put the adapter on?
I have the first generation PAC-MAN cabinet. Is there a way I can use one on that one?
Thanks for your Video it help me how to put my own TMNT Light Marquee
Glad I could help!
I ordered mine from the same site and it hasn't come in yet ordered mine weeks ago but none the less can't wait for mine to come in
It took mine a few weeks longer to arrive than original estimated. My guess is they've gotten a bunch of orders and it's taking a while to get through them. I hope yours arrives soon!
I just got an email from them, saying my order has shipped. I ordered the Pac-Man marquee.
Did you have light bleed at the top of the monitor where the speaker board meets the top of the monitor?
What is that little power adapter it comes with? That goes into that pcb? I got mine from arcade mod up and it uses a splitter with the power cord. I want this adapter. Please tell me what it is
Interesting that its missing for two people, hopefully its not a problem that a lot of people are experiencing
So mine did not come with the adapter piece....where can I get it at? What is it called exactly??
Do u have the link for the part been looking around a light up marquee had no luck with it yet for my TMNT
Here is a direct link www.thearcadegamefactory.com/store/store.php?rn=668&action=show_detail
There's no screw holes for the 3 in the middle section between both speakers. Did you just screw them and made your own?
which one are you talking about? The only one I had to "make" were on the two black screws that hold in the marquee, and that is by design.
@@GeekDadLife right at 3:52 and then it magically showed then screwed in at 3:59. The middle where 3 screws originally went when removing the speakers. Silver screws, not the 2 black ones. Did you screw those in as well?
Is there anything on the actual led strip you need to do to turn on? I have power adapter plugged in, original audio cables plugged in, and then actual led light up marquee with adapter plugged into the light bulb icon jack. What am I doing wrong?
It sounds like you're doing everything right, it may just be a bad unit.
will the arcade game factory blackout lightup marquee fit on the ninja turtles cabinet?
I don't think it will, you need to go with the Gen 3 option.
Does it stay lit up when the machine is plugged in, even when the machine is powered off? Or does it turn on & off with the machine?
I would believe it turns off with the machine since it's connected to that power source. I wish it had a on/off switch.
For the marquee did you pay $54.00
With shipping it was more, i think it was 64 with shipping
Do you know what type of adapter is on the marquee? Mine didn’t come with one.
I want to know what adapter that is as well
I found it. It’s a 5.5mm x 2.1mm to 3.5mm x 1.35mm dc power converter plug
Did they change the way the adapter is made? Or did they forget to include it?
My marquee doesn't light up and I followed each step exact. Machine turns on, controls work, there is audio, but the light doesn't come on. I have it plugged into the jack with the light bulb icon with the included adapter that has a red end.
Mine also doesn’t work so pissed!
Do you know how I would power the light up marquee if i replaced the monitor controller with an hdmi one that I use for my raspberry pi?
I am trying to find the same. Please reply if you found an answer.
@@jons9239 I found out you need a y splitter. thearcadefactory I ordered from is inlcuding one for me and splicing the end of the led strip.
@@edwinyi7064 Thanks for the reply. I plan on buying my marquee from the same place. Do I need to ask them to split the led strip or is that something they just do?
@@jons9239 gotta ask them. Send them an email letting them know you wont be using the stock pcb.
Followed all the steps and the marquee doesn't light up. I'm sure all wires are plugged in correctly. Cab turns on with sound, no light.
hmm might be a bad unit, I would contact them and see if they can send you a replacement.
@@GeekDadLife I think there's no power going to the jack with the light bulb icon. I would need to get a y adapter splitter wire to use with the power cord to power on cab and light up marquee as well. Any idea what kind or what to get, size wise etc? I think Arcade Game Factory has y adapter for the 3rd gen light but not sold separately.
They sent me a broken TMNT Marquee, waste of $68.05 IMO
Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that, hopefully they can send you a new one?
Bought mine. Followed this awesome video and it didnt work. Womp womp
