Great heads up!
looking forward to your next video.
Nice video & upgrade👍🏽
Nice Acty! 👌
Nice job
Thank you! Cheers!
We need a full show and tell on your mini!
For an add a leaf option look at trailer springs. As to front struts, you may be able to find them out of europe for less than getting them from Japan. I know you can buy the KYB shocks for the S80, and S100 series Hijets out of Great Britain on eBay, for about $75/strut, or about $100/shock with the shipping. Spendy, but still less than half the price of getting the stock units from japan. .
NICE VIDEO THANKS
Now is the time to do the front. Also look into poly bushings for the sway bar. Your truck will ride better with less bounce in the front and corner like it's on rails.
The poly bushings should be a day one. Such a different drive.
On my truck I replaced the stock bumpstop with sumo springs from Supersprings. There is a gap from the frame to the sumo spring so during regular driving they dont change the ride quality. But when I load the truck they pick up the extra weight quite nicely.
i guess im asking randomly but does anybody know a way to log back into an Instagram account??
I was stupid lost my password. I would love any help you can offer me!
@Zakai London instablaster :)
@Gatlin Arturo Thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now.
Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Gatlin Arturo it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thank you so much you really help me out!
@Zakai London Happy to help xD
Thank you for making these videos! I Learn so much watching . I have a 92 Honda acty and live in brooklyn! Curious in this video what size rim and tire size do You have mounted ? I’m trying to find options that fit. Thanks!
Thanks for the kind words. I’m running 15” steel why off a Honda Del Sol. This will not fit without spacers because the offset is very different. I’m using 1.5” spacers on all 4 corners. If you car is not lifted these will rub. Mine still rub a little at full tilt but it is because my tire have 60 series sidewalls, so I would recommend 50 series, but it all depends what you use your truck for. Enjoy the truck, and thanks again.
Brother! You’ve been helping me so much! I love your process! Thanks for sharing! I have a 94 acty too. Quick question . Did you ever find a replacement solution for the front shock top mounts? Mine are very worn . Btw im in brooklyn if you ever want to meet up.
Not yet. Someone is working on a kit using VW parts replacing the front struts. Hopefully there will be something soon that the community can use. Thanks for the support, it’s greatly appreciated
@@MarcoCerqueira I’m gonna experiment but I think the later year h8 and h9 could be close . Might just have to modify the the strut tower a hair. The setup looks very similar.
Very informative! Do these shocks work without a lift? Is there a minimum lift height?
These will work without a lift. As you cal tell in the video there are some tweaks you need to do to fit these. Good luck
Is your truck lifted? I have a 91 honda acty and the 2 inch lift wouldn't fit on the rear with the stock shocks. I'm looking for taller shocks and was wondering what the length on yours are?
Yes I have a 2” lift. Also running 1.5” spacers on all 4 corners
Any issues with the CV boot rubbing the shock boot? Looks very close in the video.
I think that’s just the camera angle. No closer to the CV boots than the stock setup. Thanks for watching
So this doesn’t change the height at all? I’m planning on removing a center leaf spring and lowering my acty but want better shocks.
Yes and no. Technically your springs are what lower your car, not the shocks. However, if you are lowering the truck you will need to use a shorter shock than what I used. The shock I used was taking into consideration that my truck has a lift.
What was the compressed length and extended length of the factory shocks? I have googled the hell out of that question and cannot get the answer. I even put in the stock part number looking for specs. Thank you in advance
Not sure…sorry this was done so long ago. I know the replacement strut matched
Hi Marco, what size tire and rims are you using on your truck? I just picked up an Acty. thank you.
I’m running 15” steel wheels from a Honda del sol. That will not clear without spacers ( I’m running 1.5” spacers). Tires are 185/60-15, but you really need 50 series tires to avoid rubbing. I also have a 2” lift
@@MarcoCerqueira Thank you for the info. I need to do something with mine. I'm going to use this info along with watching your videos to help me along.
Any idea where to get the front struts without paying an arm and a leg?
Not yet. Tried to retrofit civic struts but didn’t work. I did find a retrofit for heavy duty springs in the front for much less money.
@@MarcoCerqueira Hey Marco thanks, yes The spring I got it from your video, summit 275 and I ordered Thanks for that, But the struts, super expensive!
let us know if you come across a substitute.
Great videos and keep them coming.
@@tonyfajardo8466 I think Silvia coil over fit these... Check it out online. I'm trying to sort the camber on mine it's very bad after the heavy coils... Mine is a mitsubishi mini cab rwd.
I had a hard time getting the shock in. Any tips tricks?
Jack up the rear axle until you get the bolts to fit through the eyelet on the shock.
What are the specs on your rims and tires?
Wheels are 15” steel wheels from a Honda del sol. You will need spacers to fit these. I’m running 1.5” spacers on all 4 corners. As far as tires I’m running they will rub without a lift but they are 65 series tires
Marco we're did you source the BRIDE material? just went reupholstery shop around?
You can buy bride material on eBay, just do a quick search. Yes, I just went to a local shop. You will get a better price if you just remove the seats and drop them off, versus taking the whole car there. That was my experience.
@@MarcoCerqueira yep, of course. that's what I'm thinking plus make a seat pad thicker and firmer. can they change the foam inside?
@@MarcoCerqueira thx a lot!
I’m sure they can but they use the old material to make the new pattern, so if you go with thicker foam it can complicate things.
@@MarcoCerqueira tnx, mate!
Bilstein part #?
Link is in the description... thanks
Long term update on the shocks?
They’re great, never looked back.
@@MarcoCerqueira ever do anything with the fronts?
upgraded to 275 lb springs, but still using oem struts
@@MarcoCerqueira Link?
Here is the video with the installation. In the description there are links for the springs and the spring compressors. These springs are very tight to use large compressors...good luck

You have the wrong shock.
which one is right?
Why is that?
