I totally agree man. I am a yamaha tech from waaay back in 90. Never seen a pump fail. Seen people run em dry, seize the motor, fill the tank back up, then shrufg their shoulders like I dont know what happened. Very reliable systems. Great information by the way.
Such a big help thank you .Saved me the cost of sending my pump halfway around the world to get tuned .I tried doing myself first time with dial gauge not sure if I didn't bleed it properly or just had it running to hot but can see score marks on exhaust side of piston may have run it a little to lean on oil or something but again thanks for the help
Hi guys love the vibe here!!! Searched this specific topic to tune up my daughters race bike and your video was first recommended. We are also a family of racers here, well my daughter races but we all ride moto and my son can't even walk yet. We have all the equipment we need to get him out there with us when he is ready ✊😎 Hope you have a wonderful day
So on the adjustment nut... Turning it in clockwise, Lessens the oil injected? My daughters PW50 injects alot.. and i just want to turn it down a very tiny bit.....
I'd like to add that if you don't have a dial indicator setup like you have here you can measure the space created between the locknut and oil pump with feeler gauges.... And removing excessive slack out of the cable is a great idea 👊😁
@@cedricberu8220 I’m sure you’ve figured it out by now but it’s in inches .039” so if you have a 32 blade feeler gauge set then use the .019” (.483mm) and .020” (.508mm) together to get your gap of .039” (.9906mm)
Hi mate my son's have acquired a pw50 and I noticed that the oil pipeline goes to the overflow, instead of where it's ment to be on the side. But when I put it in correct place the engine wants to stall/die. I'll be putting new oil pipeline on today to replace old one (to short) and try and reset the carb. Any advice would be much appreciated 👍🇬🇧
Do you test flow rate on the pump? I found a write up about testing drips per minute I think when I first got the pw but can't find it now. Reason I ask, my pump was sticking half way on so I cleaned it, tightened the spring a little, and set it the way you show, but it seems like it's hardly pumping now

I ran pre-mix in my kid's pw50 racing flatt track. 20% nitro rc fuel in the injector pump tank. top end was crazy.

Hi mate is it mm or inch thanks for a great vid
How's the pw50 running now after the oil pump tuning where did you come up with that number to adjust to
So would say .40 be more oil and .30 less oil? Is there a spec that says why .35? Just want to make sure i dont run it to lean

What's the measurement with feeler gauge?
@@JP-ei8it mine was like .39
@@MotoFamMayhem 0.39 mm ou inch j suis français et pas moyen de trouver un gars qui sache câler une pompe à huile de un pw ...

What is The thread pitch ie: how many turns/degrees
Why do you bleed the oil?
Thank you
What about checking stroke on the pump?
Hi Guys, thank you for your video. What a great help! Is the 0.35 - inches or millimetres?
I am also wondering this. And why would you bleed the lines if you didn't open them they should have oil still in them correct?
See my comment below. It’s .035” (.889mm)
We need more videos like this 👍

When turning the pump down like this, you are still running normal fuel correct? Not pre mix?
