- I ran into the dreaded Pink Screen of death on my TV. This TV is a Panasonic Plasma TV I bought back in 2009. In this video, I explain how I fix the Pink Screen of Death issue.

Definitely worked for my mother's 32 inch Sylvania tv. I also switched from HDMI 1 to HDMI 2 port. So far so good 👍
Worked like a charm, I had a 75’ LG Nano connected to my Xbox series X and it was giving me the same problem for the last few months. Unplugging the HDMI cord from the console and putting it back in is what fixed it. Thank you very much!!

Do a Firmware update. I've seen that fix issues when hooking up a TV to a newer device.
Had to unplug the cable box and plugin back in to get mine to work. Unplugging and plugin back into the HDMI port did nothing. It's caused by your cable box (or device) overheating. Don't set other devices like a PS4 or other gaming system or anything on the cable box or near a heat source. If there is nothing on the cable box then the cooling fan could be out or building up with dust and not working well... especially if you clear it temporarily and then it does it again (like you mentioned).

I have this problem, too... and discovered that the REMOTE appears to cause the problem.
(i have an older Sony.)
As long as I use the TV REMOTE to turn the tv on and off, my screen is fine. When I use the Cox cable remote, the screen pinks out every time. Plugging the HDMI cable in and out solves the problem, but so does using the TV remote.

I have this problem every time I switch HDMI channels I have called the cable company and they said it’s all good on their end but what you did worked for me. Thank you.
Its often an issue of a cable port pin, crooked..
Comments helped. I had the same issue. Found it to be my son switching the HDMI cable between the PlayStation and cable TV box. I just reset the cable box
Also if your monitor is purple or something try pushing it in more it worked for me

I solved this problem by using the TV Remote - not the cable remote - to turn the tv on and off. Once the tv is on, I can use the TV remote with no problem.
On my Sony, it appears to be the CABLE REMOTE that causes this problem.
Unplugging/replugging the HDMI cable also works, but I doubt that fix is good for the cable or the cable box/tv.
Try using your TV remote for on/off.

disconnecting the power chord from the cable box waiting ten seconds then starting it back up worked perfectly for me everybody i recommend trying that first of all and make sure the hdmi cable is connected properly on both ends
I had a similar issue but it was the cable box signal causing pink screen. When you're playing Xbox or Playstation on different input do you get a pink screen?
I don’t have either of those but my Roku did the same thing. Funny thing now I don’t have the issue at all year later.

I have a dvd recorder issue. When dubbing from dvd to hdd it is pink. Ive changed the hdmi cable but no joy. Any suggestions

What I did is what it says online to do......unplug for 2 minutes......this lets the cable or tv completely reset........this is what worked for me!
For me, all I have to do is use the TV remote - not the cable remote $ to turn the tv on and off. I NEVER get a pink screen Unless I use the cable company report for on/off.

So had my pc plugged in over night to tv through HDMI. No cable,box, tv is pink even with hdmi unplugged. Cannot find solution anywhere
I can get it to go away if I change the source with the remote then go back to HDMI1.
i also have a pink screen. no ide why. and am trying to stream tv from usb-tv-tuner on a raspberry pi 4. and when i try to change stuff cos i can't get the frequency right then this is what i ended up with. looks like i need to unplug the tv-card when the pi is on NOT when it's off. i will try that thanx

Probably similar issue. I believe it’s the HDMI board issue on the TV.
Probley know by know but hdmi cords do go out or may have a cheap HDMI pay the cash its worth it
You’re right they do go out. That wasn’t my issue though.
Worked in 2022 with a new Chromecast / Vizio 40something inch . I'm also thinking it has something to do with particular hdmi ports and possibly display sleep timers after I noticed my timer got turned down to like 2min and it was happening more often. I'm trying it with no sleep but in the same HDMI port for now. Will report back unless I forget 🙃

According to www.avsforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1515325 it is an HDMI handshake problem and turning HDMI CEC off fixes it for good.

This worked for me thank's, I got a new xbox thinking the old one was broken, then i changed the hdmi cables, then I screamed at it lol so glad I found this, just need to let my hair grow back in now.

I just turned the TV OFF and then back ON with the remote- Fixed it!!!
My tv screen goes pink and green and the tv screeches, the power button won’t work when it does this, so I have to pull the cord… can’t figure out how to fix it. It seems to take certain HDMI cords better than others but the tv scream is inevitable for me… I’m worlds confused and can’t find a post of any TV doing anything similar anywhere.
Took back off and removed and blow and put back in all wires fixed the problem for me think it was a build up ov dust
My TV did the same thing. It was the power cord on the cable box.

That seems odd but I guess it’s possible it was a bent cable that when changing power cable it was knocked into place.
I have an insigma TV and my issue is the screen is green and pink. And it also the box won't stop resetting its self and its so annoying.

I bought a new 60 inch lg smart TV.. it goes pink and green. I shall call insurance and they can sort it out.. that's for your tips

My Roku is stuck in recovery mode and it's a purple screen how do I get out of it? I don't even have a dollar to my name to ask a professional. My internet went out last night and I reset it after it came on I reseted it I reset my TV and fixed it like that before but now it don't want to and I have to keep putting everything in and updating it and it still goes back to the purple screen it's frustrating
This did not work. I even changed the hdmi cable, but I think my tv problem is different because my screen turns pink randomly and it temporarily fixes it for like a minute or two when i change the hdmi. And sometimes when I turn on the tv the screen doesn't turn on at all, or sometimes it does but then it goes black again. I really hope I can find out how to fix it cause I just wanna watch Family guy while I eat my breakfast😢

Shit myself.....just booted Far Cry 5 on my PS4 Pro and all white went pink. Turned PS4 off and back on....fine.
Thought I'd been playing too much Rage 2 and burnt pink into the display lol.
Happened when I connected the sony to my tv for the first time too..

Just bought a 4 k Samsung smart TV. After about 20 days of usage my screen turned pink. It is not the TV or the HDMI that is causing the issue. It is the receiver from Direct TV not being compatible with the new technology of the 4K. You will likely need to contact Direct TV and arrange for a new receiver box that is compatible with the 4K. When watching Netflix or Amazon Prime I didn't have an issue with the pink screen, only when I switched back to the direct TV programing. The direct Tv box/receivers are not designed to work well with the new 4k so an upgrade will be necessary.
Turning the tv off and on or unplugging the HDMI is a temporary fix. The pink screen comes back, so the fix is a new box.

Well for me it did not work straight away. Am using Fire stick with HDMI on Vizio 65" - 2017 model. What I tried alternatively was, unplugged the Fire Stick, removed the power supply to it, waited for 30 seconds and then set it back in the order of power supply -> HDMI link to TV. It worked. 😁😁

Yeah my brand new Samsung does this every so often. I unplug the HDMI AT&T BOX and picture goes back to normal..
Nothing works for my Samsung smart TV, tried different steaming box, different HDMI cable, different HDMI port, reset the TV, all to no avail -- nothing fixes it. It only impacts shades of grey, which become shades of lavender/purple. Whites, blacks, other colors and skin tone is still perfect.

My TV is doing this with my Chromecast whenever I turn the tv off and on again. I have found that if I change the source input, (eg from HDMI to AV, then back to HDMI) from my remote, this fixes it with no need to go scrabbling round the back of the tv!

on a pink screen just go to input on the remote and switch to a diferent input hit enter it will say no signal. input back to your hdmi setting and it will be fixed
