  • The Samsung LC49G95TSSEXXY is awesome but if you use the wrong cable you get this issue with colors and resolution not being correct. In particular your screen will be mostly green and pink/red. Here is how I fixed mine, I hope it saves you time!!
    - Fix #1 (in my video) .. use DisplayPort instead ( I used Alogic usb-c to displayport cable )
    - Fix #2 (thanks Floren) .. control panel .. system .. input port ver .. 1.4 instead of 2.0

The hdmi work around is to change the hdmi version setting from 2.0 to 1.4. the downside to this is that the resolution is 1080p.

No probs. I've been getting SO frustrated with the lack of usb-c support from this monitor. I've bought 4 usb switches and cables, I still can't get a one-plug usb-c solution to my macs or pixelbooks that drives the monitor at 5120/1440. My wife's Dell ultrawide U4919DW is SO much better for connectivity, just plug everything into the monitor and one usb-c into any laptop and you're good to go.

Hey, I understand there have been 3 years since your video, but I just stumbled upon it when searching for solution of the same problem with my LG 27GR95QE-B.
Switching to display port wasn't an option for me since it is occupied by my gaming PC already.
So I've poked with monitor settings and switched HDMI Input Compatibility Version from 2.1(PC) to 2.1(VA) and it has fixed the problem!
Maybe it will be useful for someone else.

Thanks for posting this, I have a G9 on order. I’ll be connecting a PC and a Surface Book 2.
My understanding of USB-C’s implementation of video is that it emulates DisplayPort 1.4. So the HDMI port would require some form of signal conversion whereas the DisplayPort doesn’t. That’s about as technical as I care to delve.
So I’ll order a USB-C to DisplayPort cable now, thanks!

i just got one of these monitors last week on black friday from amazon for $1200 and I have one tiny black spot on the screen - its not a symmetrical shape so i think it's a scratch vs dead pixel. Also on the right side of the monitor i have spots where i see some whitish light that bleeds onto the screen when its displaying an all black image (no image but monitor is on)... Is this called light bleed? Do you have any of these issues with your G9 or any other issues? Is the light bleed something that cant be helped since this is VA panel? I feel like i should return mine, but dont know what else to get & it seems like samsung has had nothing but issues with this monitor & the'yre still not fixed. I'm designer & gamer, so I need both high color accuracy & a fast refresh rate. Dell ultrawide 49" can only output 60hz so Im not sure what to do ?
