- The seats are in at last! It took some time and a little hot glue but worked a treat. (Thanks Dad as always!)
p.s don't worry they were 'safety flip flops' before I get sent any complaints! ;-)

A great video, nice and thorough and covers all the important bits around secure fitting as far as I understood too. Hot glue is a great tip!
Great Video i am a total novice the information was very informative and as a parent wanted to ensure a proper installation was carried out and found the information and advice very helpful I never even thought about having to notify DVLA or my insurance company or even being able to get it checked at my local garage to meet regulations all very good safe and practical advise thank you so much.
Love that your dad the engineer has steel toe caps on and you have your Flip flops on! 😆
Hi, We have been watching you fitting out your family vsn, great job with the seats, your girls will travel in total safety, We'll be watching, thanks for sharing.Blessings! !!!!!!
Thanks Fred, glad you liked it.
Proper job ,I just purchased a 2012 nv200 ,I’m a builder and part time dad so I’m gonna try and copy your video,my only concern is my van has a plywood floor, love a challenge me,good work lads 👍
Hi Ben!. Did you install the rear seat in your nv200?, Do you have a video?. Thank you in advance.
Hot glue worked pretty good on mine. I put a wide double seat from a 2018 Ford Transit in my 2000 Ford E250. I had crossmembers in the way so I couldnt span the whole bracket with one plate. I had to break the plate underneath up into 3 plate pieces using 4 bolts on each seat bracket (1, 2, 1 if that makes sense) from the 2018 Transit. They are really solid, thanks for the hot glue tip.
That single seat, if you fold it down you can use it as a mini-table. That was one of the features of a Renault Espace (2003) which we used quite a bit when travelling as it had cup holders built in.
Just a thought which could be useful. Any love your videos, Keep them up!!
Yes they do work well as tables and end up very flat, almost creates a bed. However where possible we will probably leave the third seat at home as it does take up quite a bit of space, plus there will be a fold up table in front anyway.
Good video mate... I'm just about to fit seats in the back of our VW T4 and have been really worried about doing it safely... basically had the same idea as you ..overkill with the supporting members.
It's so hard finding information on HOW to do it properly.
Im going to speak with a local coach build place to get some facts... but I think you've done a good safe job.
Cheers
Good effort you could tell you were knackered at the end!
Great set of videos! We are about to start our conversion and they are a huge help.
Can’t beat help from Dads lol 😆
Neat job again 👍
Good call on the type of seats. I've got a bench seat in the back of mine and it's neither comfortable nor space saving. Did make me laugh seeing flip flops and a boiler suit... : )
Thanks. Surprised I haven't had more Safety Sallys moaning about the flip flops! :-)
Was especially funny considering your dad had his steel-toed workman’s boots on!
love the safety footware. hahahah looking good though nice and secure...........good job dad :)
Perfect video, I was starting to get nervous about fitting mine before I watched this. 👍🏻
Hi, such a great video, thanks! I’ve been using it as a guideline for my conversion. But... with you mentioning you’ve altered your insurance who did you find and end up using that accepted the modification? I’ve purchased the same seats and just got of the phone to my insurance who’ve said that it’s rare any insurance would accept the modification even if it passed an MOT Inspection as it’s such a high risk. Thanks again and take care
U got link for the seats please
Great Job can't wait to see the final result
Looking for the seperate video on choosing the seats :-(
They look great!
Hi, would you be kind enough to provide the measurement of the double seat please? Would be great if it was from say cabin floor drop and the van side? I need to work out how much space it uses. Thank you in advance.
Brilliant stuff! Looking forward to hearing more about seat choice
You probably dont care but does anyone know of a tool to get back into an instagram account..?
I stupidly forgot the account password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me.
@Khalid Graysen Instablaster =)
@Paxton Moises thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now.
Takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
@Paxton Moises it worked and I finally got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thank you so much you saved my ass :D
@Khalid Graysen glad I could help xD
Great job, well done.
Hi I’m looking at fitting these seats into my swb boxer and I got a comment from a guy saying they where abit low in his opinion, interested to know what your thoughts with regards to height when mounted straight onto the floor like yours, any comments appreciated cheers
Hi there. I know this video is a couple of years old, but it is really helpful and informative.
I wanted to know the height of the Ford seats as I am going to use the exact same seats in my Citroen relay but I wanted to put a table between the driver seat (on swivel) and rear seats and have that as dining area.
The only issue I can see is because the main driver and passenger seats are much higher, is this even possible in your opinion? Ive really been scratching my head with this one but I cant see a safe way of even raising the rear seats. Thanks Zach
How many bolts on each rail and what size bolts please?
I love your work and thinking, just a (possibly ill informed) question regarding the nylon nuts. Are they not a weak point? Would it not be better to use two ordinary nuts per bolt locking each other?
Douger Rohmer
Nylon lock nuts are pretty reliable. They can always add another if they have any problems, but I've never seen a nylon lock nut come loose.
Ah! I've just googled it, and it seems I have always erroneously assumed that the nylon is actually the threaded part, therefor you cannot torque it as much as a conventional one. Not so! Thanks for the info!
Lovely work
Nice job! 👍clever use of the glue gun too! I want to do the same thing to my transit custom. But also want to be able to turn the seats around. Do you know if the seats clip into the brackets facing rear wards as well? Cheers
Do you know if you can make you own frame to make the seats higher and still get it passed thank you
I've just getting the 2018 model tourneo custom seats in
We’ve got a LWB Peugeot Boxer, which we’ve just started converting. Your videos have been our bible! They really are helping us navigate what is quite a daunting task for amateurs. Quick question on the seats...have you had them signed off yet? I’m a bit confused as who needs to sign them off. There differing advice online - only at MOT, local mechanic now or MOT centre now?
Our insurer didn't even ask when I called to change the number of seats. I took it for it's MOT a few weeks later and asked the mechanic to check over all the work, however this was more just for my own peace of mind. I am sure all insurers will be different though as I had expected to be asked for a report of some sort.
Thanks for the speedy reply. I’ll give our insurance company a call and go from there.
Very detailed video 👍
Hello, any chance you could take some measurements of a single rear seat: how high from the floor level is the front edge of the seat? distance between the mounting rail centres? Thanks!
Looks great, nice work. Did the steel underneath go in parallel with the rails or did you run it from right to left? Was a bit hard to see as its dark. Thanks.
Right to left.
@@TheRestorationCouple amazing, thanks very much. I am looking at the same seats in a mk7 transit.
Hot glue gun 👍nice idear . Better to over kill than under kill
i love it when i have good idears ay dea
mayI know if your front double passenger seats can turn around as well? the original factory double front passenger seats can't turn around..
oh man i love these videos ..i so want to do this
Thanks! :-)
Did you only use 2 bolts per track? I've just bought similar and its come with 4 bolts per track?
I have the same question.
Where did you buy the rails for holding the seat to the floor and where did u buy the seat
What seat is this from?
Can you tell me about regulations and registry issues regarding this? Should it be similar in the netherlands?
Great video. The tracks look like they're raised to accommodate a sub-floor. How deep are they?
Of the top of my head around 35mm, usually the top flange sits proud and sits on top of flooring. We wanted them recessed so we could fit a blank into them to give a flat load space.
Could the seats be fitted sideways instead of the conventional way you have?
Did consider getting extra tracks to postion sideways when parked but they would not be safe to travel that way
Hi Tim,
Have been following your videos closely as i plan to start my own van later in the year. I am very interested in these seat you have used but cant find the dimensions anywhere online. Can you tell me the width of the double seat please.
Great build, am looking forward to future videos.
100cm give or take +/- 2cm, I woudl ned to measure to confirm.
Many thanks for your reply. Ian
Did you use m12 bolts?
Helpful video thanks. Can you tell me the width of the double seat? I’ve not been able to find that info anywhere
Hi Ian &/or restoration couple, did you ever find out the dimensions of the tourneo custom seats??
Great job. I've been planning to get the same seats fitted in mine. Is there much of a different in level between the cab seats and these seats? I'm hoping to raise mine up and build a floor level with the cab.
There is quite a step between cab and back in these vans so even with floor insulated and raised they are slightly off set. If we were just using the pair then I would have built a raised section like you say, however it wouldn't have worked with the third so close to sliding door.
Yes, I've been considering that problem. I've got the same van and I'm hoping that there will be just enough room to build in a step.
Great video. I would love to know the brand of these seats
Ford transit custom tourneo
Hi
How do you take the seats off the rails. Just bought a pair and cant get them back off!
Seconded! How did you manage?
Pull lever up once you have tipped seats.
What seats are those?
Where did you source the rear seats from? Looks great
Ebay, I shall be doing a video on them soon as really pleased with them. Ford Custom Tourneo rear seats is what you want to search.
The Restoration Couple much appreciated
@@TheRestorationCouple About that video, did you ever do it as I can't find it. Good work on this one though.
Hi, can you please tell me where you bought and what seats are?
Ford tourneo custom. eBay.
Thinking of adding the same to a t5 as the seats look great tge way they can fold forward. I could do it myself but heard that some insurers want a certificate to prove fitment. Have you had that or been asked that? Cheers
Very informative vid, thank you for sharing ✔️... I'd be interested in finding this out too 😊
Can they lye flat?
were did you buy the seats from?can you give asa alink, pls?thank you
They are ford transit tourneo seats.
The girls could play “Find the Lost Tool Game”!!
Used those seats in mine
Steve Brown what seats are they? Can you please tell me as im looking around for some folding seats to fit in a vauxhall vivaro
Jp1875 they are out of a Ford Transit Custom Turneo..
I'm trying to find these seats for my van conversion. Can you help point me to where I can buy them?
Why do you need six seats? :)
Good to keep future proof! :-) Besides we are probably going to swap the front double seat for a single anyway. I think we will leave the single rear seat out when not needed so may well end up being 4 seats but it's nice to be able to have it if needed.
