I respect how easily you handle the "maximum speed" pressure the tower is giving you. Having landed at John Tune now, I see how hectic it can get. You even buttered the landing and impressed your passengers, can't do any better than that!

thanks man yeah the Archer POH says to descend at 120 something knots at 2500 RPM so you are kinda sending it anyway if you follow that in this plane 🤣 I appreciate it yeah they were a positive vibe!

The reaction of your passengers was great … I enjoyed this as a fellow Nashville pilot who always departs from MQY or M54 and who usually heads north, east or south - but only because I’m a new pilot trying to avoid getting too near BNA. Doing a downtown tour is on my list of things to do sooner or later so this was especially fun to watch. I took some notes, thanks!

Definitely do it when you get a chance! The BNA controllers are great and they make it super easy. I usually head north to get settled and then ask BNA approach for a downtown tour and just take it from there - basically did that in this video. You will have no issues have fun! I usually would go straight north but went west here a little first to make sure these passengers were going to be ok before committing to the downtown tour.

Re: No TSA checks, one of the things I like doing is using foreflight's "trip assistant" on the web app, to see how far I could go and still beat the airlines. It's surprisingly far. Mostly because of all the BS that surrounds waiting with airline flights. My brother lives in Bolingbrook, IL and I can't quite beat the airlines there, but if I had a Cherokee 180, pretty sure I'd beat the airlines to his house: 30m from my house to CLT + 2 hours early arrival + 1 hour from ORD to Bolingbrook. Adds up.
I'm not a fan of "maintain maximum forward speed" on final. It puts me on edge, like I'm not only hurrying and putting myself in a position to accidentally skip something, but I'm also annoying the airplane behind me and putting them in a similar position. You handled it well.
I need passengers that gush when I grease it! Of course, I need to grease it more often, too. I know you're a real stickler for the perfect landing. Nice when that effort gets acknowledged.

Yeah you know me, I hate to rush. If I am not feeling it, I will just ask to leave the area and come back or whatever is needed to slow things down. And yes find you some passengers like these two! It's almost like I hired them to say all that 🤣

Finally a low wing. Who are you renting the Archer from?

Yeah I basically rent anything I can that will allow me to travel. Digging the low wing for the most part. One door/getting in and out etc. is kind of annoying. Love the flight characteristics though. It's a small rental group share kind of thing.

1:46 loving the runup montage :)
6:55 "what are we flying over right now" #dadjoke
9:00 can fly with commercial jets, but can't get on one, and the airports have "sterile ramps" for TSA just like they do inside the airport. Which is kind of trippy. BNA's FBO vs terminals are in different sections, but PDX has a barrier between them: goo.gl/maps/6aRrRne4MiqqScyA9 .. it's marked XXX on the taxi diagram, which means "closed surface".
15:30 "5 mile final", maximum speed (like Josh said), for a CRJ! In that situation I have trouble slowing down enough on short final.
16:40 I've never heard "in the event of a goaround", though it sounds like the person who got in trouble when I went in and wasn't sidestepping, got a number to copy.
    "that was a smooth-ass landing". 💯💯💯 (just pretend you're not surprised :) )
