    Anyone ever notice how every boxer except for Floyd Mayweather when training on the heavy bag or mits, they always throw a two, three or four punch combination and then stop punching, hop around a bit and reset to prepare for the next few punch combo? Floyd doesn't do that. He simply never stops punching. I think with gaps between combinations, fighters are training themselves to have moments of unreadiness and Floyd, with his level of experience, is able to pick up on those moments and therefore knows most of the time when to strike the opponent. Floyd trains to not have those gaps. That might explain why he lands such a high percentage of his punches. This is just a theory of mine, I could be wrong.

    I did this tippy tap workout for 30 minutes non-stop. I've cycled it 5 days in a row. Is it me or do I actually feel that my technique becomes sharper?
    What I do is everytime I tap the bag, I FEEL the sweet spot to try to make a connection, and gently snap my shot into the bag when I tap it.
    I feel like my technique don't fade as much when I'm tired, and I feel like I am more accurate in my shots to hit that sweet spot.
    Anyone tried it? Anyone have similar experiences? Or is it placebo???

      Try it yourself and see.
      For me, this is now my go-to workout. But you lose power, so you have to supplement other workouts to keep your power.
      You gain accuracy, you get that pop everytime. Hit it with full power and be surprised how loud the shotgun sound can be, because you hit the sweet spot real nice. Your technique gets sharp and your arms get tired less quicker. Your technique fades less when you are tired.
      Do it and see, and let me know if your experience is the same as mine...

    • @DaigoParry
      @DaigoParry 8 років тому +36

      +Dennis Rodman
      One more thing: these type of punches are non-committal punches, but because your technique is sharper, you compensate your loss of power with snap (another form of power).
      The problem with throwing the Mike Tyson type of hooks is that you leave yourself very open when you miss. Mike Tyson turns his body when he throws hooks. Floyd doesn't. When you train Floyd's style, your punches "sting", rather than "wrecking ball". But you recover your punches quicker and is better DEFENSIVELY. You don't leave yourself as open.

  • @BigMike_RTTV
    @BigMike_RTTV 7 років тому +20

    People that say this man can't punch need to stfu... I used to box and can say from experience that when you get hit with punches that "sharp"... It hurts. There's a reason why no fighter ever walked through Floyd's punches to get to him. He may not have devastating power like a Tyson or Foreman... But you'll feel it if he hits you. He hits you hard enough to put you in your place lol

    • @thegreatestever913
      @thegreatestever913 Рік тому +2

      Not only that people like Tyson swung with everything they had and were brawlers fighting for the sole purpose in knocking u out, the way we see Floyd punching on this bag he doesn't punch in his fights, he's a calculated defensive counter puncher not looking for a knockout...wen we was pretty boy Floyd we seen him coming for knockouts and was getting the job done

  • @pottyputter05
    @pottyputter05 2 роки тому +3

    His left hook to the body is so crisp and so snapy. To those that don't get the seemingly light touches 1 it's a massive bag but 2 when you're not familiar with boxing in all aspects it can seem odd but in fights and on the bag you don't throw power all day, scoring and probing matter plus you won't know where my power will explode. Obviously to conserve energy but also if you've never taken light hits from a glove before it's not something you can really put together but they will hurt and especially being stung over and over and not even on a pressure fighter level to do it.

    I keep coming back to his videos and always pick up on something new. Floyd just has it figured out. The more you know about boxing, the more you respect this man.

      I agree 100%. I used to hate Floyd but once I started boxing myself, I quickly changed my view. The man is an artist and his craft is beautiful to watch.

    I have never in my life, seen people stand around a boxer watching mesmerized while he hits a heavy bag then clap on cue like it was the end of a Broadway show when he stops. He looks good, I think he will be working on body shots and setting his feet to land power early and discourage attacks from Maidana.

    A lot of dudes on here are fools. Talking about that it seems like he's punching harder now. For the most part, he always punched like that. Floyd is going to unload any punch that presents itself. Oh oh he's gonna "hit him with a body shot"? He always throws body shots in his fights.

      He chooses not to use it so he won't risk getting Countered, landing a punch and earning points by making the glove touch opponents face or body, power doesnt have to do anything in Boxing blue print unless you're looking for a K.O

    • @greeceboy15

      ThaPioneer besides he Sayed his hands broke after the Gatti fight. Thats the Reason he fight defensive and try to win on points.

    • @DBIIJ0U
      @DBIIJ0U 6 років тому

      His hands broke down after Gatti, he fights defensively but if he didn't have power his opponents would walk through him.

  • @zinowor
    @zinowor 7 років тому +4

    If Floyd had unbreakable hands, he would've had upwards of an 80% knockout rate from his wins. And imo he would have been the best boxer to have ever stood in the ring.

    Now let's go watch tyson and pac on the bags..and the pads..

    • @ImranAli-tm3rq
      @ImranAli-tm3rq 10 років тому

      ***** a prime tyson was superior to floyd mayweather in every way..apart from maybe pretty boy looks and defense..mike had better skills, technical ability, offense, power, better shadow boxing, pad work, bigger celebrity, more charisma..physique..you name it..

    • @jcherestal
      @jcherestal 10 років тому +2

      Imran hud really who cares if one has better shadow boxing or pad work its what you do IN THE RING. and mayweather status has surpassed tyson's if you go on how much the make per fight. tyson peaked around 40 mil per fight and may is getting more than that now.
