@@kingsamvisuals Spend the extra $$ for the A7iv. The 33MP sensor is amazing. Plus the build quality is much better. I played around with the A7C and it felt very cheap. Plus I didn’t like the form factor.

new intro - cool! That HD 240p sideways noise, looks it's related to how the sensor is read maybe? Vlogin' with medium format, wow, that's something you need to do more often on this channel :D
Oh Fooj, how I wish you'd waiting 'til you had firmware that was ready for the public before shipping units to reviewers. Like the Nikon Z7 etc - it doesn't matter how much you improve the AF in later versions, 80% of the public will form and solidify their opinions based on those first look videos - and sadly right now, the AF is not good enough. Even Fuji Fanboy creators are sort of umming and ahhing, and avoiding directly saying ' yes this is fit to fight the competition'
Am i the only one who is a little sus about 50sII shooting 4k? I thought it is 1080p only. Do you mean upscaled 1080p? (in which case it looks amazing)
I'm 99% sure it was the 100s. The Fuji rep told me it was the 50s ii, but it's definitely 4k. The cameras look identical so he probably didn't realize it was the 100s.
This is pretty disappointing considering that Fuji is marketing the XH2S as their "video centric" camera. The auto focus is definitely much improved over the XT-4 but the IBIS was absolutely horrendous. Not to mention the crops for 120-240p vs the XT-4. I will say, when I use 240p on my XT-4 the more light that is available the better the image quality but still... The 240p on the XH2S was potato like quality 🤦🏻
@@nigerian-nightmare I like to grab some nice cinematic b roll of wildlife when I shoot outdoors. Or when I'm grabbing outdoor sports content like snowboarding.
I still dont see a need for 240 fps 🤷♂️ but that's just me. Seems like Fuji really needs to have that finalized firmware released. Right now I am just using what I have now and it gets the job done for my needs. I'm not a popular youtuber, so I don't mind being behind the camera. If Fuji gets this camera right, it will be kickass with high fps, 4k120, 6k and pro res. Just waiting to see the finalized firm.
I expect the final firmware will clean up the awful jitters in the IBIS and a few other things, but as a video-centric camera, I’m not sold. Fujifilm have introduced a “catch up” camera which, in many respects, still leaves them a year behind the competition. I like Fuji for stills, and I will probably hang onto my X-T4 for the limited stills work I need to tackle these days. But for a compact cinema rig for gimbal/drone work, I’m probably better off with Sony which (for instance) has complete integration with the new DJI Transmission system. Fuji has been a walled garden for too long, and the X-H2 is not enough of an upgrade to keep me tuned into the brand.
I might be the only person that actually wants the fan. I film in a non-airconditioned woodshop, making projects. Is the XHSs cost worth having to no longer wait on the xt4 to cool down between shots? 100% Video.
15:18 The auto white balance is on suicide watch after the light behind you kept changing. You're everything from greenish to yellowish to cooked ham pink.
I can just imagine the Vistek guys that invited you to this rewatching this video like "My god... Why did we invite this hobo UA-camr to film out of focus pigeons through a window at 1080p". Also, that medium format vlog actually looked better than both the XT4 and XH2s.
Damn, I wish you were not all about video. I am a lowly Fuji stills shooter and all that mumbo jumbo is meaningless. But I keep coming back cuz these vids are just so damn entertaining. No fanboy stuff here. I might consider upgrading to the XH2 for wildlife but it really sounds like this might not really be the game changing camera we were hoping for. Gonna have to wait for many more reviews. Keep up the great work.
It's always the same: Fuji launches a new model with a variety of flaws. Yes, some of the errors will then be fixed by means of firmware updates. But do we photographers always want to be the guinea pig? Since I had these negative experiences with the X-T4 in the spring of 2020, Fuji is no longer in the race when it comes to buying a new camera.
The stabe on indoors looks almost worse or very similar than oly 100-400 and 300 f4 when you tested in the other store previously. I think you could test the olympus lenses outdoor to be fair. The 100-400 fuji looks pretty good in your wildlife stuff, but inside the store it looks like you had a child pulling from your sleeve or moving your arm. 150-600 looks good, but it's also not the most stable image in artificial light
This is a video comparison I’ve been waiting for… I want to buy my wife a new camera for an upcoming amazing holiday as an upgrade from her very dated Nikon D5 - the XH2s has been an option since I knew of the rumours but I was erring on the side of the XT4 until you put the 50s2 back in. I’d (almost) discounted the 50, but I’m of the mind that it is far and away the best option. Thank you.
isn't it pointless testing the non finished firmware? I really apreciate the effort, this is THE video comparison I need right now. but yeah, if the new firmware is so much better then we need to see that :-)
That's why I said I'm shocked Fuji allowed this into the hands of youtubers to review in its current state. Based on this firmware I would never buy it. Hopefully I can get my hands on a finished copy some day.
Man, I was amazed by your presentation. Thanks for your effort. It was a very nice presentation and I watched it laughing, sometimes. I understand this: there is no huge difference between xt-4 and xh2s, it is more professional in focusing, but there are still scenes where it misses the focus, in the current camera. Greetings from Türkiye my friend :).
I see many reviewer putting up footage and claiming it’s in focus. But when I look at the footage it’s clear to see that the Fooge has missed focus. This camera does not come close to the refined focusing of either Canon or Sony. I’m also struggling to see the amazing dynamic range so many are speaking of. At 14 plus stops, that would put it on par with the current Alexa Classic… I don’t think so.
It has 14.5 stops of dynamic range. You have to use Flog2 with noise reduction zero. Watch Gerald Undone's detailed review on that with sample videos. This one video does not prove anything.
Where those stops fall is more important than merely having the stops. If all in the noise floor they are pretty useless. Gerald Undone is not a filmmaker. He just test specs and shoots charts.
@@angryrabbitproductions1690 You sound like you have personal issues with Gerald. Also, your statement about where the dynamic range falls doesn't add up. Watch his detailed review of XH2s dynamic range before accusing him of not being a filmmaker. The guy knows his stuff.
Bought Sony FX3 for video. I have used XT2, XH1, XT3, XT4 before. Guys... I really love Fuji size, aestetics, colors. BUT! Sony's autofocus, dynamic range, easy to use - is what makes me happy. I can just trust AF. This makes it dramatically easier to shoot! Run and gun:) Dynamic range also better. Colors of modern Sony is ok. Slog3, 10 bit - ok. Size - comparable with Fuji. I love FX3. And I love brutal design of FX3 with that red lighs. Autofocus of XH2S still sucks, as you can see from this video. Sorry Fuji. My money goes to Sony. In studio - Blackmagic. When I don't need AF, I will use Blackmagic, not Fuji. RAW recording on SSD, power from a socket with native adapter, great colors (just the BEST colors) etc. Use BMPCC4K with 0.71 Metabones and Sigma 18-35 f1.8 lens. FX3 with Sony 20mm F1.8.
Hmmm -- watching your AF side-by-side, the XH2s was faster than the XT4, but watch the white light in the upper background -- that pulsing would make Panasonic proud!!!!
Wow! There's only one UA-camr who cares and dares to do such a comperehensive test at an event like that! Thank you! The medium format vlog was what I never expected to witness! I think something should be wrong with that 150-600 lens'es optical design. Sigma is same weight and same range but brighter at 600 while is fullframe! The new intro was cool! Though I'm gonna miss the UFO!
11:15 - 120p - It looks like you taking slow steps pretend it is slow down. Good thing you have a chain. :) 240p - I'm 95% sure horizontal blur is some type noise reduction bug. It should be fixable.
It kinda shows that the XH2s needs a faster cpu to do the math on those pixels to get sharper fhd at 240 fps. Otherwise, I think it definitely is the better camera.
As usual awesome preview! But 1 question... what shutter did you shoot at? I wondering if the high shutter speed could cause the jitter effect and therefor making the IBIS look worst then it really was?
If that was a Panasonic camera performing like that autofocus-wise, there would have been such an over-reaction. But here, it's within the Fuji magic normal operation? Be consistent my man
Please keep us posted on Fuj XH2s updates - I am looking for a vid cam to do wildlife (inc intracoastal marine) & lacrosse games - This camera may be the perfect camera for that if the firmware is fixed right.
Great hands-on. Looks like you were making the most of a time-pressured session. I think the focus was slightly off on the 240p footage, as you can see shelves in focus at points. Would be great if you have a day to get all the settings matched up for a fair comparison with better lighting! I reckon the AF gets confused by high-contrast shapes in shot, or lack of colour contrast. It definitely saw a face in the top balloon on the left, you can see the eyes if you squint! So maybe it needs a bit of tuning to recognise skin tones as well as facial features. The stabilisation was surprisingly good on on the GFX 50S ii...
@@cameraconspiracies Ahhh does continuous focus work at 240p?! I just assumed it had locked onto the wrong thing at the start of the clip. Wasn't a dig at you by the way!
I have had the XH2s in my shopping cart more times than I can count over the last week. One question, and one request, and a bit of conjecture.. (Q) Do you mean the Xh2s didn't allow for 700Mb/s 240fps in it's current state? (R) Any chance you can get your hands on the 200 F2 (with the tc that comes with the lens) and test the 240p on your X-t4? (C) Although it seems clear the artifacts on the X-t4 are do to low bit rates, usually more light, lower iso, and a bit of overexposure helps with this issue, which the Z6 can suffer from in 120p, albeit not as seriously as what I see from the Xt4. It would be a very useful test IMHO, and help me personally decide if the XH2s is needed for decent 240p, or if it can be obtained with the Xt4. I am not opposed to a bit of blown out highlights, but artifacts ruin it for me personally. (More C)The noise you mentioned on the XH2s seemed like an attempt to spread the noise evenly, which if it was just 70Mb/s it would sorta make sense that it would be soft and kinda stretched out to avoid concentrations of artifacts..
.... IBIS is as freaky like in my X-T4 :/ AF too isnt good... I think that fuji dont think serious about film makers. How about button for switching AF-C/MF? just switching, or show dialog, and need to choose?
I want so badly to love this camera, but they need to get the firmware fixed. Promising reports on that front, but we need you to stress test everything! What are you recording on for the talking head segment? Looks really good.
If the fuji only improved the AF 100%, it would go head-to-head with sony. She improved points on the camera that were already excellent, but what everyone claims was the AF apparently is still the same

I sold my pocket 4k this weekend and ordered a7iv. In the mean time i’m using an xt3 and it honestly looks pretty bad compared to the pocket 4k. I’m kind of scared now that the a7iv will be a disappointment in the image quality area.

Sold my T4 last week and bought an A7iv with Sigma 28-70/2.8. I almost cried when I saw my in focus vlog footage. If you’ve been using Fuji for awhile, you will be blown away by its capabilities.
@@RandumbTech sold the xt3. Almost certain I'm buying an a7c
@@kingsamvisuals Spend the extra $$ for the A7iv. The 33MP sensor is amazing. Plus the build quality is much better. I played around with the A7C and it felt very cheap. Plus I didn’t like the form factor.
@@RandumbTech yeah no. I'm not spending that much. A camera is a tool and I'm pretty sure the a7c can do what I need.
@@RandumbTech i'm in the middle of contemplating this same move from X-H1 to A7IV with Sigma 24-70 f2.8. I'm not able to justify the X-H2S w 16-55 f2.8 for about the same price/weight combo as the A7IV. I really liked Fujifilm but their departure from dials on X-H series and abandoning their Kaizen approach and glitchy AF is making it difficult to stick

i bet this is the best lut / grade or lighting i ve ever seen on your videos.
new intro - cool!
The new intro was good 😁😁😁😁😂😂
Am i the only one who is a little sus about 50sII shooting 4k?
What are you guys shooting to need 240p
Casey taking UA-cam vlogging to the next level with Medium Format 🤣
100% Video.

The auto white balance is on suicide watch after the light behind you kept changing. You're everything from greenish to yellowish to cooked ham pink.
Can I pre-order the Fuji pen? ;)
I can just imagine the Vistek guys that invited you to this rewatching this video like "My god... Why did we invite this hobo UA-camr to film out of focus pigeons through a window at 1080p".
Also, that medium format vlog actually looked better than both the XT4 and XH2s.
We need medium format vlogs on GFX now!!

Very professional new intro animation
Woww that GFX footage. Imagine that thing out in the real world. It just looked amazing.
Now we see the benefit of seeing the final product as opposed to an atomos recorder
Baloon autofocus?? You didn't turn it off in the menu, did you?
Why would anyone use a 150-600 indoors?!?!?
@@catsfpv603 😂 this
This is a video comparison I’ve been waiting for… I want to buy my wife a new camera for an upcoming amazing holiday as an upgrade from her very dated Nikon D5 - the XH2s has been an option since I knew of the rumours but I was erring on the side of the XT4 until you put the 50s2 back in. I’d (almost) discounted the 50, but I’m of the mind that it is far and away the best option. Thank you.
I'd wait a little and see

isn't it pointless testing the non finished firmware? I really apreciate the effort, this is THE video comparison I need right now. but yeah, if the new firmware is so much better then we need to see that :-)
also, did you have IBIS on? it looks like noe stabilization at all, just like my xt3 lol
That's why I said I'm shocked Fuji allowed this into the hands of youtubers to review in its current state. Based on this firmware I would never buy it. Hopefully I can get my hands on a finished copy some day.
@@cameraconspiracies that will be 2 years from now.
Casey, at the 240 HD footage, could it be that the flickering of the cheap LED lighting in the whole shop has something to do with it?
Scratch that, outside it also looks horrible.
It's just really bad. Hopefully they can fix it in a firmware, because it's higher mbps than the XT4, it should look better.
@@cameraconspiracies it looks like an extremely compressed codec. What kind of files are these?
I could watch an entire video of you out of Fuji focus. I couldn’t stop laughing.
I'm disappointed that Fuji didn't get it right after waiting 4 years to release the new generation.
It's not released yet.
I'm Italian, I don't understand English well, but I'll like you before watching the video.
Great
Bought Sony FX3 for video. I have used XT2, XH1, XT3, XT4 before. Guys... I really love Fuji size, aestetics, colors. BUT!
Sony's autofocus, dynamic range, easy to use - is what makes me happy. I can just trust AF. This makes it dramatically easier to shoot! Run and gun:)
Dynamic range also better.
I'll wait for that 40mpix one, I think I will switch from my Nikon D800 if it will perform smoothly.
Like for Fuji to add a firmware update to their promo pens
But XT4 for photography especially in lowlight or astrophotography is still the best among the rest.
Pentax?
Casey,what exactly is ‘’BACK LITTEN’’,?
240p - I'm 95% sure horizontal blur is some type noise reduction bug. It should be fixable.
It kinda shows that the XH2s needs a faster cpu to do the math on those pixels to get sharper fhd at 240 fps. Otherwise, I think it definitely is the better camera.
They claim its processor us x4 times faster than xt4
when he was running slow mo, i was expecting it to be him actually moving slowly to prank us haha
"If you were blind, you would notice it was smooth, until you saw your footage" 😂
The grading on your recent videos looks really nice. What did you change?
I stopped grading.
As usual awesome preview! But 1 question... what shutter did you shoot at? I wondering if the high shutter speed could cause the jitter effect and therefor making the IBIS look worst then it really was?
At first, I thought, “these lenses don’t have T-stop,” but then I remembered it’s all about the Toneh…back when we wanted to see the lake, Tony!
Well, there is no banding on 7:32 for sure. Or at least its not so noticeable.

I have a XT3 one day will get a XH2 or XH3 :)
If that was a Panasonic camera performing like that autofocus-wise, there would have been such an over-reaction. But here, it's within the Fuji magic normal operation? Be consistent my man
oof that autofocus was painful to watch.
It was out of focus because Fuji lost focus, that's what Fuji does lol. It detects faces in the trees and in all kinds of random places.
@@cameraconspiracies Ahhh does continuous focus work at 240p?! I just assumed it had locked onto the wrong thing at the start of the clip. Wasn't a dig at you by the way!

Hey... Will you put your hand on the canon r7 ?
There will be lots of fixes coming to the X-H2s via firmware updates. They're even promising to improve the IBIS from 7 to 8 stops.
I did enjoy this video, thank you
I have had the XH2s in my shopping cart more times than I can count over the last week.
Hey is there a way we can record on nvme ssd with xh2s ?
.... IBIS is as freaky like in my X-T4 :/ AF too isnt good... I think that fuji dont think serious about film makers. How about button for switching AF-C/MF? just switching, or show dialog, and need to choose?
I thought the GFX 50sII didn’t do 4K? Is that a misprint or did something change?
The Fuji rep said it was the 50s II, it was probably the 100s.
I want so badly to love this camera, but they need to get the firmware fixed. Promising reports on that front, but we need you to stress test everything!

Yes. You should be able to pick up a used one as a bargain since they recently released XT 5.
That furnace had better be really firm when it comes out
Nice new intro :D
Did you shoot these pigeons through the window glass? They look hazy. And that would explain AF performance. But vlogging AF looked OK.
If the fuji only improved the AF 100%, it would go head-to-head with sony. She improved points on the camera that were already excellent, but what everyone claims was the AF apparently is still the same
It is quite weird how widely the experience with the autofocus seems to differ...
All the videos by fujifilm : AF is good af.

Hope firmware fixes it.
