  • Boeing 787 Dreamliner is a family of wide-body long-haul airliners, developed by Boeing in the early 2000s. The first commercial airliner with a radically increased proportion of composite materials in the design.
    The 787 is one of the most advanced and most popular modern commercial aircraft.

    I flew the 777 for 19 years and 4 years ago I was introduced to the 787. Wow! What a shock! It’s a fantastic aircraft, everything electric and so friendly; imagine you enter the future and this is what I felt. I became an instructor and it has been an honor to introduce this Dream to my crews. Thank you Boeing!

      Boeing is a great company, and the 787 is the best, I love it, it is so elegant and pretty, did you enjoy flying it? What was it like? How did the plane handle? Was it manueverable? Or did it take time to turn?

    • @StevieWonder737

      It was a superb airplane. Almost no mechanical issues after the battery issue was solved (the subcontractor's quality control) it was virtually flawless.
      As a former fighter pilot I found the responsiveness to be exceptional for an aircraft of its size.
      Performance was impressive in all stages of flight from takeoff to landing.

    I retired from American Airlines in 2001 after thirty four years as an A&P mechanic. I started on the 707 and then on to the 727, 747,757,767. Once retired, I got to fly on the 737, which the company did not buy, and the incredible 777. Since the 787 took to the sky's, I have yet to experience her. However, I have are lot to look forward to. Hopefully, before I leave this life, supersonic flight will once again become a reality. For those of us who spent most of their lives lucky enough to be a part of aviation, I am grateful that the airplane has shrunk our world and united the people of the home we all call planet Earth.

    I have flown in both the 787 and the A350 and I understand why people compare both aircraft. Both feel the same overall with a higher humidity and higher air pressure cabins, both have RGB LED lighting, and both are relatively new aircraft. The only clear difference in experience is that the 787 has a slightly narrower seats for being a narrower plane.

    • @artdelac
      @artdelac 6 років тому +70

    • @erikbuiten14

    • @artdelac
      @artdelac 6 років тому +30

      MaidenAirTM Hmm, that is a very narrow, misguided view. You have to realize that the 787 was originally designed by Boeing to accommodate 8 abreast seating but it was the AIRLINES that decided to squeeze 9 seats for more profit. I appreciate both Boeing and Airbus but facts should matter. In fact, it is Airbus that is giving their airline customers the option of 11 abreast seating in the latest version of the A380. How could that be comfortable on long haul flights?

    • @bboyjunyor
      @bboyjunyor 6 років тому +13

      Educate yourself! the A350 is wider! "The cabin's internal width will be 5.61 m (18.4 ft) at armrest level compared to 5.49 m (18.0 ft) in the Boeing 787[106] and 5.87 m (19.3 ft) in the Boeing 777"
      The A350 does seem to be a bit more comfortable and it feels a bit more premium compared to the B787! I have flown a few on both! (from norwegian, klm to qatar and singapore which have both models)

They are so proud of their work that they have their customers worldwide just look in awe at these structural components more often than before. My dad owns a big international company. They just bought a brand new 787 for the company jet..I have flown on it a few times already and its very nice and fast. It has a few bedrooms showers etc. Private flying is really the only way to fly. There are certain attributes in being wealthy. I am not rich, but if I were, I'd want a yacht more than a plane. My dad has a yacht , but I don't. Its pretty big and I like cruising on it when he allows me to partake. One day maybe I will inherit his wealth, but my dad already said that when he passes, he's leaving all his fortune to charity as he says , I'd be better off with making it on my own. I've tried to just let it go in one ear out the other , but I guess its his money , and for the while my family and I are allowed to use his big assets , so I better protect him as I sure don't want him to die. I found that being a billionaire has its quirks , and believe me my dad has a lot of quirks. And I am still a young lad, for he might change his mind some day.

    Enjoyed this video, in fact I really like this channel and the work you do. Some of the aviation content on UA-cam. As for the 787, it is now my favorite aircraft to fly on. It is comfortable, even in economy class (I have literally flown around the world on this aircraft, with BA).Great cabin environment, for all the reasons that you gave. As result, I find that I arrived at my long haul destinations much more fresh than on previous aircrafts. More than likely due to this and to the quieter cabin. Another thing that I have noticed, though this maybe more a coincidence based on the flights that I was on, but the airframe’s construction seems to help dampen the effects of moderate turbulence.
    Aesthetically, the plane is beautiful to look at, especially its wings in flight. They are such a clean and efficient design. All and all, I am enthusiastic about this plane. Once more thank you for making this well produced video.

      Quote: "airframe’s construction seems to help dampen the effects of moderate turbulence"
      Perhaps you missed the portion of the video where active electronic turbulence abatement was described, as that's responsible for your comfort not the airframe. From Boeing: "Sensors on the 787 sense and dampen turbulence for a more comfortable ride and less motion sickness."

    I flew on this airplane. It looked great! There was a great IFE, a window that didn't need a shade to seal off light from the sun, it looked something from the future, except it was actually living in the present!

    I fly a fair amount around the world, about 200 - 250 K miles a year... I have only flown once on a 787. Wow, I loved it! the big windows and the extra pressurization really impressed me. It was very quiet too.

    The 787 is the best flying experience I've ever had. The cabin humidity makes a huge difference compared to other aircraft, it feels spacious and it's pretty quiet, even when I sat just above the wings. Never flew on the A350 though.

      @@wmeemw994 it is astonishing considering that the A350, the 787s closest competitor, had an original development cost of 5 billion dollars, before the 2008 redesign doubled it to 10 billion and later 12 billion, reached break even in 2019, while the 787, which has about double the sales, was launched first and entered commercial service before the A350, has yet to do reach said mark.

    Very slick and instructive video. The 787 is a great aircraft to fly in. Unfortunately it is still experiencing some additional problems vis a vis the fuselage bonding as also with the vertical and horizontal stabiliser tolerances. Hope they are minor and can be resolved. compared to the 777 this aircraft has narrower seats and a more cramped cabin.(I think the airlines are to be blamed for this as they are greedy.)..the positive factors for the 787 are the noise factor and the ambient cabin lighting

    • @justincui

      Here's another point: For those saying that Boeing is solely responsible for the Rolls Royce issues because Boeing wanted RR to make an efficient Trent engine in the first place, that makes the airlines solely responsible for the MAX victims because the airlines wanted Boeing to make a more efficient 737 in the first place. However, if the airlines that weren't informed about mcas are not to be blamed for the MAX, Boeing, who was never informed by RR about anything, is not to be blamed for the Trent 1000.

      The quality of work in So Carolina is inferior, the level of expertise is fiercely inferior and can't be compared to that of Seattle's. In Charleston, it's alleged that people are hired from off the street without any work experience, let alone knowing how to assemble a plane. They're told just follow the instructions. No oversight and everything is signed off without anyone checking the work. They go to lunch or take a break, smoke a weed or two and then go back trying to assemble an airplane! Yes, I would refuse delivery of any aircraft from there, as well. Only from Seattle is where that AIRLINER said they would accept their fleet. STILL LOVE BOEING. Everyone screws up at some time or another. BUT YOU GOTTA PAY.
