Animals ....... just dont You need a transportation autorisation for a start . Defra can then issue you the certificate to transport animals if the distance is over 65km . Naturally it names the animal type , amount , wheres it come from and off to , the amount of time it should take etc . Of course paperwork takes 2 weeks to come through . If however you intend to do some distance so then its a completely different load of paperwork and yet another autorisation but this time for the vehicle . Either way you cant just bung rufus into the back and get on with it if you are getting paid . Over 8 hours of travel and it becomes super dooper painful so dont ask . Prior to that you need to stop , water/feed/exercise/give them a break under defra regulations depending on what you are carrying . While all this is happening you need a traceable navigation system ( you can use your phone ) . If you are suffling horses and whatnot around you need a certificate of competence , not so much on a hamster unless you go over 8 hours then you do . If hammy is going over 12 hrs then its a basically a vet both ends ! and its a little unclear but you may have to pay someone to travel in the place hammys going to be ..... best just not to ..... When someone was moving house they would ask to bung rover or tiddles in the back with the rest of the household items ..... nope , not a bloody chance .
Nothing to add, just saying Hello from the other side - the new New Channel with nothing on it (yet!)

Has it been busy for you? Jan is normally quiet
Not sure if its a legal requirement for live animals. But you need some sort of permit from Defra to transport dead animals.
