What electric fan did you use?
The TC pistons run looser clearance becuase they’re forged and have a different expansion rate.
Ring gap is always wider on boosted apps so the rings don’t butt when things get hot.
    Love it!
I have a 93 Ranger I’m doing the same thing too. I had a complete TC motor but decided to rebuild a 93 engine with DIS w/ Forged crower rods,CP pistons,ARP everywhere,Boport stage 3 head w/ 2.1 cam,Boport upper/lower intakes, turbo upgrade from BNR supercars, and a Bobslog w/ flip kit so I can keep my AC.
Disc brake 8.8 goes in this weekend using the No weld method.

Nice. I have an electric fan as an auxiliary to the clutch fan should i see the temp gauge rise on exceptionally hot days and slow traffic. Also for a/c

Today was the first 90ish degree day we’ve had since I installed it. When I set it up I didn’t use the trigger on the controller that turns the fan on any time the a/c compressor is on and it was apparent that the a/c wasn’t working very well. This evening I added the trigger wire and it’s a huge difference in how well the a/c works now.

I think the piston specs are more lenient on the turbo coupe to account for lower compression to avoid detonation because of the turbo application.

I was looking at the older foxbody mustang 2.3 bore specs as well, and from what I can find they appear to be the same as the turbocoupe, and different than the later Ranger years like mine, so I’m not sure that’s the reasoning. I don’t have a complete list of all the numbers though to confirm. The bore was what I was as talking about in the video, the differences in piston tolerances could very well be due to the material differences between turbo and non-turbo pistons (forged vs. cast) but I’m not sure.

Did you have the rotating assembly balanced? Also I know you’re a ways from completion but a full cost and parts breakdown would be sick when you’re done! I’ve been kicking the budget build idea around for a year now but I know how project costs tend to multiply once you start

I didn’t have anything balanced. There are several videos after this one you can watch. The truck is currently running and I’m in the process of tuning it. I may come up with a list like that, we’ll see. Thanks!
