Hey y'all! I haven't done a beginner video in a while, so I truly hope this was helpful! I wanted to talk about epoxy, specifically KS Resin's Liquidy Split fast set epoxy. I absolutely love it! If you have any questions, please let me know!

I absolutely ADORE you and your content! I have to tell you that the respirator you are using is strictly a dust particle respirator. You are subjecting yourself to VOC's when you use that. I am 100% not trying to be snarky or spread "hate". My husband painted vehicles for 30+ years and he now has trouble with breathing issues because of isocyanates. When he started, safety standards were WELL below what they are now. When he saw me with the "pink respirator" he sat me down to let me know that I was not being safe because of the VOC in epoxy. I implore you sweet girl.....please get a VOC respirator. You are so young and I honestly would hate to see anything happen to you because of your amazing craft! If you can smell alcohol through a respirator.....it is not protecting you!!
Thanks for not leaving us newbees in the dust.
Of course!💜
I really needed that cup of positivity thank you for all you do.
You’re so welcome 💜
Thank you for sharing with all of us. Your the best!!! 💜💜💜💜
Thank you Ms Patti, you’re the sweetest 💜
This is so informative. The best tutorial on epoxy yet
Aww thank you 💜
Hi Courtney, I love your videos, so informative and very well structured. I will be doing tumblers after the first of the year, thanks to you. Love crafting. Also Love your Buckeye shirt. I'm from right outside of Columbus, Ohio, small town Canal Winchester. Have a great Holliday and keep the lessons coming !
Hi Charlene! That’s amazing I’m so happy I’ve been able to help you!💜
Thank you so much for this
You’re so welcome!
I've tried a lot of different epoxies and I am a die-hard customer for Mr. Nola's Glitter Speed Dry Epoxy. I mix it for 2 minutes then "massage" onto the tumbler for 2 minutes. There are ZERO bubbles and I never have to hit the tumbler with heat. It is dry to the touch in 2 hours. You should test it!
Thank you Courtney for all the knowledge you share and amazing work you do. I use the same mask and I am a newbie (I read a lot on that mask and because it has those filters it does help with any/all the chemicals etc. associated with epoxy (besides KSResin has no VOC) sooo no need to add any disclaimers and I too LOVE the KSresin (both forms too).
Thank you 💜💜
Glad to see that your eyes are obviously doing much better. 😀 Were you able to figure out what the problem was? On a side note, please make sure you’re wearing a mask for vapors when using epoxy. 🥰
Thank you! My doctor said it had to have been allergy related! My allergies have been killer this year lol
I started using Tub o Towels to remove epoxy from my hands, especially when using fast set. I wash my hands after epoxying. My husband got them for me, they remove epoxy, grease and such. You can get the huge container from Northern Tool or a small container from Harbor Freight. It’s just an alternative incase you’re in the middle of epoxying and can’t wash your hands immediately.
Awesome!
I love that you use a popsicle stick. I use that as well and NEVER have trouble but I see so many people online being so mean to people about using them and saying they make more bubbles.
Thank you! For a while I use a silicone stir stick from The Glitter Grind, but I must have accidentally threw it away with my mixing cups or something because I can’t find them lol! But, I do like using popsicle sticks. I’m sure I’ll get all kinds of rude comments on this video by morning lol!
@@CourtneysCustoms You are a Queen in the tumbler world. No one should have anything to say to you.
PS...I got my vinyl order yesterday and I am SOOO excited to use that clear leopard print. I have so many ideas already lol.
@@amyboyd8831 oh my goodness THANK YOU! That means the absolute world to me!! And oh YAY!! I cannot wait to see what you make, please update me with pictures 😍
@@CourtneysCustoms I will for sure!!!
I mix fast, use a popsicle stick, never use a torch and don’t have bubble issues. I’ve learned a good epoxy with degasser along with thin coats and a spritz of alcohol will do the job for you.
can you use ksfast set on the bullett for all coats thats all i have in the house at thia time and dont want to order more where im getting done doing epoxy will it turn yellow also thank u
Those filters you showed are for particulate matter (dust) only - NOT for volatile organic compounds (VOC). They'll prevent you from inhaling glitter, but that's about it. You should probably include a note about that, if you're trying to teach newbies.
Thank you
Ooo thank you for your knowledge!
I have a question, what’s the difference in using Fast Set Epoxy than using regular ( not just the name 😂) but like can you use it without using the part A and Part B mixture?
I hope this make sense 😂🤦🏾♀️
You’re welcome!! And with regular epoxy you still have to mix parts A and B together. The mixing process is the same, the fast set just dries WAY quicker! There is a product called Crystalac that’s an epoxy alternative and there’s no mixing required there!
@@CourtneysCustoms ooooooo I see!!! Thank you for the break down!!
No problem!
I’ve found that if I spritz a little alcohol where I got epoxy on myself then immediately wash with dish soap it comes right off. Just another option.
Oh very cool, thank you!!💜
Courtney,
Thanks you so much for your awesome videos! Just started using epoxy, ks resin! I’m kind of a newby! Troubleshooting an issue with a tumbler! Around the bottom rim is thicker than the rest of the tumbler! Any idea how to prevent this going forward? Thanks for any help you can give! I think I have watched every video you have put out! :)
Hi Cathy!! It sounds like your turners are not level and it’s causing the epoxy to shift towards the bottom
@@CourtneysCustoms thanks! I will check that!!!! Makes sense!
Hi! I love your videos! Thank you so much for sharing…. Question- if you sublimate on a tumbler, do you still epoxy it?
Hi there!! And nope, if you sublimate no epoxy is needed 💜
@@CourtneysCustoms thank you so much!
I get the WORST bubbles with the liquidity split. I love how it cures though. Bubbles are my greatest but only problem. I’ve used the torch, heat gun, alcohol and I still have bubbles. When I use the torch, I can still see the bubbles. They won’t pop.
thank you courtney. ?? I only have trouble with fish eyes when I have vinyl on my
tumbler, or notebook. What am I doing wrong? All others are good.
Maybe try adding a layer of mod podge over the entire tumbler and let it dry before epoxy
Hi Courtney - love you, your channel, and your accent. You held up a tumbler that had epoxy on it and you said it had to be sanded. Why is that? Do you have to sand between all coats of epoxy?
Aww thank you!! And when I add glitter usually after the first coat of epoxy it still feels rough. Especially chunky glitter. So I’ll sand with a sanding block before the next layer of epoxy to help smooth things out
So you only need to sand if there’s a blemish or rough areas. Makes sense now. Thank you!😊
I just got in some of the Liquidity Split epoxy and I'm struggling with bubbles. Does a torch work better than a heat gun? My heat gun doesn't seem to be doing anything to these bubbles.
Yes a torch is definitely better!
I have been using KS Resin for a few months and i love it but in the last month or so I have been having trouble with it curing. I mix it for least 4 minutes and it keeps coming out sticky. I do the same thing each time and some are sticky some aren't. Help
That is so odd. I would be contacting customer service
Could not have just poured into one cup and measured?
How many coats of the epoxy do you end up putting on your tumbler? And how long do you let it dry between each coat??
I usually end up putting around 4 coats total. I only work once a day so I’m usually waiting around 20 hours before adding another coat
@@CourtneysCustoms but what is the normal waiting time between coats
@@vickielawson5121 I’ve heard of people adding “flood coats” in as little as 4 hours. But, I believe the “normal” time is around 8-10 hours
@@CourtneysCustoms thank you
Now I'm wondering if you could possibly do a step-by-step how to do a Bombay glitter I have tried and I cannot seem to accomplish it
If you mean an ombre glitter tumbler, I have a tutorial on that💜 ua-cam.com/video/HSRtRr5SpAo/v-deo.html
I hate these stupid so called smart phone
Now I made a cup why does it still smell like epoxy I washed it like a dozen times will it be ok to drink out of
What kind of epoxy did you use? Is it still sticky at all?
Nope it's cured
Amazing clearcast
@@amberbernicke7956 if it stinks I definitely would not drink from it
Don’t buy large nitrile examination gloves anymore, they’re too loose on your hands and you’re not giving your hands the best amount of dexterity and protection for your hands because your hands deserve better gloves than these gloves that you are using in this video
Instead I would recommend these two options
1. Size Small Nitrile Examination Gloves
2. Size Extra Small Nitrile Examination Gloves
Both of these nitrile gloves sizes that I mentioned should fit your hands better and give your hands the right amount of dexterity and protection that your hands deserve and please make sure that you trim your fingernails for the video as well because I don’t want your fingernails to be poking through the nitrile gloves especially if you buy the size extra small or size small nitrile examination gloves, because I don’t want you to rip them in the video because if your fingernails aren’t trimmed they’ll ruin the gloves
There is no way I can get a size small glove on my hands lol. Mediums are even too tight. I prefer the large. Thank you for your concern though
