  • In today's video I install a 240cc big bore kit on my homemade Yamaha blaster 2 stroke drag minibike. I build a nice custom gas tank integrated in the frame. Stay tuned for it's first drag strip pass.

Good call on the blue, looks great! I wasn't really feeling the UT orange either 😆😆 I can't wait to see that thing rip! It's already awesome and it's not even finished. Just protect your knee!!! Hate to see you get hurt again and that thing will be plenty fast enough to do it! Great work, as always, keep it up my Tennessee brother, lol

Bad ass mini bike man! I wouldn't change a thing. Dont sell yourself short with the tank welds. SS takes years of practice. I think you've done really well.

I used to shave the piston to advance the inlet timing and also take out the head gasket and use valve grinding paste to seat the head to the barrell. Also retune the airbox inlet.

By the way, I just finishedish my latest project. It's because of you and people like you making awsome videos like this that I felt inspired to do it at all. It's a beast but seems bleak compared to what you build. Keep putting this stuff out there. I get so many great ideas. For instance I've been struggling with a fuel tank problem. You just thought me what I should do. Thank you so much! Thank you!

If the transfer ports (Im sure they are) are different between the two cylinders, you need to port match the new cylinder and cases. Dont forget to trim the base gasket! Requires splitting the cases, so plan on it and a crank rebuild at the same time. Nice tank. Need a bigger rear wheel/tire.

I really really hope you weighed the original piston, wrist pin, piston rings, circlips, and compared it to the weight of all the new stuff from the big bore kit. The piston, rings, wrist pin, and circlips. Why to rebalance the engine well the new parts if not you will be buying a new crank most likely. Always always check the weight when going to a bigger piston. Usually the larger piston will weigh more. Witch makes the job easy for you. With taking a dremel and removing material from unnecessary spots on the piston. If the engine is already together I would still recommend pulling the head and jug/cylinder and checking your weights.

If you really want to exploit the potential of a 2 stroke like this, you should start taking some measurements. Like the ports degrees, the squish area, the compression ratio etc. Just putting the new cylinder as a "plug&play" part is nice but it still has some room for improvements. Keep on with the good work!

That thing is insane. But it needs 3 things badly as a drag bike: a looong "swingarm", even if it dont swing; a wheelie bar; and a much larger back wheel and tire. It just looks wrong with that tiny one. Bigger wheel allows bigger sprocket for harder launch.
