    Such a lovely video! (I’m BoB Mindset, I like to watch videos using a secret profile 😂). I used to own MJ Omega bronzer, a lovely velvety texture. But I like even sheerer bronzers. The Surratt one is my current favorite. I would like to record a video about my blushes, but I’m worried to know how many I own..

      Ah, the lengths we go to go protect our privacy. Smart move! 😂
      I've heard lovely things about Surratt's bronzers (and blushes, and eyeshadows…) but I have yet to try anything from the brand. I would definitely watch a video about your blushes! But I understand what it's like to face all of them at once. For me, it's eyeshadow palettes that I'm dreading. I have soooooooooooooooo many…

    I loved the effect that played when your contour powder fit into your everyday eye palette! 😂
    I used to have that Laura Mercier highlighter! It’s so pretty! It was my only highlighter at the time and I almost panned it completely.
    It’s so hard to declutter an excellent formula like your bronzer. I’m impressed you were able to let it go! 💪🏻
    The first blush I ever bought was Hourglass Dim Infusion. I NEVER used blush because I have rosacea and I never wanted to add color to my cheeks. But someone on UA-cam said it was the perfect blush for someone who was afraid of blush. It was my only blush for YEARS!! I panned two compacts! I still keep my 3rd compact for sentimental reasons even though I don’t wear it often anymore. It was a product that made me feel confident for so long and opened me up to new things.

    • @TheStyleStumbler
      @TheStyleStumbler  Місяць тому

      Haha! It felt so satisfying when I saw that it fit in that palette. 😂
      WOW. How did you manage to nearly pan that highlighter? I've been using it regularly for years and I feel like it shows no sign of use.
      I'm so glad you relate to the difficulties in decluttering excellent formulas. It really was hard to let it go. 😂
      That's so funny! Dim Infusion has been on my wishlist for a long time! Maybe that will be the one to replace my Clinique Nude Pop blush.
      I very much relate to being afraid of blush due to rosacea. That's also why the whole "blush on the nose" trend passed me by. Although I have rosacea on my cheeks, it' worst on my nose.

    I started use a “time will tell” just after you started this series when transitioning to summer makeup. Thanks for the idea.
    That Lancôme blush tends to look very brick red in the sunshine + shimmer. It’s unique but more for a beach vacay imo. It’s sneaky.
    12 but 4 are doubles :) lots of options if you do combos of them.

    • @TheStyleStumbler
      @TheStyleStumbler  Місяць тому +2

      Sneaky blushes are the best - and the worst. Fun to play with, but not always practical, especially when I first change seasons and have to reacquaint myself with the different tones.
      I'm so glad the "time will tell" concept is helping! I've heard several people discuss it, but I think I first heard it from Dawn @TheMinimalMom - which happens to be a great channel for anyone who needs decluttering inspiration.

    A break after the eye shadow declutter seems warranted.
    The highlighters look nice. A dewy sheen with some sparkle comes through on camera.
    When I hear of makeup being a bright orange, I shudder at the thought of the Oompah Loopmpah fake and bake spray tan being the next thing from the early 2000s for Gen Z to "discover" and bring back.
    Even in the real world swatch, the orange bronzer doesn't match your skin tone, time to let it go.
    I've started to notice a slight change in my hair color, not that it matters to me. It used to be really dark black and it's getting lighter to my eye. And with how stressed I've been of late I wouldn't be surprised if I went gray overnight.
    I like the mucky blushes. There's just the slightest hint of purple in all of them that I can see making a sublimely dramatic statement when you wear it, but it's not overpowering. It's what I would consider the best part of the no makeup makeup looks.
    It's really smart of you to take time/age into consideration for your declutter. I understand the nostalgia of keeping things that were the first purchase or have some other sentimentality to them, but there comes a point where it's better to have the memory than the thing, especially if the thing is at the end of its useful life.
    If you really know the hows and whens of something in your collection, that's awesome because it means you're using it enough and hopefully maximizing your enjoyment.
    A sunburn is a radiation burn. It's the payback for blocking the suns rays from causing photosynthesis at the last moment after light years of travel. 😆
    The joy in your voice is a ray of light in my gloomy existence, so thank you.

      Zach! It's always lovely to hear from you!
      Spray tans have gotten so much better since the early 2000s - I'm kind of hoping we might be able to skip the hot cheetoh look from coming back. I will do my part and pass on the orange bronzer. 🤣
      Are you getting a cool chunk of lighter hair? Or turning a delicious salt and pepper? Either way, I'm sure it suits you. The perfect bed for a pith helmet. 😉 I haven't noticed any changes yet, but as a blond with ashy undertones, I don't know that the difference will be dramatic once it starts.
      I'm glad you enjoy the mucky blushes too! They really are a lot of fun.
      Letting go of that MAC blush was initially difficult, but I feel pretty good about that decision now that it's done.
      Yeah... we're all pretty selfish, getting in the way of all those photons. We deserve the burn. 🤣
      I'm so glad I could uplift you a little bit in these tough times. I hope you know you always do the same for me. Thank you.

      @@TheStyleStumbler I'm hoping that the hot cheetoh look will stay in the past, but I've seen some pretty horrendous mullets and late 90s style blond dye jobs lately so who knows. But there is this weird strand of bougie that exists in my local area, so if I see the fake and bake, I'll take it as a general outlier.
      I'm getting some salt and pepper in the face fuzz, but it's slower going with hair up top. But I've started noticing a few here and there. I'm sure however your hair changes, you'll wear it with exceeding grace and poise.
      It's not quite the same thing as your MAC blush, but I've had the same pen in my car that I use for tracking my gas mileage for almost 20 years. But I think it's coming to the end. I know I should get rid of it, but it's been my one constant vehicular companion since I started driving.
      You're videos are islands of calm on the rocky road I'm traveling, of which I'm always supremely appreciative. It brings me a heartwarming satisfaction to know that I'm doing the same for you. ☺😥🥺🥰

      @@zachbecvar I don't know… I think I follow that school of thought that if a mullet is really bad, that makes it good. Nothing beats a bad good mullet. 😂 I feel like Germans have been stuck in the eighties for the past 40 years straight, so most trends pass right by me. I haven't seen any 90's dye jobs yet. Perhaps my next tour will reveal some hot cheetoh looks.
      I've always been a fan of grey hair on nearly everyone. So it's not a change I'm dreading, and it's one that I've enjoyed seeing in friends and family over the years. I'm sure you're looking quite debonair.
      That pen story is so relatable. It's funny how "things" can somehow become companions.
      I'm so sorry to hear that things are rocky for you right now.
      It's a testament to your goodhearted nature that you continue to bring light into the world when you feel like everything is so dark. I hope you're able to find a little bit of light for yourself, as well.💛

    Sadly the Clinique blushes are the powdery baked formula that doesn't repress well. I've used remnants mixed with primer to use them up. The Elf putty primer worked really well, basically I've made my own putty blush. 😅

    I have a similar issue with purple-leaning blushes, they tend to look like a muddy bruise on my skin. I very excitedly bough Maidens Blush from RMS last year and sadly it sort of had that effect on my skin so despite to lovely formula I passed it on to friend whom it suits much better.

    What type is this guerlain bronzer? I think the one colour ones from them is completely matte. Can’t see anything with glow that looks like yours… I have too much bronzer, but I can pull off very different colours and also use them for different combinations 😮 but I also have not sorted my makeup by type but just by colours and combinations I wear together so I would first need to look where all my different bronzers are 😂

    • @TheStyleStumbler
      @TheStyleStumbler  Місяць тому +2

      It's the Guerlain Terracotta Bronzer in shade 03. I believe they make a matte version and a glowy one - I had the glowy one.
      That sounds like a great way to organize your makeup! Then you always have the combinations you use all in one place. I love hearing how other people store and use their cosmetics. 😂

      Yes I am very much colour focused and also change my purse every day, my jewellery etc. so in earlier times I always searched every makeup item in the right colour for every category, now I have just everything together. So now with summer for example I love orange and corals in clothing also, so I just get my box with all my lipsticks, lipglosses, blushes, eyeshadow and summery bronzers that I tend to wear with it and that’s it. No need to be bothered by any makeup that I usually do not wear with it anyway and I always know what specific makeup is for 😅 I remember how often I had to swatch lipsticks before searching for the right colour (my favourite category that I always have too many of)
