I like your choice of music. Also, thanks for the narration. The only problem is sometimes the lighting makes the narration difficult to read.

Nice work! I am looking forward to the transmission mod video. Curious too see how the diff lock will work.

It,s a mechanical locker. That engage when pressing the gas. So no need for vacuum or electric lock. It’s like the classic “Detroit locker”. I will also make a video when driving off-road with it....later on...

Nice work, I also have a conversion on mine with a 1y 1.9d, but my gearbox with 5speed is to short, what do you recommend to get more than 90km/h?! 😂

I want to convert the engine of my air cooled 2000 t3 to water cooling. Which engines are compatible? From the Volkswagen group.

Hi, first of all great work!
I got same engine in my T3, but i think that there is a problem with my pump. After i start my engine there is a lot of smoke, and sometimes, randomly, lack of power .. :( In my car i see a lot of cables from my pump, but you said that we only need few of them. Do you think that guy who swap this engine could swap all elektronics for pump to? I can see some electrovalves too that are coming from front side of the van…

What was kind of money are we talking to do a conversion to this standard?

It all depends on how nice engine you start with. A lowmilage unit like I bought is more expensive of course but will be the best in the long run. If you do everything yourself around 3000-4000 euros

I had 1.7d would like to swap for something strong like aef for example, would it fit 4 gear gerbox or need to put 5 gears?

I have 4-speed transmission. They all have the same final drive, it’s not the number of gears that matters and the 4-speed is a better designed gearsbox. The 5speeds are crap, the bearing on 5th gear got almost no support and that’s why they after awhile starts jumping out of 5th gear when driving.

@@MainDrive I just read the blog on your site. can you take the 1.9 AEF on the highway? I know you geared the tranny for off-road but I am curios as you took it over 3000km. Thanks I really enjoyed the details you put into your build

Yes Robert I drive it on the highways. But with low geared trans and offroad tires it not a favourite, but really no problem either. But it was built for dirtroads and trails
