I have the Same Engine Afn Deisel 1.9 I have put on the T3 and i have fumes problems where it breaths on the cap Valve and spits oil. I removed the pipe valve and put a a cap so it wont spit oil . where is the problem from the carter?
I notice that you left the turbo oil drainage as original instead connecting it to the oil pan. Did you notice any pressure issue? I'm working on the swap and I'm figuring out how to do all the adaptations

Hello. Well I just bought the car, changed the timing belt and noticed some pitting on the camshaft tips. Maybe the previous owner used wrong oil or was lazy changing it. So Im going to change the camshaft and lifters. I figured this might be a good time to clean the intake manifold, maybe take off the cylinder head and check/clean everything.

Hi, no Audi was 2wd, I don't think that you can adapt. I think, that if CV's are very high and driveshaft on really high angle, propshaft would need to go through body panels.

@@Ottobrain maybe I misunderstood you. My Syncro after the engine swap is still 4WD, as I changed only the engine, the drive system is still the same. Now the AUDI was 2wd. But even if it were a Quattro, I believe that you can't adapt the Quattro system to a VW T3. Because when you flip it, the drive outputs of the gearbox get really high, as I mentioned before. But it's just my opinion.

Let me know, if you will come up with any solution. I have heard, that people are adopting Subaru gearboxes. You need to upgrade R&P of the gearbox, it's side interchangeable, probably you could flip the front DIFF or there are also R&P made to rotate in another direction.

@@rean6701 Hi, if You want to start the engine and as You say IMMO is OFF, basically you need to connect every vital connector (as crankshaft sensor, camshaft and else ) from the engine to the ECU loom. Then from ecu to the fuse box loom side connect 3,31,62 pins with power, (12 volts) ignition live. Then 1 and 2 pins with the ground. The engine should make some clicking sound. The rest will be to connect the dash according to the wiring diagram that you will find on google. Also for Ecu pinout google "vw asz ecu pinout", check the image site and you will see the detailed info.
@@Gadomaitis Hi really appreciate the reply , i don't want to use the dash want to use the original dash my issue now is the comms i connect the ODB2 connector directly to the the ecm can bus and k line bur no comms.
I thought You will use the original T3 cluster, the original cluster will require connecting also. It should connect via OBD, maybe missing some positive wire? double-check the wires, if everything is connected.

Hi Michal, hm, there is a leak in to the intake manifold. But I think that leak was already before my engine conversion, because when I was disassembling donor Audi, intercooler and all hoses were oilish. There is also white smoke, when I start the engine, but there's no smell of burned oil, like I used to feel earlier from 1Z engine with dead turbo. I believe that leak is +- normal for an engine with +300k km.and also i don't know the history of my donor car. Do you have same setup? @@Gadomaitis I totally understand - maybe just in terms of length to fit as perfectly as it does, or else your approach to making the part - what measures you took (ex. distance between the two zones it screws into and measure of the distance it needs to curve around the engine) what factors you took into account (weight of the engine?) how you decided on the thickness of it as a support, and the zone exactly where you placed it. Sorry for all the questions but this is new to me. Any guidance you can lend without racking your brain too much (having to think too hard) would be great. Cheers.

I have used everything that I was able to find in my garage and I was hoping it will be enough, and I must say it's still holding fine. I have curved it around the engine on the site, made a cut, but not cut into two pieces and I have bent it to the right angle and welded it back. As the engine hangs on 4 engine mounts, I assumed that if 3 o them going to be bolted that would give me exact distance and length of the support. Sorry, I think I can't help with the dimensions of this engine mount.

@@Gadomaitis Though AFAIK you can buy only an EURO4 DPF and get it registered at a German TUV. I'd also be interested in this for my 1.9TDIs - but in Finland there is no way to add it to registration papers and some cities have started to require EURO6 while there isn't even a EURO5 DPF for my AWX :(. Would need a complete engine swap (and still registration with upgraded emission-class). The only way to actually do it would be to make an EV, which is possible and wouldn't need any emissions stuff of course. I think EURO6 is not really possible for vehicles since they really require adblue injection...
Actually I'm thinking the same way, I have seen on FB people are doing EV swaps and it's doable. Another good thing with EV swaps is the gearbox. Originally it's a weak spot and the swap can eliminate it. Of course, going EV is not as easy as Instal bolt on AFN engine.

Tell me more, what's the benefit having mtdi instead of TDI? Isn't it's easier and cheaper to chip tune ECU rather than lift the HP in the mechanical pump?
@@Gadomaitis with mecanical pump you will avoid all Electronic problems (flow meter, sensors)... I build pump between 110 and 170hp for only 320€. And between 180hp and 220hp for 600€. it is not expensive compared to doing a chip in view of the electric problems...

Have you left the plate, between the oil sump and the engine block? Though, I don't know if that would be the reason.

Hi, at @ 13:39 I'm redoing oil drain to the oil sump. Recently I have changed turbo core, cause it was leaking oil to the intake and on the pavement.

Did you had any issues with the turbo because is so low? That is why u connected the drain line to the oil sump and not in the engine?
I didn't had problems. Return oil should return easily to the oil sump, I have heard, that otherwise you might have engine oil in exhaust pipes.

Hi, if I remember right, OEM bolts is 8 mm. Sounds like too small but they are enough.

Hi, I haven't done Golf engine by myself, but I have heard that it's bolt-on, you don't need to fabricate any engine mounts.

Originaly the afn motor has splash plate on the oilsump. Did you leave it in there or did you remove it?
I don't know if I did right or wrong, but I left it.

Mecanical pump works good on tdi vp. All you need is good pump for your setup.
Just note that less than 140hp will not smoke, but over 140hp will smoke like a charm lol
