This was the first Parkway Drive song I had ever heard, found it on my sister iPod back in 2010, and as I’m listening it was almost like reaching another realm. It grabbed me, captured my soul, and I’ve been a very loyal fan since. Parkway Drive was how I got introduced to metal and I am eternally grateful. ♥️
Such a classic song at this point, can't believe it's been 12 years. Already loved metal back then but was my first Parkway drive song as well, I remember seeing some parts of this video clip being filmed in Brisbane where I lived at the time. Saw them live many times too, good times back then, need time machine! 2022 sucks :( lol
Mine was 'Romance is dead', shown to me by my gorgeous goth babysitter because I loved metal as a 5 year old but all I knew about was like Metallica & Iron Maiden haha
I discovered these guys through MySpace in the mid to late 2000s and just like you they pulled me right in. I was in metal heaven. Then they came through my little town of Las Cruces, NM USA on Warped Tour all the way from Australia and I saw them live. It was even better then listening to them for the 1st time. I think I sold my acoustic guitar and a few cymbals to go to that Warped Tour.

Parkway Drive has always been VERY deep, lyrically. This is a powerful , uplifting song for sure.

From what I recall, I first had seen this music video in 2010. Thank you, Parkway Drive, for this inspiration. This music video and song is still extremely impactful and mind blowing to me today.

To enslave us in a system that does nothing for us except close us off to the beauty and soul of the earth we live on. It's despicable and sickening. People need to wake up to the bullshit they surround themselves with. Myself included sometimes. We get so caught up in our own heads. Every time I listen to this the meaning expands for me. The album Deep Blue needs a cohesive video for the whole album in the theme of this video for Sleepwalker. Deep Blue is the most thematic metalcore album of all time!
At the end when he escapes the hell that modern society has become, wrote 'Save your self' on the beach and ventured towards the unknown ocean..... That part gets me every time.
I remember when Parkway Drive was just getting big. I'm glad they're getting noticed by a lot of people now. They've always been one of my favorite bands and always will be.

Same here. Im a death metal FIEND...but I am also no damn elitist. Elitism is cancer for the entire metal genre and all of it's sub-genres. I have fucking t-shirts ranging from Dying Fetus to Chelsea Grin to Parkway Drive. My taste and love for metal is all over the spectrum...because I love metal for what it is...great MUSIC. The REAL posers are the people that corner themselves and tie themselves up within a certain genre and refuse to listen to or like any other music that isn't part of that specific genre...those people are what I call try hards and hipsters, those are the real posers. Usually those people are kids that are just getting into metal, because once you become an adult you start to realise that elitism is corny as hell and you start not giving a shit about genres in general.
i listen to any kind of metal, Slam, Metalcore, Doom, doesn't matter, i even listen to non-metal music and rock/punk rock, good music is good music, what can i say?

As a minimalist and someone who is in the process of getting back to nature this song has a great deal of meaning in my life and is a source of motivation. End goal being the man on the beach who has broken free of material things and the need to compete only to consume.
I cannot say enough about how truly awesome this band is!!!
