- how to change orient mako 2 glass crystal .
Sharks have remained virtually unchanged for millions of years, so we thought it was time for an upgrade: most notably, the new Orient caliber F6922 and a more robust 120-click bezel - sometimes evolution needs a kick in the fin.
Since the mid-2000s, the Orient Mako has been the most popular Orient series to date. With so many diver watches available, it could be said with confidence that the Mako is one of the top affordable mechanical diver watches on the market today.
Mako II
On forums and blogs alike, the Orient Mako is an absolute classic and can be attributed to being the watch that started it all for collectors and enthusiasts (and Watch Idiot Savants for that matter) around the globe. The Mako II builds upon the Mako legacy. It has transitioned away from the reliable 46943 automatic movement to the more robust Caliber F6922 that is automatic, hand-winding and hacking. This new mechanical movement has removed the need for a second crown at the two o'clock position. The diving bezel has also been upgraded to be 120 click for improved precision. These changes have definitely improved the utility of the Mako as a diver watch, all the while preserving the classic aesthetic that the Mako had become known for. Appropriate for skin diving only!
Thank you for showing us your work and for taking time to create your videos. thank you
I have a Kamasu, which I love. Bet I’m gonna do this, just because I know how. Double bubble crystal, here I come! Liked and watching more vids.
How did it go?
To release the stem, pull the stem into "Date change" position, and gently push on the button as shown with a pin. Impossible if the stem is in "Time change" position.
My date window frame fell off also. I should have done the crystal then. Thanks for the video.
How come it fell off? You dropped it or something?
Is there a gasket needed with the crystal? I see them for sale, but never see anyone use one or talk about one in tutorials.
The gasket is on the watch, you don’t need to replace it if it in good condition
Very nice!
what are the dimensions of the glass you used, specifically the thickness?
The diameter is 31 mm and 3.0 mm thickness will work
I realize I'm pretty randomly asking but does anybody know of a good place to stream new movies online ?
@@coltenxavier7601that is pretty random
Good job!
What is the price of this Watch?
Cool! Bro,please answer, does the bezel from SeikoSKX fit the Orient Mako1?
I don't know friend.
The bezel does not, but all of the SK bezel inserts fit the aftermarket bezels sold for Mako 2's & Ray 2's. So the bezel mid acts as an adapter of sorts and opens the door to a worlds of possibilities. Happy modding👍 edit: IDK about the gen 1 Mako, sorry
Would you please let us know the worth of this Watch???
Hi... material of the dial mako II please ??
That back seal could have done with grease on it .
I need a bunch of mods done on a blue Ray 2 ,you interested?
Did that hella fast
I just hit mine with a door handle and chip the glass, I fiel so nada and even having a screen protector it teacher the glass and mark a deep scratch because of the sligthly recess of the glass, also hit the bedel a bit, I was considering to chance the glass by myself, Great Great video.
What was the liquid to clean the glass though
Does changing the crystal affect water resistance?
it shouldn't
If the Crystal gasket is in bad shape or damaged in the process it can, some kits contain both the crystal and a new Gasket seal
What are the dimensions please? do I buy a 31mm crystal as it measures on the watch face or does it need to be bigger?
I ordered a 3.0mm thick and 31.0 wide but it did not fit, to loose. Thickness seems to be correct though. Ordered 31.5, hopefully that one will fit better.
Edit: measured the crystal I had and it is 30.5 not 31mm so I recieved wrong crystal
@@atlejohnnyrygg7124 then 31 mm and 3.0 mm thickness will be the right size, it is worth it to ordered sapphire or glass as it comes with the watch from the manufacturer
@@crashjose I got saphire on mine. Ordered a press and crystal on ebay. Wasn't too difficult. Replaced crystal on a cheap casio and a Timex first to get the hang on it.
