- Right (passenger side) rocker arm - no oil from block through cylinder head to rocker arm oil feed with rocker arms removes. Used electric drill with hex bit to operate oil pump without engine running.

And some of those engines had a cam cam type of timing oil in slot for the arms to be oiled. Like the old 265 Chevy how to slot in the rear of the camshaft. Some have a oil groove in a camshaft and if you don't line up the oil holes in the cam bearing you're not getting any oil to the rocker arms valvetrain
Rockers are oiling ok. The knocking sound is coming from lower in the block
I thought the 368 had that intermittent top end oiling where the cam spins and opens the passage or was that just the Yblock or am I completely wrong about all that ?? lol
Apparently that’s one cause. Another is plugged or partially restricted gunky oil passages. If I can clear a blockage, that’s a lot easier than pulling the cam. The engine has excellent compression and runs great with the rebuilt heads. Really don’t want to do the block $$$
@@Volterrific When the cam and bearing are in position to line up the oil passage does it feed both heads or just one?
@@2packs4sure cam bearing 2 for left side, cam bearing 4 for right side
@@Volterrific Oh boy,, ok,,, well good luck sir I've been a fan many years,,, since I saw you named as the owner of a 58' Lincoln in Collectable Automobile magazine..
P.S. Is hitting the passage with air pressure from the head side to potentially clear a possible obstruction out of the question?
@@2packs4sure I’m going to squirt a solvent in that hole and use my rubber tip air gun to try to back flush it. Do several of those then see what happens. If I get lucky with oil to the rocker arm, I’ll drain the oil/solvent and refill and do maybe 2 oil changes to remove the solvent. Fingers crossed!
Was that the same engine I heard that had the rod knock good prime two-engine you're in trouble you got a bearing problem like somebody dropped the bolt down the intake. Pull don't take it apart and see would damage has been done.
No bolt dropped down the intake. The knock is coming from lower in the engine.
