Hello again! Netherlands right? Ya it ended up being quite a fun evening. I hope to meet up with Justin again. His base is not too far away from where I live. Hope you are well :)
@@DanDoesKorea I can relate to that for getting around would be the easier thing. I can relate to when I used to live in small towns before the big cities in my early days in China. I had an interview with a Koren agency for hiring teachers. Kinda funny but he told me last night that he feels I be best suited in a smaller cities. Than he adds to say that there is just too much competition to get a job in Seoul for my sge of 44.So who knows ? But I am learning some things from your travels. Keep up the good work man !
Buyeo!! 11:23 Phew, you made it out just in time. 😧 Daejeon is where I hope I'm placed when I finally get to SK. It isn't too big, with a lot to do. 17:37 That text sounds so James. 😂 It was nice to meet his wife, Janine (sp) and Justin.
I found today your channel... and omg... this was the "bad" idea:D i had all plan on my next trip to Korea but you recommended sooo many good cities and places .. ehh yes i need to change my schedule now and add more:P:P
Hey Dan! You find all the interesting places to visit! thanks for the tour....I can't wait til I visit Korea! nice love story. Your drone view is out of this world!!!! Korea is a beautiful place; thanks for sharing some of those places with us! truly enjoyed this one!
Hey^^ You should definitely check out some of the sites around Buyeo when you visit. So so so much to see around there. And there is a really nice resort just outside the city for a nice place to stay :) I think it's a Lotte Resort.
@@DanDoesKorea that all depends on Angela! 😂 we’ll see where she takes us! But just to stay in gwanggyo and eat all the delicious food is good enough for me!
I just want to point out that Buyeo kingdom is definitely not a part of ancient Chinese history. Of course Goguryo and Baekje are not successors of a Chinese kingdom. They are ancient Korean kingdoms. Those are merely unilateral claims of Chinese insisting every East-Asian region is theirs. Other than that, I really enjoyed everything through this video, everything is super funny, homey and warm I feel.
I forget where I read that about the influence of the Chinese Buyeo on Baekje and Goruryo. Might have been Wikipedia. I guess I shouldn't believe everything I read on the Internet, haha.
Love the first clip 😂 glad you put me in the first couple seconds. I was a little drunk at that point but it only got worse . Not as much as you though 💀
Aloha Dan, good to see U. Wat an interesting place wife n I like wen u go off beaten paths. We use to watch Screening Humanity a lot, before they removed English CC. We were wondering if you might go to these locations and do some videos there? These areas of Korea are also very beautiful as well. Please would u give it some thought!! 😁 Ok my friend see u in ur next video, Mahalo Jess & Eve 🤙🏽🌄🤙🏽🤝🤙🏽
Aloha again!! Any places specifically? I'm unfamiliar with that channel, but I will check it out for sure. Working on the next video now. I went on a day motorcycle ride with two Korean guys, one of whom is quite a famous UA-camr. Hopefully that will be ready soon. Cheers!
Ehhhh, those were not "temples",,, those were ancestral shrines. They're not opened to public, they're open when their family to do the memorial ceremony. ^^ hehe
the hat at 5:06 was and is worn all over east and southeast Asia and the Korean name for that is “삿갓”. It was also a nickname for a famous nomad poet in Choseon Dynasty. (김삿갓) You definitely have traveled more than I did as a Korean😂 It’s amazing to find out about these beautiful places in Korea that I’ve never known! The cinematography is stunning as well, did you use drones to film the high angled footage? Looks awesome.
[Fact Check Correction] Ohhh no,,, [Buyeo] was not a chinese kingdom, it was a totally different group of people("Yemaek") gathered around to form a nation. Check out "Yemaek", people who are not chinese, in the Wikipedia and you will find the truth. I'm not saying Dan is wrong, he just looked up at Wikipedia and said so. There is a debate(battle) about BuYeo in the Wikipedia between chinese and Koreans. I believe Dan has read the wiki, when chinese changed it by their keyboard warriors. But as I mentioned before, chinese can't win this historical fact that the people of BuYeo was YeMeaks and YeMeaks are not chinese. If they ignore this fact, they're saying their Ancestors are from Mogolian, YeMeak.
Buyeo is a Koreanic kingdom, not Chinese. Only the location of it corresponds to modern-day Northeast China, which historically wasn't part of the Chinee Han heritage for thousands of years.
Buyeo is an ancient kingdom of Korea, so why does the video say it is an ancient kingdom of China? This is really wrong information. It would be better if you edit this part in the comment box and explain it.
I guess I misunderstood from the wikipedia article I read. It should say Buyeo is an ancient Proto-Koreanic kingdom which was located in modern-day northeast China. I'll put a note in the description :)
Thanks for the amazing content, literally addicted been binge watching all your videos.
Thank you so much! It's comments like this that keep me going, cheers!
SOunds so laid back "yeah, we just found some lone soldier so we are now a party of 4" 🤣
Seems to have been a blast of a road trip!

Interesting to learn about small towns and medium size cities from your videos.
I much prefer the smaller places. All the big cities seem more or less the same. So much more variety in the smaller towns in my humble opinion :)

I like that you pointed out for sure that the kid we saw at 3:28 was indeed not a duck😂 great video ~
Just wanted to make sure there was no confusion. I thought I would clarify for people haha ;)

Daejeon is nice, and lots of good hiking places just outside the city. You got the spelling right ;)
Man, super nostalgic.. wife and I lived and taught in middle schools in and around Buyeo. Loved that place. Thanks for bringing back the memories. 👍
I really liked Buyeo. I think I’ll be going back soon to check out more of the sites. Thanks for watching :)

True true. The drone shot is awesome.
always love your video and the dron shot was amazing~~~👍👍😍
Thanks :) I definitely went in the wrong time of year. I looked at pictures and some video of Seodong park in the summer, and it's amazing!

I used to stay in Daejeon! Great place! Hope all is well Dan the man!
I need to go back and check out some of those places I talked about. I didn't see much when I was there this last time, haha.
BBQ is always delicious!
It really is!
