    Magician reacts to Xulio Merino 2019 perform his amazing red sponge ball magic act for Penn and Teller on their show Penn & Teller Fool Us 2019. Xulio Merino is a Spanish Magician and Penn even calls him The Shin Lim of Sponge Ball magic. Xulio is doing funny magic, incorporating a lot of comedy elements into his magic tricks which is fun as well. This is Fool Us Season 6 2019 s06e07. What did you think about this insane sleight of hand? I personally think he is one of the best magicians I have seen.

    Thank you very much for commenting and sharing my performance.
    I'm glad you like my magic.
    Indeed the routine is a variation of the classic Roy Benson Bowl, and the Always 3. And as you say there are many ideas and techniques inspired by magic with coins and cups and balls routines.
    We are working on translating the book into English as soon as possible. And on October 20 I will release a new DVD where you can study the techniques I use and my reflections on the classic sponges.
    Thanks and I hope meet you soon ;-)

    As a spectator, I think the core of witnessing magic is supposed to be something beautiful and full of wonder. Magic, in a way, is supposed to take us back to when we were kids when the world was this wonderful place full of the impossible being possible. And in saying that, Xulio (as well as many others) takes us back to those moments. His act as the average, clumsy guy with a funny little problem was beautiful and fun to witness. In that moment, the impossible seemed possible. Penn & Teller were right for not trying to debunking it.

    This was an amazing performance. Fooling Penn and Teller with sponge ball magic would be right up there with fooling them with the 'cups and balls' or 'linking rings'. The sleight of hand in this was amazing as it had to be. I mean he was using the easiest magic prop there is to do that sort of thing with and they still couldn't figure it out and they know sleight of hand better than just about anyone. I think the fact he was using sponge balls actually helped. I've seen them bust some magicians doing absolutely amazing card sleight of hand simply because they know the moves. Nobody works that hard to do the same with sponge balls....except Xulio.

    Even Penn explained this “stuff” in a way only magic practitioners would understand. In fact he mentioned the word 5 times.

Was watching this episode from another channel mirroring Fool Us, that video ended-put my phone down for a sec as I was thinkin how good it was-picked my phone up again-and the first video I saw was THIS one(!), it looked interesting-I'm tired as hell, so wasn't really reading the title-thought maybe it was one of those magic "how they did it" kinda vids-but I liked Xulio so much, I jus WANTED to watch him again. To my surprise, I have now found one of THE BEST channels I've come across in YEARS! How COOL are you Jason? I loved watching THIS video, a lil bit MORE because of the way you did it. Pleasantly surprised to end my night with a smile, when I saw the WEALTH of videos that you made and KNOW I'm gona enjoy watchin each and every one of them! 👍😊

      Yes, exactly. And any craft. Cardistry. Magic. Juggling. Cake decorating. Brick laying. To watch someone make something (anything) look so effortless, when you know your own attempt would resemble that of a drunken monkey.

  • @ericwiedemann4697

    The way he disappears the single ball is easy to identify. he has a small retractable string in his coat pocket every time he fixes his sleeves he is actually resetting it on his thumb, look for the slight moving of his digits in his fist he is rolling up the sponge with the cord around it so it retracts into his sleeve well.

    Literally, the only thing I could see him do, was hide some sponges as he rolled up his sleeves. How the rest of his act worked, no idea. Loved it. Rather, I should say not inside his sleeves, but rather inside of the folds of his sleeves as he rolled them up.

    This finale gives away that the balls can be squashed really small (as most people know). Still can’t wrap my mind around the vanishing ball in one hand. Sick

    I really love acts where the magician "lose control" of his/her power (not just false reveal but this kind of excessive production ^^) and Xulio's sponge is tied with Mario Lopez's salt on my top

    Most of this was easy to follow because you know what has to be happening but especially with the ability to re-watch it over and over. However that first left hand vanish WTFK and what he did at 5:57 was incredible. I had to watch it a dozen time to make sure that I believed what I was seeing. Sooooo incredibly smooth.

    • @xQuantom

    • @01srob
      @01srob 2 роки тому

      C G I’ve watched it a dozen times and Im pretty sure he’s not dropping it. I think in the brief second he moved his hands past each other he transferred the ball from his left to right hand to make it appear. I see why you say he dropped it but to me it looked more like a transfer it was so incredibly smooth.

    • @xQuantom
      @xQuantom 2 роки тому

      @@01srob if you you slow it down to .25 speed you can see him drop it. He actually “throws” it kind of. It’s only 1 frame that shows the ball. And the one right before that he throws the ball into his right hand as he grabs his wand. That on is so fast it’s not in a frame and I’m only assuming he did so because you can’t see it it’s so fast

    Excellent routine ! So very different from what we usually see on FU. No one uses sponge balls for some reason, and much like the loathed “linking rings”, they get a bad rap. I really like sponge balls and after this, I love them ! I don’t care how he did it and don’t really want to know. This was magical and I Loved it ! Thanks for sharing ! 🎭
