Hello and thanks for watching! I thought Anna did a great job, and it was cool to use cardistry as some form of misdirection. What did you think?? Have you seen her before on UA-cam? I remember seeing her as a guest on Disturb Reality's channel doing some street magic, and I know she doesn't shy away from difficult magic! 👍
She's really good! Seen her with Ekaterina, Chris Ramsey etc. She's got decades to get better.
I thought it was very entertaining and it would have fooled me if you didn't have dropped hints. I've never heard of her before.
Jason Parker can post some of your videos ?
b Supreme what do you mean?
Game show rules sir, no preshow work. Amazing work and memory of at least 31 top cards.
Anna is amazing considering she been doing magic for 2 yrs and is already in front of Penn and Teller. It was also good to see cardistry on display on this show
I love to see young performers like Anna on this show. Their talent and motivation is always such an inspiration.
I love this guy when he makes a review. He is not trying to ruin the magic spell on us. And he repects magicians skills.
@Love it when they Call me Big Papa Uhhh... could you not?
She fooled me initially and agreed a great performer. Great confidence for her age.
AnnaD is a rising star in the world of Cardistry and Magic. It took real skill to pull off the cardistry moves on TV. Not only is she skillful but she has genuine talent. Good job Anna!
you're saying the same thing twice 'Skill is the product of talent!" It's not one and/or the other - it's one leads to another - Anna was nervous and conceited at the same time and it came across over-rehearsed and flat - her act would never get to Las Vegas or any big show - corporate & small gigs is about it
I suspect she intended for the 6 of hearts to land on HER deck too! With this in mind, she may have planned to take it a step further by having the same exact card revealed on Teller's deck at the finale. The first 31 cards from both decks were initially sorted, and she used a memory paradigm (along with a card force) to bring forth any card she wanted. Perhaps due to nerves, the card she was controlling didn't shuffle into her deck correctly - but she recovered nicely with some "patter". It would have been an awesome trick if the 24th card showed on BOTH decks!
I actually feel like she could have done the "mistake" and would have been fine, too. It's done a lot in many acts, where the performer pretends that a trick failed. She could have said something like "Oh this wasn't it? Oh you know what, Teller chose the wrong deck! It'll be the 24th card in his one!" or something, but it was still an impressive performance, especially if it is as difficult as I suspect it is
@@Mugsi Yeah that would've been cool, but she doesn't have that much experience on stage, but still she kinda kept cool
@@Mugsi yep agree. if she could do it over I’m sure that’s how she would do it.
Nah she knew where every single card was. She's a cardist. That was no mistake, just a gag.
@@gr8dane626 I disagree. She's a cardist doing a VERY difficult technique. I think her goal was to have the card show up on both decks, but since it didn't work out she already had the "patter" in mind to make it come across like a gag. There would be no point in doing all that show & tell with the other deck if it wasn't intended IMO.
I love how she fumbled a couple of times, but still kept on going. That requires nerves of steel
if she had nerves of steel . . . she wouldn't have fumbled
@@TAROTAI you try it
Jason, you do a great job and greatly enhance the show of Penn and Teller. Keep up the good work!
I like a saying I heard once; the house of magic has many rooms, this young lady certainly has found her room, amazing!
Dennis Barlotta that’s a cool saying! Thanks for sharing it :)
Hey Jason! Just want to say how much I enjoy your videos, your comments and perspectives and just your whole attitude. You do a great job and these are really fun to watch. Thanks!
Hey Scott I really appreciate that, thanks! :)
As a total non-magician, I honestly really appreciate the efforts made by the community to keep the secrets safe! Magic is an art where the wonder and mystery add to the performance. I started getting into watching these kinds of routines literally two weeks ago and through watching reaction videos, looking up terms that people drop (e.g. second deal, Mercury fold), and watching just beginner cardistry tutorials during these past two weeks, I've managed to pick up enough to figure some of the simpler parts of several routines. I've been avoiding the videos where they look at each frame and pixel to try to figure out tricks because I feel like that's unfair to the people who put so much effort into an art that combines sleight of hand, misdirection, and understanding of human psychology to impress. Much respect for not revealing, and I really enjoy seeing these performances from a magician's perspective! Thank you!
I agree. A big part of why i love magic is the wonderment of feeling like a kid and like anything is possible. I like being amazed by it.
Amazing especially when you take into acount that she has only practised for such a short period! You can really take it far in my opinion!
She has practiced MAGIC for a short while. But she is an expert at cardistry. And this trick is ALL about cardistry.
Shes a NATURAL, someone who taught him/herself!!
Memory and forcing a choice. Very nice trick and she was GOOD with those cards!
I love how much they love magic. The look on Tellers face when she’s doing her cardistry is awesome
Oh, I love this, because Anna was a student at the school I used to work at she would always do magic for me either in the elevator, or in the break rooms she later got the test with a friend of mine, who is a magician at the magic castle, and now seeing her on AGT and Penn and teller is amazing. And it’s also amazing that you’re critiquing her as a magician. Super great seeing people move up in their industry I use Siri for this so apologies if some of this doesn’t make sense.
Great Video Jason, your videos makes me happy :) KEEP IT UP
THANKS!! :)
Loved your reaction as usual! Definitely felt like something was missing when I watched it too cuz it seemed like she did the impossible (I refused to believe that the success to her trick was a simple force). So satisfied to find out that a part had been edited out but frustrating at the same time as we don't really get to watch the full act. Anyway, keep em reactions coming cuz we love em all !!!
hey thanks so much! And yeah, it's interesting to know they really do these things. It's not the first time I've seen it either...
Deva Subramaniam exactly lol all I saw was a simple force and 15 false shuffle and cuts faro cuts lol
"she has a very good memory" = she knew the 24th position in the deck was the 6 and "forced" that card on the choice :)
For sure, that's the only way to do it, but the question is how. We're they all false cuts and she's actually able to force any card on a riffle? I kind of doubt it. More likely she has some method of controlling any card from the starting position to a break... But either way she needs to be able to find any card in the deck (well, up to the first 31 given the selection method) and force it. Impressive stuff.
@@admthrawnuru I'll be honest I tried to follow it. Her first shuffle was a true shuffle. Then the second was a reverse of the first, putting back in it's original order. After that i got lost
She knew the number before she manipulated the deck. All she has to do is put the specific card in the ‘force position’ (and memorise 31 cards in order). Beautifully done though.
Yes. She memorized the card order (both decks have same order), then forced the card. Thats difficult enough to do, but thats all she did.
Only need to remember 31 cards, could be less to use encoding method like 2+4=6 to convert position to card value etc.
She's really good.. love her.. the way she runs the show gets me emotional 🥺 and her kinda being vulnerable adds to it.. beautiful ❤️
Her skill is amazing as she had the ability to force the 24th card in her deck which was the 6 of hearts snd she had memorized the positions of the first 31 cards in Tellers’s deck. Her cardistry is truly amazing.
I'm actually even more impressed with trick now. That's incredible. And then I was like, "Why didn't she memorize the entire deck then?" Of course, the possibilities were only 31.
This is probably the first time that knowing a trick made me more impressed.
Let’s not forget superb performances like that of hers also serve as a reminder that what actually DOES fool Penn & Teller must’ve been really, like REALLY, clever! Hats off to Anna for a wonderful personality and jaw-dropping dexterity with cards. 🎩👏🏻🥇
Thank you for respecting the magic. I'm glad you didn't tell me how it was done just like Penn didn't outright say. Yet she knew she had been found out. I'm also glad you caught your mistake and explained it. Kudos to you for that. I still don't know exactly how she did it so the magic is still real for me! Dammit.
I like your channel because you are fair - both in your assessments and in what you 'reveal'. An excellent companion piece to the episodes themselves. Keep it up!
I really enjoyed learning about a skilled magician. Anna did a great job and I know we will see more of her. I will look her up on UA-cam now. Thanks for reacting to her. I was hoping she would fool Penn and Teller, but I knew that they know so many tricks in the magician trade. Thanks for doing this one!
She had memorized the cards from the sequence 1 to 30 in both decks (which were obviously the same). Then when she asked for a date, given 24, she knew what card was positioned in place of card 24 in Teller's deck (which is 6 of hearts). All she had to do now was make sure that when they asked her to stop, she had to make it look like she spontaneously stopped at 6 of hearts.
"All she had to do"? .... Show me! Memorize the pack, I say the number and force it on me! ... I am waiting ....
@@szolanek she is really good
Naaa, 'All she has to do '... is, 🤔 hmmm
... to have 30 decks of cards each with the same card, and then.. and then...
.. you know already what happens 😉😛
1-31 ;-)
Okay Karen, I mean Kevin. it’s obvious there’s tricks involved. blah, blah, blah
Like you said at the end, ‘magic SHOULD just be enjoyed’, and from a non magician, don’t give too much of the beauty and mystique away for us non magician folk..
She is amazing! She has great stage presence and charm, and you don’t see many female magicians, so hats off to her, I hope she goes far with her career 👌
This is my first video watching you observe magic. Being a magician myself I was really fooled as well. Her trick was very impressive and very hard to do! The time and practice that she must have put in for that one trick is unbelievable and I enjoyed watching your reaction.
Hey Lenny thanks so much! Cool to meet another friendly magician :))

Her fan stop on a precise card was amazing.
It was amazing. I may be seeing things but I think if you watch in slow motion you can see it's jogged a bit. However if the trick works the way I think it does she didn't know which card it would be till she got the number shortly before. But I'm not a magician.
Well, I'm glad i rewatched this act on your channel for the second time, now I'm even more impressed. First time I was like "yeah, it was a force" but I forgot the part where Alison was choosing a number. Now I'm totally lost and I love it :D I'm a juggler and I had many opportunities to learn magic, but I figured that I will not perform it anyway so I wanna keep myself in the dark in order to be amazed, just like I am now. What a girl... I whish I was closer to 20... and living in New York ;P
Dziurawe Wodery She memorized them .
@@angelcano8868 Umm... so let's recap. She memorized the deck that was in tellers pocket. After that, Alison picks a number from 1 to 31. Number is 24, she recalls what is 24th card in Tellers deck and forces same card on Penn. That means both deck were in same order OR she had them both memorized, maybe partially since there is more cards in deck, than days in month. Now I know why this camera cut when she picks up the deck bothered Jason :) Also I don't know much about forcing, but isn't it hard to be able to force any card from the deck ? Even if she had it memorized, she know that it's 6 of hearts, and she knows where it is... she's counting while she riffles ?
@@chrisp9824 i get it now!
@@ASMRyouVEGANyet Which part tho ? :D What I said about the trick, rewatching it, learning magic or that girl ? Cool nick ;)
i agree .how could she not be nervous? amazing performance !
Love Anna. She is a marvelous cardist and magician and a joy to watch.
i was fooled too .. without any outside help i wouldt have figured it out and i suppose it means penn knows more about magic then me ... dang it .. i was afraid that might happen :D
That was a great technical execution and I am kinda jealous that I didn't start card magic in my earlier years for that exact same benefit of having a greater ability to memorize things various like deck arrangements because tricks with sophisticated pre-sets are just awesome and especially popular with tv magic personalities. and also they are much harder to pick apart since not many casual magicians are well versed in those methods of set up.
Very nice commentary. It’s nice to see someone (Jason) being supportive of another (Anna) in his or her profession.
That's a great analysis! Thanks for posting this.
Cardistry is so hard to do on stage that’s why very few people even attempt it.
I really had no idea how she did it, still not entirely sure. But her blank stare (extreme concentration) at 4:06 - 4:09 indicated to me that whatever she was doing required a lot of brain power... Great stuff.
Jason, I am totally blown away by the trick. maybe you and penn/teller are suggesting memorized deck magic - honestly don't know, and I remain in the dark.
decades of doing magic, but feel blown away by this kid. she is truly wonderful
Haha I saw how she force the 6 of heart and thank you for reminding us Jason that part and she was so sneaky so fast hiding in front of the camera!
I met her!!! She was a student at the Art Institute of Hollywood when I worked there and my Friend Scott was on her audition board for Magic Castle. Wow. So cool!!
She Looks like a Filipno
I have no idea what or how she did it. Even after Penn mentioned a force, even after he mentioned her great memory, after everything I still have no clue at all how she did that with a deck that was in Teller's pocket the whole time. Kudos to her, I'm completely baffled.
she aligned the same sequence in both decks, asked for a number, forced the selection to that number, controlled the card and then showed the other deck
This was sooo good, I had a tear my eye. lol.
I have no in depth knowledge of how this, or most any, kind of magic is done. I just enjoy watching it. And Anna was fun to watch and handles cards like I could only dream about doing.
Gypsy JR same, with the addition of this guy narrating and adding in his thoughts and other information. Actually his little edits breaking the video up, made me like him and the content a lot more since he’s so honest and just a beautiful soul.
She is so nice, and wow so skilled !!
both decks have the same order of cards. she stopped at card number 24 which happened to be 6 hearts
Wow so simple 😩
Both decks were originally set up the same. Her skill at cardistry, and her astounding memory, allowed her to pick the card to stop on that was indeed originally in the 24th position of both decks when she was to stop her flip pick.
The cardistry was a great misdirection in the effect of getting the 6H in the approximate location so that she could stop on it for the card pick. Brilliantly done, but these guys have pretty much seen and/or done it all. A person would have to come up with quite the original trick in hopes of fooling them. She is quite skilled, but still throwing together parts of multiple tricks that have been done before. She did quite well, but the way more experienced magicians saw what was happening at several steps and figured a great memory was in play to pull this off.
She even made an error that she had to correct.
Please review Richard Turner on Fool Us or better yet To Catch a Thief Episode 4.
My favourite Richard Turner performance is "The Cheat". It's so organic, small live audience of just a few people, it's the epitome of cool!
He was on fool us? Old magic fingers Turner! Off to watch that
I am not a magician, but I got the trick after watching the video 3 times and processing the information I got from you and Penn. Yes, you need to have a good memory on addition to handling the cards accordingly. Great job!👍
I almost want to ask (beg) that you share your discovery, but it wouldn’t be fair and would be the same as stealing your homework claiming it’s mine. 😉
But now, you have given me a challenge, so I am going to watch again and again until hopefully I figure it out. I’m going to introduce my 9 year old grandson to her videos, as well as Jason’s, and maybe he will teach me!
I like the way you share your reaction and thoughts about the performance. I don't feel a complete reveal is necessary so that the mystery behind the magic is exposed. I like the not knowing part. :)
Totally agree, as i dont want the magic of seeing these trick to fade away.. by knowing the secret of each trick “as a normal person not a magician “ i would rather to fee the magic every single time i watch the show over and over and over.
Fantastic, super confident performer/magician etc!
I imagine that she actually was attempting to place the 6 of hearts in the 24th position during the cardistry as well to have the card be 24th in both decks, but probably due to nerves ended up accidently placing it off by 1 or 2 so she fell back on the "that would have been cool right? But the real trick is ACTUALLY in Teller's deck!" But if the cardistry stuff worked then she gets that bonus effect of finding the card in both decks. Pretty cool routine.
Excellent review of a what might have been a sticky situation 👍
The trick was always about the other deck. She was using the first deck as a distraction.
I think it's quite likely.
The way she slammed the cards on the table and said 'done' might have been covering a mistake due to nerves.
She set up the trick in such a way that even if she made a mistake with the cardistry, she would still have a way of ending on a reveal, but she probably had a double reveal planned because that would have made it even better
Pretty sure I've seen comments somewhere in these Fool Us videos saying that the really good magicians always have one or two ways of ending any particular trick in case something goes wrong so to my mind that's a perfectly reasonable assumption.
You make a great point. If she wasn't doing that she should add it. I think she is definitely talented enough to do that.
Your commentary, Jason, on that video-cut that lost a bit of time, was eye-opening for me. You identified such an occurrence as probably done by the producers to leave out these moments that live audience would not notice, but give video viewers the chance to see the trick too easily. Thanks for that insight, because it makes sense and I feel now such editing is forgivable.
Hey glad you enjoyed that discussion! I was wondering if people would think I'm complaining too much... but I thought it's worth discussing.... and having an example to show it really does happen as well
I think that the editing is more than "forgivable" but is obligatory. We know there is no "magic" occurring, but a card trick, and sometimes a camera is located at just the wrong place, and shows a view that no human participant or watcher, would ever see, or at least ever be able to understand without slow motion. When a participating magician locates others on stage for the performance, they're not allowed to shift their chair, or standing location. In essence the editors have decided, I think appropriately, the a particular camera location is giving a view that would not be permitted if the performer would be locating the cameras.
Thanks Jason, great video.
I happen to watch a couple of her street magic vids yesterday - probably why this one popped up in my "Up Next" section. This girl does a GREAT job of entertaining and that alone these days is MAGIC !! You will always have the dis believers and people who feel their " intelligence " has been challenged! Just try to enjoy what they practice so hard to only achieve a brief moment of making others laugh & smile.
I tried to move your face and I closed UA-cam lmao. But i still watched it haha.
ThcRicc #916 me too tried sliding it 😂
😂 Lol
I thought he was an ad pop up.._ i couldnt find the x box to close it....
I want to say that both decks were identically ordered in the beginning. Her cardistry skills are just that good that she is able to stop on a given numbered card in the deck. In this case the 24th card. If you look close she stops at That card a slight bit before Penn said stop. That way no matter what as long as she got the first part right. She would get the right card in tellers deck. Hence the really good memory. Basically muscle memory of how to get to card 24.
@Malchik Blue true. But I think that is how she was able to get the one match up.
The fact she never touched the golden deck after giving it to teller meant there was only 1 way of doing it.
3:11 in HD you can see the "break" in the deck, where the 6 of hearts is. Amazing performance nonetheless!
Yes, and likely she had a shortlist of dates prepared. Had Alison mentioned a date she didn't expect she'd just performed some of that nice cardisty, taking a break whenever she's comfy, and then show Penn. Great show.
Just wanted to say love ur video's ✌️
Learning a trick in your first 2 years doing magic off of the internet that would fool 2 magic gods would be almost impossible. But she did very well.
She had a pinky break when she riffled through the cards. So she was going to stop at the 24th card no matter when Penn said stop. The two decks are identical. How she counted the cards that quick was probably in the footage they cut out. But she is a great performer none the less.
She never knew that the number would be 24 tho
@@kxp.1496 Thats why he said that he is curious how fast she counted, and that this was probadly cut off. But on the other hand, this would not work when she need to stop very early on the deck like if allison think of someone born at the first of ...

Anthony Ruiz following the dark path and down the dark hole. 8hrs...
It's amazing how she learnt all that in just two years
Whoa! What's even more amazing and unbelievable than the card trick was that this dude literally went forward in time starting like exactly @ 8:57! And what is also even more incredible then that is that I really don't even see anyone in here talking about how this dude can time travel like nothing and at will too. Wow, definitely earned a sub out of me.
I just discovered Anna Deguzman and her skill called Cardistry. What a fascinating young lady. I hope she appears in Pittsburgh (PA) as I would love to take my grandson and granddaughter to her shows.
This was a great performance and I enjoyed Jason Parker giving his professional take on her moves.
P. S. I totally understand why they removed certain hand moves and respect the reasoning.
So i think it is okay for them to leave out a scene where it would be able to see exactly how a act did the trick because the show is not to show everyone how the act did it (in this case pen and teller wouldn't need to talk in mysteries) but to look if pen and teller are able to see trough the missdirection and see how it was done. So we kind a have the same chances to not watch the keypart again and again as you couldn't if you where there
But i think she did a great job and even if she did something that could give away the trick in the cut i'd bet most people wouldn't be able to see it while she was performing
I'm going to learn magic!
Nice to see her preform ACAAN flawlessly. Props
Your on POINT .... agreed on everything on what you commented on the whole video. And kudos for you to apologized and correcting yourself. I have noticed it, how on TV the producer or the cameras play along with the magician to make the magic more presentable). Like in Fool and Teller, and just like in AGT, sometimes you don't get to see some shuffling or camera showing something to the TV's audience as a mis-direction.... and that shrunk of missing piece can reveal, or give additional information to reveal the magic. As for Anna, at that age, is super impressive to see someone achieve that level on self-taught. Her manipulation with card is extraordinary / sensational..
She's really good! She did the worm nicely.... Some of these moves i would associate to the Jerry Cestowski book 'Encyclopedia of Playing Card Flourishes'... But some are very original.... Bravo!!!
13:52 - Thank you, Doug Henning. 😄
Only two years into magic/cardistry and she has that level of confidence, she has a very bright future ahead of her.
5 years of cardistry
1) Good job on the editing (and I mean your hard work on this video)
2) I have to agree with their edit choice, they have a lot of responsibility which many are not aware of.
3) Your REACTS video is one of the most pleasant to watch.
Anna DeGuzman: "Are you familiar with cardistry?"
Penn & Teller:
It's like asking your surgeon, "Do you know what a scalpel is" Adorable!
I do think she was saying it more for the audience's benefit than theirs. Lots of magicians have done stuff like that on their show.
Michael Heliotis s
@@SavageGreywolf Yea based on the way she projects the answer past Penn and Teller, I think that's fair to say.
@@kelrosales8955 I mean to be fair penn and teller never do cardistry. I remember a magician saying that taught penn some cardistry and it was the first time he attempted to learn some
Loved this video! First initial reaction watching this trick I thought .. She did the impossible. It made sense after you noted that there was a part edited out.. How did u find this? It went so fast.. I would never have known or found out on my own. I would have like to have seen the full act so i could have seen what was happening. Anyways great video! And no I have never seen or heard of her before! This was the first time.
Nice reaction:) For me; I just love beeing fooled by crazy good card-magicians! They allways blow me away, and that is the fun of it. Right?
At the same time, I'm a kind of guy that like to dig deeper into alot of stuff. But when it comes to 'magic' tricks or wathever, I ust love to be there, see it with my own eyes, enjoy it and be amazed by all those tallented magicions out there:) It is such a nice releafe in life, for like a minute or less. It makes you think and forget about other things for a while:) It's a an escape from reallity, and we ALL need that once in a while.
Big hugs and thumbs up from a painter in Norway:)
My thoughts after watching this video the first time:
Anna has already an algorithm for the 31 days of ordering the cards in the golden card box. For example, 20 (2 + 0) = two of hearts, 21 (2 + 1) = three of hearts, 22 (2 + 2) = four of hearts, 23 (2 + 3) = five of hearts, 24 (2 + 4) = six of hearts, ..., 1 (0 + 1) = ace of diamonds, 2 (0 + 2) = two of diamonds, ..., 11 (1 + 1) = two of clubs, etc. So, Anna only needs to remember the algorithm.
Anna shuffles the cards at 6:40. So, the viewers can't see or can't find out her algorithm of ordering the cards.
I have to say, Anna did a brilliant job on fooling us.
The trick is when Penn says "stop", she had already riffled to and slowed down to the 24th card Allison selected and stopped on the card she wanted not the card Penn wanted. Both Decks were ordered the same at the start. Therefore she knows for a fact the 6 was in the gold deck at the 24th position. Super simple with card memorization. You're welcome.
Adam Weber. Wenn you have an algorithm you don't need to memorize the ordering of the cards. You can calculate the position of the cards.
yeah, that would be really cool. No memory is required if you can count how many cards have gone past, but either way works, really.
I stopped the video at 8:52 so haven't watched Penn and Teller's response yet but I think its pretty obvious to me how the trick was done. She had the position of every card in both decks memorized so when the date was given she knew what card was in that position in the deck in Teller's pocket. Since there are only 31 possible days in the month she made sure that card was somewhere in the middle of her deck to make the forced card less obvious. To do this she had the cards prearranged such that the cards in position 32-52 in Teller's deck were about half in front and half towards the back of her deck since these numbers could not be chosen (it would be impossible to force a card if it was the very first or last card in the deck). Since she had the order memorized in her deck as well she knew where to stop when rifling through the deck. At that point the trick was done all the rest was just a distraction. It would have been even more amazing if she shuffled her deck first and still know exactly where the chosen card was. In any case forcing the card without looking at the deck and knowing exactly where to stop must be incredibly hard!!
Oh one more thing, the trick could work if either deck was chosen by Teller, of course the cards could not be arranged in the same order in both decks for it to work.
@@brianbevel6499 I think that would be way too risky on national TV. She was prepared for any date from 1-31, not really that hard to memorize the deck sequence especially if she had some ordering system. The harder part of the trick was forcing the card without even looking at the deck.
She's great. I really hope she continues to do magic. Imagine what she can be doing in 10 years from now.
She was so stressed! But really nice, as always :)
The one she did in AGT FINALS MAGIC ACT 2023....THATS INCREDIBLE AND IT CAN FOOL MAGICIANS...👍👋💪🏆
I hope she keeps pursuing this. That's a very nice job and she's only 20? I look forward to seeing her in the future.
I look forward to seeing her...
@@dgreatll haha, i thought the same
1:30am and watching this, from Philippines!
1:30 am here in CA lol
Absolutely awesome
And she's only 20? OMG, what a future! Good Luck! Anna
The magic happens a 3:12 this is where she forces card #24 at Penn calling "stop". and how that is done, I have no idea. But she clearly knows that card #24 in Teller's deck is the six of hearts and so has to stop on that card.
right before that, was the cut edit he was talking about, where the deck was on the table then in her hands completing the cut. The force setup must have happened in that time
Both decks are identical and she memorized the order of both. It doesn't matter what card they stopped on. That's why Penn said you have a really great memory and asked if she knew what he meant. All the cardistry was exactly that she never changed the order of the cards before the count she just made it look like it. Incredibly talented young lady
@@kstig2672 I think it does matter because Teller's deck is never touched. So she has to force the 6 of hearts one way or the other. If for example she stopped on card #10 in her deck, that card would not match card #24 in Teller's deck. She has to force the six of hearts for the trick to work.
@@kevinatkab5219 No. It could be done with #10 as well.
@@kilroy1964 but the host specifically gave the number as 24, how would 10 work?
Damn Jason..you look like Ivan Perisic, croatian football player😂
Could been better he could've looked like Luka Modric instead.
Ok after thinking about the clues that were given and I got it. That was a great trick and what she was able to do would have taken a looot of practice and a great memory. I understand why they cut out the piece but it would have been interesting to see her do that part. I would love to see it in person just to see if I could catch it. Again awesome and like you I would like to see her stuff more.
That was so great. Anna “
I thought she was tremendous.
Cardistry meets magic has a bright future imo.
She obviously practices a lot. I thought her personality and presentation were really entertaining.
20??? Wow keep going!
I'd pay to see her perform.
Actually from getting your audience to suspend disbelief performing cardistry and magic together kills the magic.
If you see someone pulling of lots of fancy flourishes and shuffles then they find your card the lay audience will just think well they can do lots of fancy shuffles, so they probably just did that.
If you can at least partially suspend your audiences disbelief by making it appear that you didn't use sleights it comes across as being more magical.
Magic is effectively the art of doing something whilst making it look like you are doing nothing, if you look like you are doing a whole lot of something then it does just become juggling.
It's hard to fool Penn and Teller. They are great magicians...
It’s very hard to foll them
Amazing show, vary talented... wow...
Anna is brilliant to remain cool doing that kind of card gymnastics
I think she knew by which number the card was in her deck what number it would be in the other deck. She chose to show the 6 heart based on the # 24. She could have also pulled it from the deck she was shuffling. Just my guess. Love watching people who have exceptional skill...at anything 😁
This is a great guess. She does have to memorize every single placement of the first 31 cards in the other deck. What a memory, and then to get the card from the deck is is shuffling, and with style. Wow.
She essentially knew ("great memory") the order of the gold deck, so when Alyson picked 24, she knew she needed Penn to "pick" the 6 of Hearts as this was in position 24 in the gold deck. As she's shuffling the deck and rifling through it for Penn, you can see that there's a slight gap before the card, making it easier for her to stop on exactly the right card.
U perfectly...revieled....that what penn said about memory
Finally ...someone revealed the trick. Nice post...I beilieve you are 100% correct.
Wow! U revealed it. But maybe some of viewers don't care. We just love to enjoy the show.
When Penn actually said stop in slow motion, the card was 7 spades but she continued to stop 6 hearts. But how she position 6 in deck is amazing.
I don't actually think great memory plays a part on that trick. Because if that suggest that Anna knows all the position or order of the card in the golden deck, then you don't need to memorize a lot. In fact it is as simple as arranging the card from 1 to 13 (Ace to King). Then to know what card is in a certain position, you just simple divide it by 4. The remainder will then represent which type of card (Example: 0 for heart, 1 for spade, 2 for clubs and 3 for diamond). Hence 24 divided by 4 equals to 6 of heart. That is why she shuffle the 23 cards in the table because it contains all suits of 1 to 5 and the other 6's.
I have trouble doing card tricks. But watching this show, I seem to remember Alison having trouble just shuffling cards. And as her time on the evolved, I saw her do an in hand riffle and bridge…. After seeing that, I HAD to learn how to do it. And I have. I love doing it to see the looks on peoples faces.
