    I have worked on jukeboxes that were mechanical in keeping many instructions as what songs to play. No where near as complicated as an elevator controller. There are similar instructions for the elevator to operate such as what floor to go to then open and close the doors. The juke box goes to the next song and plays the front or the back of the record. Interesting comparison.

      @@309lincoln sadly all replaced with modern processors now, there will come a time when the people fixing them won’t understand that the logic was simply a copy of a mechanical setup so it will be difficult to understand the new stuff without knowing the old

    I’ve never seen gearless lift motors encased in a box like that before!

      I have seen a few installations where the machines were behind steel grated enclosures over the driven sheave. This set up is very practical for safety. And easy access for serving.

      @@TheTheo58 Yes I’ve seen them over the drive sheaves only quite often but not the entire machine

      @@musiclabmn often the guarding makes it impossible to inspect and service. These are also live to ground now being fed via Auto transformers and SCR’s as opposed to when they were floating with a ward leonard drive
