Besides, it looked to me like NZ were on the back foot for the better part of the match, Ireland applied immense pressure and NZ ultimately buckled as they have so often done recently.

Interesting. I was going to comment that the New Zealand fans on the stadium don't come off well here. A lot of booking of kicks, and cheering of yellow cards.

@@Irish780 he knows how to get under people’s skin on the pitch, but seems a good bloke off it. A real Munster bear cut from the same cloth as O’Connell and Axel Foley.
As for Wasps, finances have been mismanaged for quite a few years now… we’ve let a lot of top players go due to lack of cash 🤷🏻♂️

So we might’ve beaten the mighty all blacks, but it took one of your own to do it! Proud as an Irishman but will forever cheer on the ABs for being the standard of quality, etiquette and blueprint of beautiful rugby that every nation strides to replicate! Will always support the kiwis! (Except against Ireland of course 😉)

Just kidding. They're looking great, beautiful distribution of the ball. Ireland seems to have moved away from their traditional, slow, methodical crunch play into something a bit more suited to their dynamic backline.

Superb and gutsy win by an Irish team high on determination, self belief and skill. The All Blacks simply not up to the challenge in the second half, looking scared and clueless in all honesty. Thought they would at least put up a fight regardless of being a man down. Still have a chance to take the series but Ireland fully deserve to win. Pretty obvious they own the All Blacks these days, home and away.

As an ABs fan it’s pretty hard to see where NZ are aiming tactically right now. Great shift from Ireland who played with an awesome skill set.

@@topgunsam Granted the All Blacks have a significant advantage with the number of Pacific Island players they have and yes we would be a lesser team without them. But its hardly poaching considering that a significant majority of those that have played were born in New Zealand and most of the others moving to NZ at school age.

Congratulations to the Irish fans on here, you towelled us up beautifully and we’re by far the better team, no complaints here, you deserved the win.
By far the better team my asce, ye we’re well beaten. The officials finally stepped up and put a solid marker in off the ball tackling, high tackling, messing in the maul’s, offside play etc.
Now if the Irish ☘️ had put away a couple of open chances in the first half, it would have been a 40 point score line !
Looking forward to the remaining two matches as long as the officials do their jobs …. Play hard, but play fairly lad’s !!! 😎

@@peterstaples1 I'd say you're spot on then. Watched many a game with nz in it and they've never had a problem giving away penalties in the final 5m area because they've never received cards for it, now a ref took them on at this setup and they crying about having less players on the field.

This is a great rivalry now. The New Zealand fans are always so gracious in defeat in my experience and don't make excuses which must be part of why they remain the standard bearers for international rugby.
