I love it that kids have opportunities for different lifestyles. Instead of getting crew do what you often do, team up with other boats. I love the boating community that you have. I hope the week is a good one =-) take care.
In my 21-foot travel trailer (caravan), I carry two of those 1000 watt Jackery remote batteries. Here in the Pacific Northwest of the USA, we enjoy just gobs of luscious evergreen trees, but that means our caravans are parked in the shade. My trailer has a solar panel on the roof, but doesn't do me much good in the shade. Hence the Jackery batteries. I love them. I don't go camping in the winter, so I store the Jackery batteries for 5-6 months and even at the end of that time, they are still fully charged, ready to rock and roll. I've tried two other brands ... tossed both in the recycle bin. Love the canal videos, absolutely wonderful. Thank you.

What a life in the Pub till late, then a really late start you'd think you were a Pirate with nothing to do but spend the day pillaging but no you meet up with a real star. Yes Ruby is her name and now sh'e's a Pirate too ! What a lovely example of the boating community helping each other. the world would be a better place if everyone was like Heidi and the boating fraternity. We have a coffee shop in town where a bunch of motor cycle fiends congregate and they all leave about 11pm and wake up half the town GRRRRRRRRRRRRR.Chilly here now rarely gets above freezing during the dayand-7 or 9c overnight ,luckily very little snow yet but I have started wearing the Stanfield's (thermal underwear Great vlog me little darlin so stay warm happy cruising luvz ya lots XXX

After my catchup of your vids, I was looking forward to todays video and getting your new adventure. One thing I haven’t noticed on all the videos and on any of the boats is any wind turbines. We have more wind than sun in this country so I would have thought boats would have a small wind turbine on a pole, especially when moored up or on the front when moving. Extra charge to keep things topped up. I have seen wind turbines advertised for use on boats before. Is there a reason there’re not popular?
Yeah they are totally crap 😂 they work well on a boat in a harbour and out on the coast but absolutely no use on the inland waterways as too many trees plus they strap to the boat and are very very noisy … my friend has one on his sea boat but it’s only enough to keep his starter battery topped up
Love today's video! Seems like the narrowboaters have kind of a "village" attitude where you are all neighbors and help each other out when you can. Ruby is a sweet girl Pirate and seems to be loving the life. I can see where she will be an adventurous person when she gets to adulthood. You heard the call of the life and took it up. I bet she will find something that calls her name and be one with that. So I noticed you are using a Jackery 1000. I think I saw an earlier video where you had a smaller one, so do you have 2? I live in house but I have a Jackery 160 and a 240 and they are total lifesavers. We have had power outages where I live a number of times and it has been wonderful to be able keep small devices charged. I look forward to cruising with you next week. Wow, November already?! The year has flown by... (Or floated by ! 🤣 ) Love all your videos, the scenes & the new friends along the way! We live on a small, mostly calm river in Kentucky USA - & we used to love locking through to different pools, but the Army Corp of Engineers filled them in since river commerce is dead & recreation is not really that much-most go to the lakes to ski & fish, in go-fast boats. So we don't get on the water much anymore but the water & cliffs, plus all the critters sure are lovely. Bless you Heidi! 🏴☠️🦜

It’s expensive here too … diesel and coal has doubled … lots of boaters are struggling this winter as no government help like you get in a house 😩

It all depends … I can’t go fast on canals as I’m very deep and the canals are very shallow … on a nice deep river I can probably go about 6mph 😄🏴☠️
