Maaaan !!! ...I follow a bunch of EUC guys, channels... and I must say , You are - in my eyes - a man from another planet. So as I feel myself almost all the time. I like your passion in your comments and ways how you look at all this.. Thumbs up ! ...I appreciate what you do !
Fu**!!! Absolute Amazing! I started riding EUC end of May this Year. Till now about 1.700 km. But even not a single Meter in reverse! It seems my brain isn’t in the right condition to understand what it needs to ride backwards. But I’ll keep on trying 👍
you are right about the fact that it can made you a better rider, it add a great amount of balance and controls in the riding technic, at a stop light you won't even put a feet down you can just balance yourself back and forward then the light turn green you go !! Nice video Chooch and good simple title.
first time I've heard someone recommend twisting into the reverse position and keeping your previous momentum going, that makes so much more sense to me given that's how I used to start reverse rollerblading as a kid. looking fwd to trying it out, thx
Great call! Learn three skills on a familiar grass lawn: Ride forwards. Ride backwards. And twist-turn (as opposed to the tilt turn)-- twist to swivel ~30 degrees, build up to 90 degrees, and keep working up to 180 degrees. Then chain the three: forward, twist, backward. Then you're also limber enough to look behind you!
I’d say it’s an essential skill for any pro rider. I ride everything and for some reason, backwards EUC was crazy tough, took me like 3 hours to really get a good level of proficiency (transition from forward, tight turns, slow game, etc.) I find it handy in town waiting for lights, I just rock back and forth, never put my feet down.
Chooch I don’t usually say this a lot but your a legend and a cool dude! You know how to rock it man 🤙 I swear you’ve probably got more new riders coming into the EUC community scene… I applaud you
Ha. I think id better try harder...so i can ride past someone and say hello and wave..then reverse back past say olleh and do wave in reverse then go forward and say hello and wave in exact same way. Ha ha ha. Thats gonna take some practace.
I can go backwards a few hundred feet, but my problem is going forward to backwards without putting my feet down. Going back and forth is really hard for me.
Yeahp, it's the transitions from forward to back and back to forward that has me off every time. Well I can do it some of the time, in the kitchen on a Ninebot One E+ :-)
Trying to learn how to ride backwards. I start from the back of my minivan and then ride backwards to the front; and keep repeating over and over and over again. The last time, I was able to start from the back of my minivan and ride up the sidewalk backwards, maybe 30-feet. I tell myself just relax and ride backwards with minimum input; like I ride forward; better said then done. It’s like you gotta keep doing it over and over and over again, and just wait for your body to figure it out. It sucks I cannot just tell my body what to do; it has to figure it out on it’s own. It’s like there’s a part of your brain that is figuring out how to ride backwards; but you can’t communicate with that part of the brain; only thing you can do is keep providing that opportunity for the brain to figure it out; I guess I should give that part of my brain a name, but then I’ll be talking to myself and calling myself an idiot for taking so long to figure it out. When I first got on an ECu, i told myself there’ll be no fking way I’ll be able to ride this to the store and back 😂 but now I’m riding to the store … now I”m thinking, there’ll be no fking way I could ride backwards to the store … 😂
After 4 1/2 years gliding on these devices, I still can't go reverse for more than a couple seconds. Oddly enough, riding one legged in reverse is easier. 🤷♂️ Thing is, my early wheels either fell apart or got stolen so what I have now is a Nik+ and a Sherman. I don't want to learn on either, but something smaller and more nimble. Oh well, maybe after the S20 Eagle. 😏
@@deadbluesky Really? It seems much harder to learn on than a Tesla. I learned on an IPS Lhotz wheel that was the size of the Mten. I would think those smaller wheels would be better to learn on.
@@meuconmyeuc1337 probably better on smaller wheel, but i never had a smaller wheel than 17'' and the Nik+ is well for me very light and easy to move around vs my RS19, EXN or Sherman... i ride for only 3 years and the Nik was the best choice and the S20 is bigger and the weight is 77lbs so not the best for that... But the S20 is my next wheel for sure
Hi Chooch i want to buy a gotway monster pro 24" for going to my job everyday in spain (55km) 110 km in total per day what do you think about it ? I've never been on a euc before
If youre tall and heavy, i guess the monster is ok for you.. if youre smaller size.. its not the best choice for a First wheel..... but it all depends on how determined you are for to learn it.
@@rastapocket35 ok.. both wheels are good... it would be a good option if it was possible to see them up close, before you buy, for to feel which one u like most.... (why you need to go 40mph?.. its too much for a new rider)

Chooch! I have a question that has plagued me since the beginning of time. How come you ride with your kneepads on the outside of your pants, coming from a motocross background? Higher visibility? More comfortable fit? New EUC esthetic? I have no scientific way of proving this, but I think 93.5 percent of new EUC riders do it because you do.
