I literally counted and got like 35 "backwards". This was a great video, I am excited about trying out all the ideas this coming spring! Thank you, I hope you will be back in the USA someday, I would be thrilled to meet you as your friendly and brilliant and talent filled videos were instrumental in getting me on my wheels at 53 years old, and doing it without serious injury 🤕 😁
Ok that’s a lot of “Backwards” 😂 go for it! I will for sure visit the US again, actually can’t wait for it! Thanks for your warm comment and ride safe!!!
Great pointers! Love your chanel man. Your the first person I saw that made me know I could go "up" stairs!? Lol. When I used to teach backwards on the regular uni we did a lot of the same drills with the wall etc. I did tell people that it takes the same amount of time to learn backwards as it did to learn to ride.
The gear suggestion is a good one. I think perhaps my second worst crash ever was learning backward and I was not even going that fast. It can be difficult, at least on a larger, powerful wheel not to go too fast. Slow learner here, but as long as there is progress, it is rewarding.
That was about 2.6 BPMs -- "Backwards's Per Minute," or 35 total. Also, I LOVED how you reversed the classic 'white helmet cornering clip' in the intro. That made me giggle.
Also, I will emphasize to what Adam said. Riding backwards on my Nikola AR+ feels really different than other wheels. That pedal dip feels really weird and can catch you off guard.
Thinking of selling my other euc, maybe this would be a decent replacement? I want to learn riding backwards, not to ride backwards but to do pendulum and for maneuvering around. And the portability is nice too (tho I do want s22 for a while now)
How long (and any falls) did it take you to learn to ride backwards, and how much time had you been riding before you started to learn? Some of the youtubers have made series of videos learning to ride backwards (not how to ride, but just showing their slow rate of progress) and it took them 2 to 4 weeks, a few had occasional falls. It is tempting, but I'm an old guy, so probably not worth the risk of a fall. For the twisting motion, if not tilting the EUC, then twisting arms right will twist EUC left and vice versa. Going forwards, flail left to turn right and vice versa for balance and direction. For backwards, it's flail left to turn left, which could take a while to learn since it's the opposite of forwards that seemed natural to me. For forwards, I was able to do laps around a tennis court at slow speed on my first attempt using the twisting method. (I then found my V8F became stable at around 10 kph, where I no longer had to make balance corrections, relaxed my arms and learned to turn by tilting the EUC inwards).
I can finally ride backwards, yea🎉🎉 what’s cooler is riding backwards down a small grass slope … need a video about how to ride with one foot on the opposite side of the pedal. 😮
Some of us do not live on a ground floor or have an elevator and have a very difficult time getting our wheel up and down the stairs. Could you do a tutorial on the various ways to do that. Ramps, walking it up and back down; etc. Maybe not dropping it or using a crane or riding it down. Might be a bit cramped for space to do that.
If you got a large wheel then I suggest you try using the trolley handle in powered mode, that should help you both ways. Smaller wheels you just have to carry, but then they are smaller.
I don't know how heavy your wheel is but I have a V11 which is around 30kg (66lbs). I put one hand under a folded pedal hanger, and one hand on the handle and lift to about waist height. I've found that to be ok for a few flights of stairs and helps me catch my train when I can't wait for the elevator.
I want to be able to do it because its possible, and because its useful to be able to do so. Impress my friends - no, no wouldn't be that :-) Not at the first try please, not at the hundredth and still struggling. I learnt (well I can do it) on the Ninebot One E+, on my Master is another story. I learnt with the kitchen cooker on one side and a chair on the other, it was the transitions f to b. b to forward that did me in, took ages (the zero point as you say). Tarzan has made a deal with the Devil, the only explanation :-) Inclines - I'll pretend I didn't see that :-) Seriously a good video, a challenging skill but worth the effort. Now then, could you film that again on the V13 :-) (Don't answer that, you probably could)
Does the euc roll backwards by its self when feet not on the pedals with euc on. Im new and mine starts goes backwards slowly by itself is my setting messed up? Please help if possible ❤
@@electricunipsycho agreed. Keep trying, but not all at once. Often if it is not clicking you get into bad habits due to tireness, frustration etc and continuing just reinforces those mistakes. So have a break and try again another time when you are fresh. Then one day it will click and you will wonder why you couldn't get it before. Some click quicker than others but most get it eventually.
Riding backwards doesn't seem the be as big a problem as switch direction. Something about stopping causes me to lose balance before I can get the tire going the other way.
I can ride backwards with a bit effort but what is really difficult to me is to do the pendulum without a wall (that’s cool when you need to wait for your green light without step down). Is there any advice you can give me for that? 3:20
@@deejeh9494 thanks! I try that but I lost balance when switching from forward to backwards. In fact I can go backwards only if I start going backwards. I’m not able to change direction 😩 I ride a KS 14D, by the way.
@Wrong Way! Why haven't we've seen any review from you regarding the InMotion V13, I have seen countless reviewers posting videos on their reviews on their units, except yours? What is the hold up?
@@mr_wrongway If I'm not mistaken and from the looks of it, both you and chooch have been targeted by InMotion not to receive this units to demo, just because you guys really tests units out hard and this is what chooch has been saying. I think its pretty unfair to be in this kind of situation after making reviews of several units of theirs in the past. I hope you guys can get your wheels sorted out @Wrong Way!
The reverse intro was a nice touch xD
Bro why you teaching us to ride the wroooong waaaay? 😂

Cheers! Good luck with riding backwards :)
Welcome 🤗 to van life !
Go , stay, wherever you want to !
Dude! You should be a professor as you explained it so well! Thanks for sharing and the very best of luck!
Your channel has finally earned its name
EUC's are awesome tool to record smooth videos, didn't notice until you mention Serge going backward
Thanks for the links and the chance to brush up on my french. Especially the Inmotion France/ New Walkings link.
Gotta love google listening. Been saying I want to learn to pendulum lately and now here we are.
Thx so much!!
Finally, I'm able to ride backwards!🎉
Still a lot to learn but your video helped me a lot!! 😘

Huge challenging. Big thanks from Korea.
love the backwards intro 😁😁😁
😊😁
This was released at the most perfect time! Also can’t wait for your crazy angled, pedal-scrape spin tutorial 🤩
Cool! I might need to do a EUC - trick video again ;)
If you use a bicycle helmet mirror (and you are acclimated to it, and it is adjusted properly) it works wonders for riding EUC backwards.
Postanowiłem że w tym roku nauczę się jeździć do tyłu🙂💪 do przodu poszło mi szybciej niż myślałem, wiem że do tyłu nie będzie tak lekko…😅
Good to see you old friend.
I'm so glad your back in your high vibration.
Always nice to feel free watching your material.
Thank you!!!!

Awesome tips... im going to have to get a smaller wheel and try this inside... its too cold here XD
I was trying to learn this the previous summer. Still a loooong waaaay to go. 😅
Love Serge's camera work. His Drive Pro vids are good as well but Google translate make a real hash of the translation.
Excellent.

It’s very entertaining but I won’t do that much, that too cover is just too fragile and the motherboard is right underneath!

GREEEEAT job on that intro man, you really have the eye hahaha Let's gooo!!!

3:25 I wobble and F up if I try to go back and forth! How are you able to do that? I can only do it for a moment or two.
Think the biggest tip to take here is apply pressure on heals, makes sense.

It’s a big wheel to get the balance tight! It tips over so easily too!
Keep trying and youl get there. I can ride the Sherman s backwards on 1 foot and I haven't spent that much time on it
