- A Ukrainian citizen confronted Russian soldiers after their armoured vehicle broke down on a country road in the Sumy region, close to the border with Russia.

Those Russian soldiers seem nice. Could you imagine saying this to the Taliban or US soldiers in Iraq?
They don’t seem nice when they’re killing civilians, bombing houses, schools and hospitals.
This is a strong reminder that not every soldier in a war wants the violence, loss of life and horror it brings. They just follow orders which is heartbreaking.
He doesn't want violence but he follows orders blindly even if they require violence.

@@marcoscastrillo8298 what about the dozens of videos of russian soldiers not shooting even when they could? people climbing on tanks, etc.? there could be many reasons why the car was run over. the driver could have just been a psycho, technical issues, fallen asleep, we don't know. don't get me started on the fact that the missile hit the apartment building. it could have just been misdirected. it could have been. i don't know. all i'm saying is that the collateral damage is surprisingly small for how recklessly the russians are portrayed in the western media at least from what I've seen on YT so far.

This made me re-recognized that a war is a chaotic combination of their usual and unusual life for people concerned.

The truth is the US and NATO have been launching missile tests and military drills in Ukraine very close to Russia's boarder to the point it is considered a very valid national security issue for over a year with no resolution. After we flexed our muscles and provoked Russia into invading, we left the Ukrainian people to suffer because they are not part of NATO and we are not obligated to assist.

@@liamg1706 I never said it spoke for the whole army, yes some soldiers want to take ukraine and will do anything to do so, because they are toxic patriots. But the majority of soldiers and people from Russia don't want a war, and that soldier proves it.
like 80% of russian army IS NOT MOTIVATED and dont want to fight. trhats why this conflict is so slow and has many staganacy moments. they refuse to finish orders and thats why putin askedchechens to do the job

I live in Belarus, the city of Mozyr. And I personally saw how these same soldiers of the Russian Federation begin the artillery launch of thousands of cruise missiles towards Ukraine. Then they began to take off and have been flying for 3 days all night and during the day even towards Kiev, through the former Chernobyl nuclear power plant. I live in Belarus here where their military base is and I see all the Russian aviation live. Russia is committing an international terrorist act against a sovereign european country.
If I were a conscript forced to take part in an insane war I'd probably decide to run out of fuel too.

if you were a conscript, you wouldnt know anything, you follow orders given above you and just go. as it becomes aparent many had no idea where they were or where going,except the drivers. they had to know
@@bladerj A conscript usually has to sign off on deployment first. No one gets simply shipped into a conflict without being asked first. But maybe things are done differently in Putin's Russia.

The moment the Russian soldier laughed did it for me. I've had to remind myself that its very likely the bulk of the Russian troops aren't in this fight willingly, I know many have families in Ukraine. No matter how hard the government tried, they couldn't paint these people as bad guys
No one wants war, my bf is Russian and he’s normal citizen who was also impacted just like others by this chaos due to sanctions. I have to take care of him financially because he’s father (who doesn’t have much liquid cash in his account) is unable to wire money due to many Russian assets (bonds etc) are frozen atm (could go indefinitely) and it’s just tough for everyone. My heart goes to every ordinary citizens who are impacted by this
For sure, so many Russians have relatives in Ukraine and Ukrainians have relatives in Russia. This interaction shows this fight isn't between citizens.

Of the vehicles of the first wave (here presumably a BMP-2 or BMP-3), hardly any are still intact today. At least part of this crew is probably now dead or permanently disabled. Perhaps every fifth Russian soldier deployed in eastern Ukraine is no longer alive today, or has been seriously wounded.
These are from the armoured units that attacked the Sumy region. I guess 5 to 7 % chance each that they are alive and still fighting today. The rest are dead or too maimed to fight. Note: A missing eye or arm is no reason not to be sent back to the front line for russian soldiers in Ukraine. A missing leg might do the trick to be sent home.
