- Thirteen guards on Snake Island on Ukraine’s southeastern border shared some last words as they were approached by two Russian warships on Thursday, according to Ukrainian media outlets. The Russian soldiers contacted the Ukrainian border guards asking them to surrender or they would open fire, according to an audio clip released by the Ukrainian government of the moment. Then a guard can be heard saying, “Russian warship, go f**k yourself.” The Russians then reportedly bombed the island.
The president staying in the capital says a lot about him. I only wish US politicians had that kind of mettle.

@Haku Yuki I agree. I just think it was in vain. They ended up protecting nothing and their families have to live the rest of their lives knowing that they’re gone. Over what? Refusing to peacefully surrender when they were already going to lose the base? I’m no expert, but if you ask me that’s not a great strategy. Everybody suffers when someone dies.
I heard the 13 people in Snake Island actually survived.
The tank that ran over the car was because it lost control of the tank. They got him out safely.

This is literally the winter war all over again
Imagine how the families of Russian soldiers will feel like. I imagine a lot of domestic turmoil in Russia - this doesn't seem like a popular war.
Some of them actually have family in the Ukraine.

@@1LuvMLPFiM I saw a reporter talking to a woman in Russia with her young daughter. The grandfather lives in Ukraine. The little girl was in tears. They were trying to keep in touch with him.
I admire the UKRAINIANS spirit.
