Meet the Skateboarding Star From Rural India

- Skateboarding became a thing in India in the 2000s. It was, however, confined to cities and centres where people were already ‘in’ on the skateboarding rush. But when a skatepark came to the Indian hinterland of Madhya Pradesh in 2015, it changed things for better, for everyone, and especially for Asha Gond. Today, Asha, who lives in Janwaar village, is a pro skateboarder. This is her story of beating patriarchy, tradition, and stereotypes to achieve her dreams.

Atleast if you make a video on an Indian subject, type the word 'Watch More' in Hindi correctly, its always inconsistent in vice videos. Sometimes, they type it right, but mostly wrong. Its 'और देखें' not 'और देखे'. No one says the word the way its typed in vice videos in India, please try to be more consistent, otherwise you will also come out as a foreign channel which is insensitive to other languages

@@ulrikerenate because the story of the kids in janwaar are the story of so many indian skateboarding kids.Btw im the one who was building the skatepark in janwaar, who is helping you to let everyone believe you are the godmother of indian skateboarding. I even came up with the idea of the name Janwaar Castle and also told you that we invented the rule no school no skateboarding while we worked on the skatepark.We told you that this rule comes original from the kovalam skate club and it works really well there.At that time you just laughed at us and wished us good luck with it. Only to continue later on with that rule after we left. And telling everyone now you are kind of the founder of everything. Alone in kovalam are 10 skatergirls who could be an rogh model for that Netflix movie. So please Ulrike höre doch bitte endlich auf der welt soviel Senf die ganze zeit zu erzählen. Wir wären dir alle sehr verbunden. Es gibt genügend Menschen auf der Welt die skaten und die Wahrheit kennen. Und das ist nicht deine Wahrheit.
