14 Tips and Tricks to MASTER EVERY Rocket League MECHANIC

  • Rocket League is full of advanced mechanics that give this game such a high skill ceiling. The mechanics are the biggest reason that people continue to play even though the game was released way back in 2015. Practicing mechanics unlocks new ways to score and compete, and they help you climb the ranked ladder.
    This video is not a tutorial, but rather a collection of some of the best tips and tricks that I've learned over more than 6000 hours of playing. These tricks are mostly details that are easy to miss or corrections to common mistakes that players make when learning.
    I'd love your feedback - so let me know how many of these you already knew before watching. I'm also interested to hear if you have anything to add to the mechanics covered in this video.

    Great video! Just adding to the kuxir pinch a lot of people pinch the ball off the corner of the wall instead of letting it roll up above the corner of the wall and then pinching it. Usually a lot of speed on the ball makes it that bit easier hope this helped

    Quick thing: Instead of holding breaks on resets, you can use powerslide which is far more consistent from my experience. I guess It depends on your preferences but I think everyone should try this

    Something i found that makes pogoing a ton easier is to be rotating your car forward as you strike the ground; it simply slams your car harder into the ground and gives a stronger pogo. It helps more than you'd think.

    just a little detail on flip resets, getting them late is really really useful for when youre doing a scoop with your reset, it will almost always catch your opponent off guard with enough power unless youre like top 100 ssl in a playlist and even then people still struggle to defend them

      That's the beauty about Rocket League. Everyone has its own view and playstyle. Check how Monkey Moon plays the game and compare that to Zen or Vatira. They all play the game very differently, yet all of them are the best players in the world right now. What I mean to say is: There is no right or wrong. Yes, holding break, holding powerslide, powerslide + break or even none of this could work for YOU. Find what works the best for you. This doesn't only apply for the reset. This applies for aerials, for the mechanics you like to use etc... Some have more success with aerial bumps, others prefer bounce dribbles and others prefer flicks. Monkey Moon likes to shoot the ball behind the opponent first and tries to force a mistake by the opponents, while Zen goes for a ceiling double tap. And both works fine, at least just now. We never know how this game will look like in 2 years, as the meta could change. Good luck! :)

      I just practised it without trying to implement it in my game for at least 3 months, 5-10 minutes here and there and at some point I just started to be able to use it in game. If you have any desire to have better mechanics it’s worth the effort, nothing has improved my game more than air roll

      D3 and same, I was always good with fast aerial shots but I never use air roll unless I’m shooting, I still suck at air dribbles. It’s never made sense to me how people just adjust their cars mid air backwards and upside down all at the same time. When the ball is directly above me, I can’t get a decent touch for a proper air dribble, max 2 scuffed touches, the camera is too disorienting. Though I don’t think you really need to master air dribbles to get out of diamond, ground play and positioning is easily the reason I got d3 in like 350hrs

    For a good kuxir you need some space before the ball rolls up the wall. You only hit the ball lightly and if it is at the top point while it is rolling up the wall, then you have to hit the ball down and sideways with the corner of the car at the bottom. The ball must not roll too high and you must not hit it too far down or too far to the side. If you hit it too low, the ball will fly towards the ceiling

  • @fultzy5696
    @fultzy5696 2 місяці тому

    Another thing i have found is that you dont want to be boost all the way to the ball on a flip reset. Let your car glide into the ball for the last second and you should stay very close to the ball after getting the flip

    I saw another tutorial on flip reset and while i cant do them myself, he said about using the power slide right as the ball connects (no joke intended) but its sucks you in toward the ball and gives a clean pop at least that is really what it looked like when it was shown.
    But what do I know I can even produce a flip reset (at least not intentionally).

    • @goosemonkey10
      @goosemonkey10  2 місяці тому

      I think it helps a lot if you’re early on in learning resets. If you’re already super comfortable you don’t need the brake as much

      @goosemonkey10 thanks for the quick reply. I wondered because obviously zen doesn't use it unless there is something I'm missing. But with me learning chain resets I am hoping I'm not missing something crucial.

    Super helpful! But I have a problem. I'm on 1650 and I never get a chance to use my mechanics. No matter what I do, I get challenged. I feel like I get an opportunity every 2 or 3 rounds. It definitely has to do with second man positioning, but generally, what am I doing wrong to rarely get an opportunity? Could you do a video how players like Zen get an opportunity like 5 times per match, just based on the positioning? It's surely not just staying central. It has to be something even more indepth, which for me with 7500 hours is still not clear.

    stalls are so easy if you play on PC with a controller. Bind steer right, air roll left, and jump all to the same key (I use the space bar). Tap that key to stall. I hold my controller directly over my keyboard anyway, so it's just a quick tap with my pinky on the space bar, and I get a perfect stall every time.

    Yooo for the air dribbling tip at 4:31 I got advice for console players. We can go into free play and get up close the the ball and press the launch button. From there try to carry the ball effectively to the backboard. After you can stick to the ball pretty well, try guiding it into the goal practice going to each corner. Like if this helped💯✊🏽🤣 I’m plat 1 no one special I just started this year and been grinding this game everyday.
