A GUIDE to GRAND CHAMP Positioning [2v2]
This video is a guide on how to better position in some of the most common situations you will see in Grand Champ-level Rocket League games. As a player who has been in the top 0.1% for the past several years and a coach who has worked with hundreds of players, I have seen almost every mistake imaginable.
In this video, I break down the key plays in one of my most recent games and talk about the strategy behind my choices, what went well, and what went wrong. These plays were selected not only because they are some of the most common scenarios, but also because they get messed up frequently by lower-ranked players. Improving on these will definitely help you improve your skills and rank up in your games.
If you like this style of video please let me know as I can do more.

How I Trained a WORLD CHAMPION
Переглядів 3,5 тис.Місяць тому
In this video, I tell the story of how an obscure Rocket League mechanic got me in front of one of the world's best Rocket League players: SquishyMuffinz. I walk you through the history of Rocket League mechanics and discovery showing how much people are willing to innovate and take this game to new heights. The mechanic in question, the lix jump, is not new but has been coming back into the sp...
14 Tips and Tricks to MASTER EVERY Rocket League MECHANIC
Переглядів 27 тис.2 місяці тому
Rocket League is full of advanced mechanics that give this game such a high skill ceiling. The mechanics are the biggest reason that people continue to play even though the game was released way back in 2015. Practicing mechanics unlocks new ways to score and compete, and they help you climb the ranked ladder. This video is not a tutorial, but rather a collection of some of the best tips and tr...
Why You're Stuck in Diamond | Rocket League Coaching
Переглядів 7 тис.3 місяці тому
A large majority of Rocket League players find themselves in diamond rank. Diamond can be incredibly frustrating as there is a lot of difference in skill between players, and the distance from Diamond 1 to Champ 1 can feel monumental. As a Rocket League Coach, I have seen my fair share of diamond gameplay and the session that I hosted with this player exhibited almost all of the habits I consis...
How to do the LIX JUMP | Updated Tutorial 2024
Переглядів 15 тис.3 місяці тому
The Lix Jump was discovered several years ago, and many players saw a ton of potential for this mechanic to change Rocket League. It was incredibly promising to have a way to get a flip reset as soon as you jump off the wall, however, it wasn't so simple. The Lix Jump, while impressive, turned out to be extremely difficult to pull off. The timing of the necessary inputs was unbelievably precise...

People learn the most from watching gameplay, so by analyzing this win streak you should be able to pick up on some tips and tricks to bring i...
Ranking Up In 3s Made EASY | Rocket League Coaching

3v3 is a polarizing game mode in Rocket League. You either love it or you hate it. Typically, the people who hate 3v3 don't know where to rotate to, think it's a "messy" game mode, and get lost or confused. In this video, I coach a player who is Grand Champ 1 in 3v3 and give him some pointers on how to improve positioning and win more games. After going through some of the highlights from our c...
How To Play With BALL CHASERS | Rocket League Coaching

Anyone who has played Rocket League has experienced a teammate who is a ball chaser. These players seem to only have tunnel vision and play the hero throughout the whole game. As a coach, I have had a majority of players tell me that their teammates are impossible to play with due to extreme chasing and poor decision-making, and they are the main reason ranking up is so difficult I put together...
How To Defend Against ADVANCED MECHANICS | Rocket League Coaching
Переглядів 3,7 тис.5 місяців тому
This video gives a lot of insight into what it takes to be able to defend some of the toughest shots in Rocket League. As a player and coach, I often find that players will feel lost on defense without much direction on how to stop shots. This can be particularly hard when you think your opponent's mechanical skillset is much greater than yours. I played a couple of games at the top 0.2% of the...
Rocket League Season 13 Trailer (VERY OFFICIAL)

The most recent event in the saga of the decline of Rocket League is the announcement of Rocket Racing. This is a new game mode that is being introduced in Fortnite as part of the Chapter 5 update. Many Rocket League players are upset about this as it seems to be the primary reason that Epic announced that it would be removing trading. Rocket League has seen a ton of change over the years, but ...

If you want to get better at Rocket League, it starts with playing the game fast. As a coach who has worked with a ton of students, I have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly of lower-ranked play. If you're looking for ways to rank up and keep up with your opponents (or team...

These videos are super helpful understanding positioning. One thing I struggle with is when to get on backboard on defense. I'm C1 and understand I need to play backboard but don't know when on rotation I should be driving up the backboard. Like the first backboard play at 9:14, you drive past net and up the backboard. I would just stayed in backpost probably killing my momentum. Then the second backboard play at 9:56, I would of drove up the sidewall to challenge. If you can explain your positioning and rotation getting to backboard in future videos, that would be helpful. Thanks!

interesting and informative, I would deffo like to see 3's related take on rotations and actually aknowledging the right times to push. After my coaching session I feel a lot more confident in my ability, but now I personally see where many others go wrong or just simply don't understand what they are doing wrong and why. And thus I think it would be great for them to be able to learn and understand these things. One other thing that erks me is 2's players coming to 3's and being way to hesitant, not understanding they do not have the time to play with the ball. Because 3's players will not respect the plays like that and challenge. I see way to many players thinking they can play 3's like a 2's match, they IMO are NOT the same game.

I wish my mate would really emphisize the point you make about the contribution. He is Mechanically better and faster than me in the game we both know this but he thinks he has to do everything and cuts like a madman and touches the ball on every occassion he can. I am C2 and he is low GC still most games we loose are due to me reading the game seeing his contribution is over. He has no boost and the ball is behind him instead of letting me take over and rotating behind me he will try and turn and get to the ball again. I cannot say how often he has outplayed me with this crap and the result is, I wasted boost for nothing and I am out of the play and he has no boost and after he outplayed me he gets the ball taken away fom the oppoenent who has boost and saw it comming. We get scored on alot like this. The sad part is he is really good but he just doesn´t see it. I give him all the room and cover him but the other way around he takes up my room too much. No way to get out of champ with him even thou he is so much better.

@@goosemonkey10 Sure we are good friends and im having fun just feels like im stuck in my rank because of this. He mey be GC1 but we are playing in C2, my comfortable rank, if it was GC then yeah I probably couldn´t keep up and that makes him cut and do as I said but in my rank its actually not necessary its rather hindering.

As someone who literally hit GC for the first time a few days ago, this is super useful. Some of this carried me up there and the rest i can implement into my gameplay now. One thing to point out though it to stay close to the play when rotating off the ball. This allows you to get into the play if you are needed, but you can still grab pads. 100 boost isnt necessary every time

this was seriously one of the most valuable coaching vids i've watched in a long time. as a always teetering around in C3 in 2s and never able to quite get to GC, you called out everything i tend to do in those situations. sure occasionally ill make a gc like rotation or decision but on average i'm doing what you said i'd likely do in some many of those situations and seeing you give the better decision to make was super helpful. thanks. one of these days i'm gonna join the discord and ask for a session lol.

Yooo for the air dribbling tip at 4:31 I got advice for console players. We can go into free play and get up close the the ball and press the launch button. From there try to carry the ball effectively to the backboard. After you can stick to the ball pretty well, try guiding it into the goal practice going to each corner. Like if this helped💯✊🏽🤣 I’m plat 1 no one special I just started this year and been grinding this game everyday.

Well done on the video!! But amalox going into the chat going “mines a lot better,” and then as he is missing it, he’s trying to cover himself up with the air dribble setup, not the actual mechanic; I don’t appreciate that behavior at all. I’m not trying to trash talk on amalox or anything, I just did not like it. Thats not how we are supposed to act, and I do not agree with covering your mistakes up.
